    I love 1v1 ranked matches in FAF. It is stressful as hell but I just keep coming for more :)

    You should tech up after you have enough resources, and before you need the thing that the next tech level enables.
    This tip was brought to you by someone who didn't watch the video, and doesn't play Supreme Commander.

    speed2 doesnt play ladder....
    When someone asks me when to tech there are multiple answers
    Most common reason: Reactionary t2. when your opponent has t2 you go t2
    2) you have the eco to do it
    3) t1 isnt cutting it
    4) opponent starts turtling

      I play against ai a t2 rush and that s the fastest way to kill an Acu. I tech up as fast as possible and then I start producing as many hoplits as possible. Just 8 of them can be a serious threat to an Acu. You have to attack it by kiting at least with 8 of them and to maintain a good production rate to replace quickly the killed hoplits and to keep the Acu under pressure until you kill it. Then as soon as you have enough resources you can also build another factory and produce also t1 assault bots and spy bots. It s pretty expensive and takes some time but it s Wörth it. If you do it as soon as possible the opponent doesn't have enough time to produce so many tech 1 units and a small group of t2 tanks can overwhelm a lot of t1 units. Another good tech 2 rush is to tech up as soon as possible , produce a bunch of t2 engineers and build three missiles tattical launchers and a missile in each of them before the opponent build a missile defense

    For land I usually go t2 when I have 900 mass in storage, and I am safe enough to do it (unless aeon). If I am aeon I keep up with auroras and range gun com and rush t3 then laugh while my harbs are destroying them.
    T2 air I usually don't do unless I want to use it.
    T2 navy is usually map dependent. On sera glaciers I do it after several frigs but on white fire I try to rush it a bit.
    T3 (for anything) is usually reactionary or when the t2 stage is taking long and it is a stalemate.

    Actually, there are rocks close by.. They're below the cliff of your starting position halfway up to the northern expansion.

    I want to start playing online but im kinda afraid to be in a match where I will be more of a hindrance to my team than actual help since I have never played against a human, are there games for newbies? and what about the community? just curious since I really like this game
    btwn thanks for doing this videos man they are really entertaining and informative

      From my experience as a newbie there are tons of newbs only games and friendly players, I would recommend 1v1 automated match ups after you learn what you can about the special faf maps and balance changes. In 1v1 everything is your fault so you no one will be annoyed at you and the other player is usually friendly.

      Mrbigglesworth92 vast majority of FAF community is on newbie level

      Mrbigglesworth92 Just don't be afraid, there are tons of newbies in the game and after seeing some casts you will have a general idea about what to do on a certain spot which makes the start pretty easy. There is also a replay vault so you can search for a game filled with pro's and copy their build orders. Doing so will give you a very easy first 3-4 minutes and a headstart on most newbies ;)

      The lobby shows your rating and number of games played. If you partake in a team game people won't expect much of a 0 rating with 0 games, and you shouldn't worry too much about how well you do. Just make sure you have watched a few casts and maybe played 1 or 2 games against AI and you are good to go. Noob games are regularly hosted, don't get disheartened if you get kicked from a game with all 1000 rated players, just wait for another one.
      The community is usually very friendly to beginners, most players still remember that getting started with this game is a bit daunting.

    I like to shift command an engineer to build 4 mass storages around the mass extractors and then tech up the mass extractors that are fully surrounded by mass storages first

    • @BRNKoINSANITY
      @BRNKoINSANITY  4 роки тому +2

      It's more mass efficient to get the t2 first THEN cap. Income per mass invested is higher, so it pays for itself faster. With t1 mex a storage is worth .25 mass per second, and 3x as much with t2 mex. The mass you spent on 4 storages will come close to paying for a t2 mex, which will net you 4 additional income (2->6) instead of 1 (2->3).

      @@BRNKoINSANITY so should I upgrade the mex and use engineers to speed up the upgrade then use them to build the mass storages, knock them out 1 at a time?

    • @BRNKoINSANITY
      @BRNKoINSANITY  4 роки тому +1

      @@glhfsport4682 all t1 you can built -> safe mexes to t2 (protect for ~2.5 minutes to pay back) -> cap safe t2 mex with storage/t2 upgrade risky but ok mex -> t3 mex -> t2 mass fabs around existing mass storage -> RAS commanders/t2 fab/t3 fab spam.

    Ok newbie question how do you undo 1-3 items in a long build order?

    • @BRNKoINSANITY
      @BRNKoINSANITY  9 років тому +12

      Hold shift and use ctl+right click on the item you want to remove.

      yep, to expand on this as brnk said ctrl+rightclick will undo a waypoint in the shift view. In FAF doubleclick on waypoints also can modify existing commands in the shift view.
