The Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master is a premium B550 motherboard that has several interesting features that help offset its relatively high cost. In this video, I assemble and test a system based on this motherboard on a test bench.
    Article: bit.ly/2Oi2wkX
The Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master motherboard has a retail price of $279.99, which is at the upper end of “budget” B550 motherboards. It is also more expensive than some X570 motherboards. For this price, you will get some interesting and useful features and very high-quality components that might make it worth the money.

Hi Glenn. Thank you for this video it was very informative! I am building a PC for the very first time, and I am using this motherboard. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 3700x CPU as well. After building it with my computer-savvy friend, we got the solid red CPU light and the D0 debug code. We checked everything, and made absolutely sure all the wires from the PSU were plugged into the motherboard correctly but still no luck. I had another friend check it out, and he used a tool to check the voltages, and oddly the cpu fan header pins weren't giving out any power and neither were any of the system fan header pins. I'm certain the ATX_12V CPU power plug is in the socket snug and correctly. The RAM and GPU are in properly and the board is getting power. I decided to replace the motherboard and CPU because I figured something must've been defective. I rebuilt it the same as before and STILL the red CPU light and debug code appeared. Could this be a faulty power supply issue? Also, can the CPU detect if the heatsink is pressed down on top of it because I'm wondering if maybe I didn't secure it tight enough? I'm exhausted after building and rebuilding almost 4 times now with the 1st and 2nd boards. Any help would be immensely appreciated!

I'm sorry you are having so much trouble! Are you doing your initial building and troubleshooting with the motherboard in the case, or do you have the motherboard out, perhaps on your motherboard box? It is much easier to work on that way.
According to the manual, D0 is a CPU initialization error. The power supply is the next likely culprit. What model do you have and how old is it? A new power supply would be useful for troubleshooting purposes. Do you still have both CPUs and both motherboards? If so, I would try both CPUs in both motherboards. It is very unlikely that you got two bad CPUs and two bad motherboards at the same time.
The CPU does not have any sort of pressure sensor. If the CPU cooler is not mounted properly, the CPU will overheat and eventually shutdown the system (depending in the BIOS settings). Since you have a 3700X, are you using the stock Wraith Prism RGB CPU cooler that came with the processor? Is the fan on the CPU cooler spinning when you turn the system on?
Maybe you can take some pictures of the motherboard with everything plugged in just to see what you have going on.

@@GlennBerrySQL Thank you for responding! To answer your first question, I have thankfully been building and troubleshooting on top of the box instead of inside the case ever since the 2nd motherboard arrived. I tried a combination of both CPUs on the 1st and 2nd motherboard. I even updated the BIOS on the first board and that still didn't make a difference with the debug code. My power supply is a Thermaltake Grand Series 850w. I must admit, I didn't check to see all the bad reviews on Amazon before purchasing it (a rookie PC builder mistake for sure). I have a new one coming in the mail tomorrow. It's an EVGA SuperNova 750w power supply, and I made sure it was a well reviewed product this time.
Regarding the CPU fan. I have the stock AMD Wraith Prism that came with my CPU as well as an aftermarket ID Cooling fan for RGB aesthetic purposes. I took turns plugging both fans into the CPU fan header, but neither one started spinning when the board was powered up. I thought perhaps the fans might only spin at certain temps while plugged into the CPU fan header, so I plugged them into system fan headers instead just to see. Same thing: neither one would spin in the other headers when the board was powered. I'll definitely update you tomorrow once I replace the PSU. If I'm still having the same issue I can take a video and upload it to my channel if you wouldn't mind watching. Perhaps you may catch something obvious that I'm missing. I'm fairly new to all of this, but I'm doing my best.

    • @GlennBerrySQL

@@KatanaKota17 It sounds like you are trying all of the right basic troubleshooting steps so far. I really think you have a bad power supply, especially since it is the only thing you have not swapped out yet. Are you 100% sure that both the 24-pin and 8 pin CPU power connectors are connected and fully seated?
The CPU fan should spin when you first turn the system on, and should always spin (at least with the default fan curve).
It is highly unlikely that ALL of these other parts that you have tried are bad. The only common component is the power supply.
Please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

@@GlennBerrySQL I wanted to update you and also thank you for your advice. After a month of struggling, buying a duplicate mobo and CPU and a different PSU, I have finally gotten the PC working today! It turns out my Corsair RAM was not compatible after all. They had rgb lighting up when powering up the board which was very misleading. I got some G.Skill trident RAM in today, set it in, and voila! I have certainly learned a lot about computers throughout this entire ordeal. Thank you again!

The 2nd and 3rd M.2 slots (M2B_CPU and M2C_CPU) are connected to the CPU, not the B550 chipset. If either one of those M.2 slots is used, the primary PCIe 4.0 slot (where your video card would go), goes from x16 down to x8. Both M2B_CPU and M2C_CPU are PCIe 4.0 x4.
This means that you could have three PCIe 4.0 M.2 drives installed, and they would each be x4. If you have a PCIe 4.0 GPU, like a Radeon 5700 or a Radeon 6000 series, or an NVIDIA RTX 3000 series, then x8 won't be any problem at all. It might be an issue with an RTX 2080 Ti though.

So let me give you a rundown of my specs: 3900x, 3200mhz Corsair vengeance pro, H100i platinum Corsair AIO, 850w Rog Strix White Edition PSU. I have checked the CPU for bent pins, none present. I have made sure every last cable is plugged into it’s proper location, both on PSU end and input end. I feel like the only thing I haven’t done is tried uninstalling the RAM and reinstalling. Otherwise I have tried just about everything. I cleared CMOS. I’m not using any SATA connections. Just one 970evo plus in the top m.2 slot. And I’ve even made sure that’s in perfectly. The Q-codes I am getting are either AE or AA sometimes. I’m so confused. This is my first build and I am staring at a $2000 piece of metal. I have no GPU yet as I am waiting for 3080 in September to come out.

@@padazzle6163 So you don't have any GPU at all, even for testing? The Ryzen 9 3900X doesn't have integrated graphics, so you won't get any sort of video output. Without a GPU, you can't really tell what is happening with POST (except what the debug codes show). If there was some more basic problem with the CPU or RAM, that should show up with a debug code.
I assume you see fans spinning, LED lights shining, and the system is not shutting off after a few seconds.
If you can get your hands on any old, cheap PCIe video card to temporarily use for testing, that would be very helpful. Remember, the very first time you boot and it finishes posting, it will hang until you hit F1 to go into the BIOS setup (because the motherboard sees a new CPU and RAM). That may be what is happening, but you just can't see it.

The AIO is running, everything seems to have power, I just can’t tell what’s going on since the monitor is coming up with no signal. If this PCI video card works, do I need to just mash delete key when I first start up, or do I need to hit a specific F key after Q code pops up? Thank you so much for your help, seriously! I cannot find a lick of information online that isn’t extremely outdated or not helpful at all.
