Your welt pocket looks very professional. A couple things, the pocket bag if it’s next to the facing, tack it. If not, next time alter it so you can tack it to facing. Also, after you install your zip & add drawstring for hood, stitch the facing in ditch of hood seam from facing front a couple of inches to hold it in place. It won’t be seen from outside. Your jacket is beautiful. Nice work. Happy sewing 😊
🍁Yess my Friend! I am falling for this jacket! You were given lemons and made lemonade! I knew something was wrong when you said the size 8 had a 45.5 inch bust 🤦🏽♀️ I loved your rants! Thank you so much for being transparent because it will help us sewists better prepare and avoid these issues! 🍁
Very nice jacket Ms. Talisha! So super cute! And that fabric…NICE! I love the pop you chose for the lining ! It matches the fashion fabric perfectly! ❤❤❤
I love the jacker. the fabrics are great. add a flange or "fly shield" to each side of the front opening and large buttons or snaps. the flange will make it look a little like a banded front and set off the center front as a design feature (and you could probably get away with adding about 3") maybe even use the orange to put a narrow piping or binding to the current center front to set off the center closing made with the flange
Hey T, I luv how the jacket turned out, but I know what you are about & I totally agree. I am working on a knit top, & I came to the conclusion that it runs small. Just garment in the stores depending on the store, can run small as well. This top, I could have up sized, but according to the sizing, I chose the right size. 😊
Hi Arleathia! Thank you so much!!!! 💕 Yea, I understand that. However, when they give specific measurements, I usually bank on the measurements and not the actual size. For the pattern I made, I think they accidentally printed those measurements on the wrong pattern because it doesn’t make sense. Looking forward to seeing your top! I just finished a knit top too! 😃 Thank you for watching! 😍❤️
Thank you for all of the fit recommendations. I really like the way that your jacket came out. The fabric is so cute! As always your photos are amazing! I can’t wait to make this jacket myself.❤ You look so cute girl!
Thank you so much! The fabric is sooo good and I definitely love the jacket. I’ll love it more when everything is fixed. You’ll love yours! Happy sewing! 🧵
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful jacket! I just got this pattern so I really appreciate you reviewing it, so if I make it I will know what to watch out for! 😊
The jacket came out beautiful! 💕 Glad you decided you’ll still add the zipper. I hate you had to deal with those inconsistencies. It definitely gives oversize vibes on the pattern envelope.
Thank you for the suggestion. I actually thought about using them, but my bust is soooo very large for this size and I think the closure would have had large gaping.
Ohhh, that’s so frustrating about the sizing! It’s a really cute jacket and I love the fabric. Thank you for sharing about the jacket. I had thought about picking the pattern up, but now, maybe not… And I agree about the sizing needing to be accurate. Beginning or newer sewist might think the mistake was their fault, and that’s not fair. I hope you have a good rest of your day!
Thank you! You're absolutely right!!! Sizing is SO IMPORTANT!!! 💕 I have noticed that larger sizes have issues that some of the smaller sizes don’t have, so it may not be an issue for you. There were women in instagram closer to your size that had the fit I wanted with no complaints. Thanks for watching! 💕
Thank you for this video and I think you made some very good points. I have actually recently sewed 3 other patterns that actual pattern pieces were incorrect. I have reached a level where I will not buy the vintage remake patterns because something that should be simple turns out being difficult because the pattern is incorrect and you have to make modifications to make it work.
Hi there! You are most welcome! I’m so sorry you’ve experienced the same situation. It’s super frustrating. The worst part of all is the customer service person fights to be right, so the issues will not get corrected. Thank you for sharing and watching! 💕
Love your jacket and it looks great on you! You could also add toggles instead of a zipper but zipper would definitely look better. I probably wouldn't pick a part that pretty seam but that's lazy me.
Thank you! I hear you. I think the zipper might look better with the fabric as well, and because it’s so snug, I’m sure I would have gaping with my larger bust. However, if all else fails, I definitely will! Thank you!!! 💕💕💕
The jacket is nice. You made me laugh at the mock-up comments. I was actually saying that. However, I have to agree with you on finished measurements. Somehow, you have to confirm that to be true. If not by mock-up, then by measuring the flat pattern or tissue fitting. Happy sewing 😊
I certainly wish I had now 🤣🥴! I have had issues with independent patterns being off with the finished measurements (mostly newer designers), but only once with the big five, so it really didn’t cross my mind because I sew with those patterns all the time. I should have known that it was too good to be true with my size number being so low 🤣🤣🤣! A lesson learned for sure.
Hi Taleisha, thanks for the notes on this jacket, I like it, will make notes, but haven’t yet worked on it. Looks great, but have to be honest and say those two munchkins in the background, then thanks for the photo! kinda stole your cuteness factor, spider man, and I’m not up on the green outfit (Minecraft? That still a thing with this age group?), but ❤. Hope you feel better soon, wow, this was a big one for you, sorry to hear. Do take care, k? 🙏🏽
Thank you so much, K! Yes, the munchkins seem to always take the show 🤣🤣. One was a Creeper from Minecraft. Apparently that’s a thing for them because all the kiddos like it. The other was Superman. I am feeling better but the recovery has been sooo slow. Thank you for watching and happy sewing! 🧵
That's crazy about the sizing!!! I will keep your comments in mind if I try that pattern. I mean, why do they publish the wrong measurements on the envelope??? I've had good luck going by the finished garment measurements on the pattern itself. I wonder if those are accurate.
Hi there! Yes, it is. I’ve always had good luck with the Simplicity pattern brands myself except for one other time. That’s one reason why I don’t make mock-ups. I honestly think they just printed the wrong measurements in that pattern. Like maybe it was for a different pattern…. Anywho, it’s still a very cute design so definitely measure the pattern pieces and give it a go! Thanks for watching!! 😃
The jacket looks nice, but I understand the frustration when the measurements listed don't equate to the actual measurements of the pattern. Pattern looks cute, but I will make sure to measure the actual pieces before choosing a size. Thanks for the advice.
I hope you feel better soon. The jacket is cute. However, I’m getting really frustrated with all these fitting problems with patterns. It’s kinda ridiculous how inaccurate pattern sizing are these days.
Hi Lori! Thank you so much for the well wishes and compliment. Yes, this pattern was very frustrating. After thinking about it more, I’m convinced that they had to have printed the measurements from a different pattern on this one. It’s just too far off! Disappointing though. Thanks for watching.🥰❤️
Hello friends! Happy Sunday! Below is the blog post link for today's look:

Thank you so much!!! 😃😍
I love the jacket! The fit is nice & it looks cozy❤. I'm so glad people don't see what the sewist sees 😅. You're looking great
Thank you! Ain’t that the truth 🤣🤣🤣!!💕
It turned out cute! I agree about the sizing. It should be what it says it’s going to be.
Thank you so much! I totally agree! 😉

Thank you and thank you for your suggestions!! That sounds like a great save! I will definitely consider that. Thank you so much for watching!!
Nice jacket. Can't wait to see the improved version. Welt pocket came out fabulous.
Thank you so much, Lorraine! 😀
It’s really cute on you, I love the fabric choice.
Thank you so much, Sammy!!! 💕💕💕
I love the jacket , you did a great job 👍❤
Thank you, Sandra!! 💕
The Jackeg is beautiful Talisha! I love your super informative review!
Thank you so much, Caroline! 😊💕
Your jacket is super cute. I would wear your jacket. Your fabric is pretty also. No one would ever know your mistakes. I won't tell neither.😅
🤣🤣🤣 Thank you so much!!! I’m in the process of fixing it to my likings 😃! 😍
Hi Talisha thanks for the review. I love the fabric choice. Have a blessed day.😇🙏🏼🥰
Hi Gladys! You’re so welcome!!! I’m glad you liked it and thank you for watching 💕 !

@@CreativiteeByT yea T, that’s true. They make mistakes too.😊
I love your jacket. The fabric is wonderful, and the hood is nice and roomy.
@@Manecoarse Thank you!! I’ll be happy when I finish it!!! 😃
Great review. Thank you ❤

Your jacket is so cute!!
Thank you so much!! 😃
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful jacket! I just got this pattern so I really appreciate you reviewing it, so if I make it I will know what to watch out for! 😊
Thank you and you are so welcome! Hopefully it was just my size and not all. Happy sewing and thank you for watching!! 😃
I love your jacket. I’ve had this patter out for some time. I am glad you shared the pattern review. I’ll take those things in consideration.
Thank you! Outside of those issues, you’ll love it! Happy sewing 🧵!
@ thank you!
Soooooo cute❤ Thanks for all you’ve shared
Thank you so very much, friend!!! 😃😍🥰
Super cute jacket
Thank you!! 😃
The jacket came out beautiful! 💕 Glad you decided you’ll still add the zipper. I hate you had to deal with those inconsistencies. It definitely gives oversize vibes on the pattern envelope.
Thank you! I certainly believe that was the intention but it didn’t happen for me. I will definitely share when I finish it. Thank you for watching!!
There are also closures that are sewn on the front and hook to close. Some really pretty ones, I think at Joanne’s.
Thank you for the suggestion. I actually thought about using them, but my bust is soooo very large for this size and I think the closure would have had large gaping.

I agree that mockups should not be needed.
Exactly! 😉
