I appreciate how the lesson isn't for Tuca to change herself to be "what you're supposed to" but for Tuca to live the life she wants in the healthiest way possible. To be the person she wants to be and be able to take care of that person (her highest self) on her own, with a little help from loved ones.

Although I find the visual style of this show too overwhelming at times (its too noisy, too chaotic), the writing is stunning. The exploration of serious topics like trauma and abuse is handled with such care, but also such brutal bluntness and sincerity. I feel seen by this show, my fears and traumas acknowledged, my existence validated. Tuca and Bertie is such a great and important show. Women, share it with your friends! They'll see themselves in ways they are rarely portrayed in Western media.
