I wanted a Roland D-70 last year but the problem is that they were rare in the UK and nobody on EBay will post them which is why I bought a U-220. But unfortunately as the value down button doesn't work on my U-220 I also had to buy another sound module compatible with the ROM cards so I could use the Rock Drums card and be able to properly use the Orchestral Strings card so I also bought a Roland CM-32P that was listed with a CM-32L as I also wanted an LA Synthesis module even though the CM-32P can be annoying when it cuts out and takes several attempts to render midi tracks. But as I can't get to my Dad's work bench I'm probably never going to be able to replace the U-220's micro switches. I do also have a D-70 rom card as I found out the U series is compatible with D-70 rom cards even though Roland didn't really want people to know that at the time!
One of the few lucky guy who's got a D70 with a working keyboard :) I've got one for 50 bucks, but like most D70, the keyboard doesn't work anymore and it's a huge pain in the *** to fix !
same 'red glue' shit as JD800 keybed ? using it as a module then i reckon ? i used it in the early 1990's when it was new, i never got too deep into it though, i wish i did. cool quite unusual unit.
I have a synthesizer Yunost 21 (1983) Made in the USSR. In terms of timbre, I compared it with Roland D-50. Of the 26 tones, the timbre is exactly 1:1 or close or very similar. And only 8 timbres are completely different. Moreover, all timbres can be additionally changed using sliders.
Hallo Herr Hobmeier. Ich habe schon seit ein paar Jahren den Roland D 70. Restauriere ihn gerade. Und hätte grosses Interesse an diesen Sounds. 🙏Bin ein grosser Alan Parsons Project, Saga, Supertramp Fan. Viele Grüsse Christian
The D-70 sounds better than the U-20/U-220 and even the MV-30 because the D-70 uses the same kind of synth engine as the Roland JV, XP, JD and XV series keyboards and modules in that the sounds are actually patches with up to 4 layered tones. I would have loved to have owned a D-70 even though many were known to have the same problems with the keys as the U-20 but because of their size and weight nobody on EBay posts them so I settled with a U-220 but I have found out the U series will accept D-70 rom cards which can at least enable your U series keyboard/module to sound more an MV-30 even though those patches won't sound as good as they would in the D-70. As for the Korg M1 I wouldn't mind a module version of the Korg M1, the Korg M1R and I'm actually thinking of buying one in the future but an M1 keyboard isn't out of the question. I might accept a Korg 05/RW as an alternatie to a Korg 01/W as many of the 05/RW's sounds are based on 01/W samples although I do have Korg M01 on my Nintendo 3DS which has sadly been discontinued.
Very cool! Picked up a D-70 last year, should use it more often.

Sadly the D70 was kind of DOA. I like it for the forgotten link it is, right between the D50 and the JV80. Very nice sounds btw.

Хорошая машина.
How Much Cost Brother
They typically go for around £400 but unfortunately because of their bulky size
nobody posts them on EBay. So I went for a U-220 instead.
