Geminids Meteor Shower 2023
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 гру 2023
- The Geminids meteor shower happens once a year when the Earth passes through the debris left behind by the asteroid 3200 Phaethon. It is one of the most active and consistent meteor showers and starts in mid-November each year, reaching its peak around December 13th and 14th. In places with little light pollution, the shower can produce over 100 meteors per hour during this period.

Me and my mother viewed the Geminids in 2017 it was the most beautiful meteorshower and worth it to stay up late into the night. The last one we saw together in 2018 was The Lyrids Meteorshower. We are looking forward for clrear weather and the moon being absent during that time.
Hi Janine! Thanks for the reminder and heads up for this wonderful event. Hoping Michigan has clear skies for this event. Thanks for sharing!!!
Can’t Wait!! Thank you ✨🙌
Thanks for posting! 👍
I feel cheated that I am just now finding your channel… I watch science/astronomy related videos all the time, I don’t understand why your channel has never been on my feed before. Thanks UA-cam 😑.
Anyways, I love your commentary pace and content, very well put together. I’m looking forward to watching ALL of your videos. Thank you! 😊
Welcome! I'm glad you are here. Feel free to leave comments on what kind of other content you would like to see.
Yes i witnessed & captured some as well
When is it every night between those dates of 13/14 dec
This shower starts in mid-November, but peaks around Dec. 13-14 each year.
I'm afraid meteor showers do nothing for me apart from give me a sore neck from looking up. I'd rather spend my time observing and imaging Love all your videos Janine.
Wish I lived somewhere with lesser light pollution :(
When does it come around again? I saw it as a youngster
ur the best
love ur vids
thank you for watching!
oh ya totally love your vids and I've really learned to love the sky more at night, I'm an Orion guy and I love Betelgeuse....always watching it because it might go supernova lol@@learnthesky
Please do a video on a constellation that doesn't have a video yet.
I've been working on this for a while. More will come soon!
Can you post recent videos
What do you mean?
Timing please am or pm
Wednesday evening until after midnight into Thursday morning.
IF THE EARTH AND SOLAR SYSTEM MOVE COUNTERCLOCKWISE WHY ARE METEORS MOVING CLOCKWISE???
is getting worse every year to watch the night sky because the light pollution and also is has been clouded but I try again tonight.
Yes, light pollution does keep getting worse. The night sky has really changed in the past century with the increase in population. I hope dark skies are protected in the future so future generations can enjoy them.
What did I just watch 💀
Remind me please anyone by replying my comment 🤓
Geminid meteor shower is happening and it peaks Wednesday evening into Thursday morning...over 100 meteors per hour.
