PC= Personal Computer. Literally meaning that this platform is individualized for how the user wants to set up and experience it. I game on a 55in 4k 120hz tv with VRR. Yeah I'm in the minority of how I game on my PC by doing it on a tv in the living room.... So what. This way of gaming bucks the traditions of how you want to game. The first word in PC says it all.
I don't think you are in a minority, mate. Many PC gamers I know have their system hooked up to a TV. DisplayPort going to my office monitor and HDMI going to my HDTV. Best of both worlds, really. Been doing it since I was able to, and that's been a while :D
I have my Legion Go docked to an EGPU, and the EGPU docked to my 4k TV. There are only 2 inconveniences in my situation. 1 - I wish I could power on my PC with a remote. 2 - Since my TV is only 60hz, I have to manually go into Nvidia control panel and limit the FPS for every game to 58fps to prevent screen tearing. Other than that, it's amazing. Such a good video, VGF!
There's a BIOS setting that comes with some motherboards that allow you to turn on your PC with a usb input. Its pretty cool, but not in most motherboards.
I've *_ONLY_** ever* played games on PC in my living room. (That's where my main setup is at.) Granted, I didn't get my first gaming PC until August of 2023, but... still... I habe always used it as a console. I don't even use my gaming PC for anything else. *Only* gaming. If I need to do anything else on a computer, I either use my tablet or I use my laptop. My gaming PC is *only used for gaming.* And on my tv, to boot. Hell, I don't even *_own_* a computer monitor. 😂😂
Great video. Big Picture Mode is great, and you can import Game Pass games into Steam along with many other launchers too, so you don't have to jump around different launchers. Once people wrap their head around that, it's no different to a console experience and most of the time way more customisable to how you like to game.
And also another thing fan boys over look is tht beautiful 21:9 native ultra wide capabilities....or 3 monitor setup....all im missing is GT 7 on Pc to show its real glory 😂😂 good vid.
Been using big picture mode for over 10 years to play PC from the couch. As long as the game has native contorller support the experience is similar to a console and the games are cheaper. The worst thing about the ps5 pro is Sony will dump out rhe ps6 at $600+ since the market will take it, there was even minimal pushback against the $50 increase on the slim digital. Cant wait for a $600+ digital only console where only one company can sell games for it, really fantastic future for gaming.
Eh, maybe my TV just sucks, but that is the biggest limiting factor for me not wanting to PC game in the livingroom. I've yet to find a TV that can match a good dedicated gaming monitor. Ever since the Dreamcast had that nifty VGA-Out adapter - I've mostly been running my game consoles off of a monitor as well. I find gaming consoles are easier to navigate for children as well, so I keep my PS4 and Xbox One S hooked up to the TV for when family is over. I rarely ever use them myself aside from a handful of PS4 exclusives (like Bloodbourne and Gravity Rush 2) and Xbox 360/Original backwards compatibility. If I PC game from the livingroom at all, it's emulation and older PC games on my potato laptop 1650 mobile via it's HDMI out. For my 4070 system, I want the best image I can get from it - so I use my monitor on my desk.
I have my pc connected to my monitor and I have a 10 meter hdmi 2.1 cable going to my oled on the other side of the room thank god for wireless mouse and keyboards and controllers
I don't blame people for having a hard time couch gaming with a PC. I tried early on to control the PC with a controller even using steam drivers but what it does not tell you is that the drivers are only compatible with steam, try the Microsoft store or Epic store and I would up having double inputs, one form the controller and the other from the drivers. The biggest issue is can you couch game on a PC while easily accessing all the stores which is hard due to driver compatibility issues. If you can do a video on how to easily couch game while accessing all the game stores with an xbox controller I would LOVE to see what you come up with. Also I don't know if this is just a me issue but on the xbox controller when ever I press the xbox button on the center top of the controller sometimes the left stick controls the volume and I have to remove the battery and reset the controller? So yes there are quite a few problems couch gaming on the PC if you want to access multiple stores "steam fans who also likes to play Fortnight". If you only wanted to access the steam store and only the steam store you have a few tools however, purchasing in microtransactions with nothing but a controller "even in big picture mode" is still difficult to do so they need to work on that. Some issues if you ever want to make a video on how to couch game with a PC.
You can use STEAM or gog Galaxy to launch all your games. For STEAM Go TO Games -> Add Non-Steam Games To Library. If the game has a different launcher, make sure you stay signed in to that launcher automatically. EA/Ubi/Epic and it should launch from STEAM.
I quite literally have a full blue tooth key board and mouse and a stand next to my couch and I have my pc connected to my lgv65 oledd c3, amazing experience way better than gaming on my os5 which is just my Blu-ray player
@bombyo3634 Halo and Gears are the main reason for incentive to buy an Xbox 360 at the time. I bought a PS3 to play Infamous and Killzone 2 and God of War 3.
@@SergeiKraven Why is cost a factor? Why be bothered that Xbox has a lower cost of entry? Parents, students, low wageworkers, single parents, etc. have a budget. Telling them to eff off because they can't afford a top of the line console is nonsense. Also, getting a Series X and PS5 requires a big investment in getting a middle end HDTV that runs at 60Mhz or a higher end that can support 120Mhz and up. Series S is fine for most players because some games struggle with 60fps and 120fps and/or they don't have an expensive TV.
No one is debating you can't use a PC in the living room, but good luck using it as a PC (other than gaming) from the couch. It's not a myth the PC is designed for the desktop, not the couch. It's silly to say otherwise. I can use a console on the desktop quite easily, but it's not designed for that either. Were just talking about designed for here, not what is hard or can't be done. I mainly game on PC at the desktop, and have an additional PC on the big TV as well as an XSX. Even with a wireless K & M I still use the XSX over the superior PC for anything that isn't a game I have to have more fidelity for than console.
@@SheepAmongG.O.A.T I use my PC (connected to my 55" 4k TV) as an actual PC from my bed and/or my couch all the time. Whether it's editing videos or programming, it works just fine, maybe even better since I'm more comfortable. Bluetooth makes everything easier.

No the popular path is buying gaming pcs and that’s y there gonna be switching to pc duh but I’ll quit gaming once it becomes pc only and just play my Xbox’s even if there’s no Xbox live I got modded 360 with every game on it from og Xbox and 360 ever made I have a pc and I hate it for gaming

My high end PC that is connected to a monitor and a 60" TV, I just have to change a setting to play on one VS the other, can't do that with my PS5.

I have used one and it has its uses, but it more for a desk setup, streaming or multi tasking.
Have been using my tv with my pc since 2014 so it’s perfectly capable. A 55” or 65” oled is the sweet spot imo.

Pc does what console does but more and better. Kinda sad.
The problem I can see is that HDMI 2.1 doesn't support Linux. This can be a problem.
PC in the living room is possible but not practical for most people.

Unless you are running an i9 with a 4090 or some other super expensive combo($3-$4k)...then switching to PC is a downgrade.
U gotta b an expert and ask questions to do this it’s not as good as smooth sailing as a console
U have to click steam with the mouse tho then u can use ur controller its wack
I still love my Xbox Series X. I'm just disappointed that Gears and Halo may end up on PS5.
So it bothers you if others are able to experience Gears & Halo😂
@Gen_X_Gamer_79 I'm not bothered if anyone plays it. The simple answer is getting an Xbox. Anyone can, for 300$, the Series S.
