Krisp Review
In this video I put Krisp to the TEST.
I hold my 2 year old daughter while my boys (ages 3 & 5) are screaming in the next room and try to eliminate the noise they're making by toggling on and off the tool.
Can Krisp keep up and make me sound great despite a fussy toddler just inches away? Watch and see!

I just want this because my PC get's so loud that I sometimes think is about to take off to the moon.
uuuh u dont need this to remove that noise u can either make your mic cardioid or get voicemeeter and add a noise gate also in voice meter you can customize how your mic sounds alot more
Or its just your condenser mic being to sensitive, like in my case... Acually sign of good hardware lol. 😅
@@tredfxman True
@@DrakenEdits noise gait makes your sound weird. In a way there is a complete silence and then BOOM - it's you shouting with the sound of airplane engines.
I love that she waved at the microphone! :)
LOL at the lyrics reading! Thanks for the review! this made it official for me to buy the yearly plan!
Dude, another great review. It worked awesome! I was hoping someone would do a review on this. Voice definitely changed a little bit, but not really that noticeable. Nice rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody!
Thanks Steven! I was pretty impressed too. It's one thing to do this in post production with something like IZotope RX, but to do it real time is pretty crazy!
Awesome illustration of this powerful tool! Definitely worked the way it was intended!
This is the best video I've seen so far , thank you!!!
Those actors in Hollywood tell you never get on stage with kids or dogs... they'll steal the show! She definitely helped you demo Krisp. Hope she gets her new toy. Great review!
Haha, I agree. I will get her doing LTD reviews on her own soon.
Lmao best review ever, your daughter is adorable. Thank you for showing us how this work in these conditions!
Thank you Carla. This video was made so long ago, she's 5 now!
It actually works! It can be great for our small office. Sometimes we have two or three small groups doing conference calls at the same time in our office.
Perfect! Glad it’s helping you out.
Cool! No more PC fan that sounds like a aeroplane!
Thanks for doing this review. I have been using this app for a year, primarily for work meetings while working from home. I purchased it after seeing this review, specifically to filter out my kids screaming in the background. I didn't get the desired result as observed from this review. My issue was not with audio quality. Folks on the call could hear my kids voice (screaming) in the background. Reached out to Krisp customer support and got this feedback "The thing is that Krisp Ai is trained to mute all the background noise and keep only a human voice. Unfortunately, AI doesn't distinguish between different persons' voices and it's not being muted as a noise. The good news here is that our Research team is working hard on training the AI to be more personalized and distinguish between different people's voices."
I'm considering cancelling my paid subscription.
Try a more directional mic (shotgun mic) that rejects sound from the back and sides and mainly picks up sound in the front. I see Best Buy has an Audio Technica for under $100, just make sure you have a 3.5mm mic plug on your computer to hook it up.
@@JoeTheViewer Thanks. I already use a Blue Yeti mic with Cardioid mode to eliminate noise from the back and sides but realize that my placement of mic is not ideal. I will try by keeping the mic directly in front of me (not sideways) and see if that works better. I also read that gain should be as low as possible and mine was cranked up to the max. Will play around with that setting as well and see if all this makes a difference.
i remember getting krisp a couple years ago, and you had to say a couple sentances, which would then be used to block out EVERY other voice except for yours
i was looking for this feature, but it seems like krisp just completely removed it
@@Bigzthegreat You are right. They now have both noise cancellation and voice cancellation. However, voice cancellation works only with a headset. Also, when the voice cancellation was first released, I was excited but could not get it to work. I can't remember the issue, but I tried several times and gave up. Honestly, I moved on and am now curious to retest this whole thing again and see if it works or not.
For people who actually care about the software: It works really well! If you want to get rid of traffic noise (blaring horns/screeching tires etc) this software does the trick...you can't hear A THING. It's amazing.
Glad it's working for you, but are you saying people are coming to this video that don't care about software!? 😂
Your kids are adorable, I will try this app for sure
oh boy such a real way to test and demonstrate. all the best
Thanks!
only thing i dont like is that it makes my voice sound a lot lower quality, my microphone sounds cheap with it
Yes, the filtering is intense. If you’re doing pre-recorded work like Podcasts or Videos I’d recommend the Izotope RX suite instead. Krisp is cool for skype calls where fidelity isn’t paramount.

@@dave-swift Just wanna say that I tried the one on discord and it doesn't get lower quality audio ... maybe its an improved version ... but with my bird UM1 microphone it sounds good + even keyboard press and (slighlty mouse clicks) are not hearable its amazing !

She's soooo cute, I couldn't focus on the review of Krisp!!!! I have to review this review again and focus on you and the Krisp review!!
Thanks, she just turned 5. Time flies!
Great video. The baby did great!
Lovely blessed life for you kids. Amen. Wonderful review. I thought that the voice also sounds muffled, though it is certainly better than not having it.
Thank you so much! And I agree about the quality.
This is amazing! I actually gave it a try, but I felt iffy with the audio quality. In fact, when I tried the test call in Skype, my voice sounded shaky/static when the audio played back.
Yes, it does compromise quality a bit. I would use it for skype calls but not for podcasting.
Greta review.... i’m Sold! Thanks for doping this
Glad it was helpful, thanks for the comment Miranda. 👍
I used this app and after suppression on it had no effect on my voice I lovvee it !!
Krisp seem to have increased the sound quiality a lot during the last year. I don't hear my voice sounding much different at all using it. It just removes more or less all background noise, which is just amazing when working from home with kids. :)
Good to know! Thanks for the update.
Wow, that was amazing .... cute daughter.
Yes, it’s a pretty impressive tool and thanks about Moxie. 👍

Thanks for the review man. I'm impressed by what Krisp can do, but personally didn't like the audio quality when you applied the filter. There is a too big loss in audio quality. I also do video reviews from home with more professional equipment, so I hoped this could be a good tool to use for my recordings.
Personally, I think this is perfect if for doing calls from home, but it's not an option to use it for online reviews. A tough decision if I'll go for this one or not :) Again thanks for the review, it made a lot clear.
100%. Great for phone calls, not good for video & podcasts. If noise is a problem, grab something like Izotope RX for videos.

So cool! Thanks for this :-)
What a great review! You have a lovely daughter :)
Thank you so much!
Krisp muffles our speaking voice. I am just impressed with the mic. But compared to what we are using, in-ear earphones.
Thunderbolts and lightening! I like it!
🤟
Shari Brewer very very frightening me
This app looks pretty cool!
When you switch the switch button it went from a boy's voice to a man's voice. (-; (Macbooke pro). What a cute kid you have! You can be proud!
🤣Thanks!
This looks pretty useful, also at 2:42 you look like Ryan Reynolds :D, Thanks again!
Great review!
Thanks Paul!
I wonder if it works against stuffs like the television sound from another room or a coworker's phone call...
Best test ever :D
Thank you! 👍
I think this would be great for togglling on when you just can't get a noise free environment (like neighbor mowing the lawn outside)
Or the waves from the beach + seaguls 😅
awesome testing
The cutest test ever!
Thanks Shyn!
I love this review!
Glad you liked it!
Real life example. best review ever. 😂
great review
Your daughter is adorable
Any issues with installing this app on company owned computers? Like will the IT department allow it?
What about passing traffic? I have the same mic.
Nice test!
Thanks!
Thank you soo, soo much!
Great review :)
You are a great teacher
Cute daughter., you are blessed :)
Thanks Meganadha! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Looks like a decent bit of software if you have a large enough headstart on your audio setup that the deterioration only reduces your quality to average rather than below
Sometimes it works right the opposite. The better the mic - the more noisy things it picks up.
ahh made up my mind to buy the plan. My 3 year old is too noisy. My coworker finally said please give him some candy or chocolate
Did it help?
Hi, the software was cool. It's amazing! Thank you.
Glad you like it!
Did you know that you can earn money while using it? ua-cam.com/video/7_kQE5yaLC0/v-deo.html
Is this app is free?
Man this is amazing!!!
I'm glad you like it!
I was on the fence with this one, but this review saved me some cash. The audio with the filter on is just not good enough for what I need.
It would be nice if you could control the threshold and bring back some of the highend, but it’s also cool that there is one button... on. Makes it easy for everyone. To me the audio sounds a lot like Waves X-Noise turned up very high... it’s definitely best for phone calls, not something like voice over work or podcasting. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Bill. 👍
does krisp work for ingame voice chat?
Great review, but I'm so oblivious to small differences in the voice quality. So, do you don't recommend using this when I record my videos for social media and my courses? Should I just stick with my $60 snowball microphone and not use krisp?
Hi Dalilia - I wouldn’t recommend Krisp for recording videos unless you’re in an extremely echoey or noisy environment and it’s not possible to go into a quiet room with at least carpet on the floor, and preferably some furniture to help absorb echo.
Recording in a nice sounding room is the best (and easiest) way to get nice sounding recordings.
When that’s not possible, Krisp can be a life saver, but it certainly isn’t as good a getting it right at the source.
If you think you can’t tell the difference, put on some headphones and watch the video again, you’ll be able to tell!
Great video
Thanks!
Thank you a lot! Great Application!!
Does someone know a similar Solution for standard Phone Calls?
Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for a great review - will it take out an echo in the room...? Thanks for any thoughts
Yes it will!

haha, I hope it works well for you!
Do u recommend better program do the same job
Omg thanks for this my niece is crying while I'm taking calls and it does scare me I'm getting a subscription
haha, hope it helps!
@@dave-swift It did I use it for a week and it was the best, my company did not allow me to use it, but it definitely works ☺️
If you have an RTX GPU or know how to unrestrict access on another gpu I recommend RTX Voice. It doesn’t muffle your voice and is super clear and works 10x better.
It does. Any noise suppression software works more or like the same way.
@@papercuthappinnes4468 Krisp has gotten better now with the HD voice but I still think that RTX voice is a bit smarter
i enjoyed the video a lot 😂
Thanks Ryan
love from india nice work❤️❤️
Thanks!
My question is when do I use both audio and speakers on ? Is their a specific way to use them ? What if I am on a Skype video call with a headset which Do I turn on or off or bout should remain on ?
hey sorry, I don't entirely understand. Could you clarify "audio and speakers on"?
Can you get this on your phone?
But how can i remove noise from audio files, i have cancelled the noise from audio with audacity, but i am not how recording the audio file without noise
Checkout Izotope's RX line of plugins.
is this still safe to use?
Tanks!!!!
You bet!
Sometimes this thing just doesn't work. You'll do one recording, it works great, the next it doesnt work at all. If it just consistently took out noise or at least you could train it to detect a specific kind of noise rather than work off of an algorithm that guesses, that would be great.
It works all the time.
hahaha.. Loved your presentation
Glad you liked it 👍
Would you recommend it for zoom?
And also just using the laptop mic, nothing really profesional
I guess it depends on the purpose of the Zoom? Are you recording a podcast or giving a presentation for work? Probably not.
Catching up with friends? Sure.
great, but the audio quality is compromised.
I think ill just stick to a vst chain
This video is quite old, I’ve heard they improved quality now but I need to retest. I’m using RX9 for recorded audio, but I can’t use it on live calls.
Great idea👍 can you help me which headphone with microphone is the best for online learning
For online learning? Is it for your kids, like distance learning?
I mean with microsoft teams

Any similar app for Android?
When you mute the noise, the sound is over-processed. It effective but not natural. If you use a DAW for podcasting NS1 by Waves let you choose the sweet spot of processing before it turn unnatural. You can also use IDC dialog cleaner too. IDC is even more powerful but more costly.
Thanks for the comment François.
I totally agree. This tool is great for conference calls or even sales calls where the quality of your voice isn't as mission critical as recording voice for a podcast.
I am actually an audio engineer and I'm completely comfortable talking about audio on nerd level 10. NS1 is great because it's simple, but it is still more complex than Krisp because you have to adjust the threshold. I'm excited to see how this technology progresses. Cool time to be alive :)
@@dave-swift I agree. But they are a little too confident by saying it for podcasters on their website. It just a good deep neural network technology but for call and probably audio transcription as it an all-or-nothing software.
I also made a typo with IDC Instant Dialogue Cleaner.
Does the extension work this way as well?
Yes, I too thought this at first. Then I was really shocked with the results. I works amazingly well.
How did you edit this video? Specifically how'd your edit your face over the screen?
I just recorded a video on how I record videos... because I get this questions ALL the time :) It will be posted later this week (turn on notifications for the channel!)
My version of KRISP supresses the other voices as much as possible, but they can still be heard. I don't know what's wrong.
Is there any app for Android please help me
What of the android version?
Dear Sir,
Great Explanation! Thank you for showing Live Demo about Noise cancellation.
Could this app be useful for Google Meeting. How to be used in Google Meet?
Thank you Sir,
Yes, it could. It runs at the OS level, so it will basically create a new microphone input for whatever software you’re using.
@@dave-swift Thank you sir
Nice test.. the only problem is the saas aspect (which is cancer for me). Anyone can recommend an "offline" 1-time-pay app with the same or better quality?
You should check out Izotope www.izotope.com/en/learn/how-to-remove-background-noise-from-dialogue-recordings.html
excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
How did you produce such a cute little girl? Good demo
She lucked out on the genetics and looks like my wife :)
Can I use during live streaming streamlab obs
Yes
on my screen it says i can only use it for 1 hour a day is this true?
You can upgrade to a paid plan for more time.
Were you using the free version or the subscription one?
This video is quite old, but it was the paid version at that time.

Hi there! Hoping to god you see this haha!! I’m looking for something with GarageBand/logic pro x to cut out background noise completely with a usb mic installed( plug and play?) I’m wondering if there’s anything I can use to make this happen? Many thanks 😊
Hi Margaret, definitely check out the Izotope plugins. They will work great with Logic & GB. www.izotope.com/en/products/rx.html
@@dave-swift Thanks a mill for replying! Will that system plugin fairly cut out background noise/clicks/mic clicks and all noise pickups within the system, while I record??

it works, it makes ur microphone sound bad though
Agreed
It really likes to just stop cancelling out noise altogether if you stop talking.
How many hours per day for that noise canceling?
You can get 120 min/week for free.
Unlimited is $3.33/month.

I thought this would be 'the bomb' for meeting when I am in a noisy location...but, it seems the noisier it is - the harder the 'AI' has to work, and this really takes a dig at the processor in my laptop...Also, the voice quality seems to decrease and become 'tinny' the noisier the environment is...Nice try, though. I hope the company continues to do development until they've optimized processor use or at least put a max limit on how much is being used to run the program...Oh, and your hair is...'krisp'...
my parents were watching a movie but it doesnt cut out the sound 6/10
This thing does not work what so ever for me. I use Krisp on Discord and the people I'm talking to can constantly hear the TV in the background and it is so clear that they can say the quote word for word that they heard. The TV is quiet enough that I can barely hear it with my headset on, yet Krisp is convinced I want people to hear some TV show playing in the background quietly.
haha, I can't say that I still use it. I heard it has improved over time though. Sorry you don't like it!
why didnt u just use a mobile for background noise?
huh?
can you cant mute or chat in the chat
My microphone makes a weird sound like It just goes like TRRRRRT when im talking
