Not Tru.... Been out years before he was born
Yea that auto tune incorporated in the rap genre. Now we got Future, Thug, Lil Baby, etc. He even influenced Wayne to try dat autotune out first time. TPain a 🐐for sure
T-Pain did “Low” & “Shawty” in the same night. Definitely one of the hook GOATs
He stole that chorus from me

Not to mention Plies was 31 when that came out… never give up on your dreams man you never know when your opportunity might be. Just gotta stay ready!
Damn I didn’t know that that’s real inspiration
Got damn…would’ve never guessed
Yeah but he was already big before
The beginning of that video showed me all I needed to know them boys connected
He was younger than that😂
Pain did Shawty and Low in the same night……. Think about that for a min…… that’s crazy!!!!!!!Pain is crazy talented
Wow, that's fire.
Low was already recorded by Flo Rida. T-pain re-recorded the vocals. He didn't write that hook
@@lilboosmith4580incorrect. T-Pain did the hook and they were trying to pitch it to Nelly. They were also trying to pitch “Shawty” to Webbie.
@CraccCobain exactly, Webbie was the first version I heard.
Fasho he a legend
The first 2 minutes I literally thought that was plies and t pain talking 😂😂💯
Took me 8😂
Facts, I was like where's his accent? Lol
So that's not plies?
@@brandonhoward3679lmao right???
Bro that is plies lmao
One of the greatest artists of the 2000s. His run from 2006 - 2010...
Legendary!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
2004-2010
In history. He actually made history
T-Pain stood on business for creative control & held the door open for Plies without knowing who he was. That’s Florida hospitality for ya.
It don’t matter where your from, when you heard it, or where you at in any point in your life…when this song comes on you gonna let it play. Lol
Me and my ex later bm used to play dat everyday in da whip when we took a break I couldn’t listen til we reunited 😂
facts❤🔥
On God. It’s just a hood feel good classic
That explains the webbie version after alll these years!! I still like Webber’s version better 🔥🔥
Goin to listen to shawty now
Love this for TPain lol really made “Nappy Boy Radio” a thing.
Can’t help but think back to “Kiss, Kiss” Chris Brown back in like 2008 and T-Pain ad-libing on it “This is Nappy Boy Radio Liveeeeeee”
Goat.
Full circle moment
It was 2007 but that’s close though I still was bumping this song in 08 as well
spoke it into existence
Still on rotation on my playlist called "I forget I'm old" on Spotify 😂
“Man what them boys gonna do for me” 😂
Drumma Boy needs to talk about how No Hands came about . When that song came on the radio it dominated every other song. With Waka Flocka, Rosco Dash, And Wale. I was in elementary school break dancing to that song at 9 years old.
It's not even a break dancing song wtf?
If by break dancing you mean throwin ass, then yes absolutely
I was in college damn I'm old lol
Man me too same age and all at the school house with the school and speakers💯🔥😂
You was in elementary school when that's song dropped? Omg I'm old I was graduating highschool omw to college/military at that time 😂
Shawty is one of my close deceased friends favorite songs before he died, every time I hear it I think him him bumping it loud in the projects! ❤🙏🏾
He beat tho ?
May his soul rest peacefully ❤
R.I.P 🙏🏾❤️
I’m here a year later to say R.I.P to the homie ❤🙏🏿
🙏🏿♥️
That shawty put plies on the map quick!! I'm a Texas boy but I was living in Jacksonville Florida when that song came out, every Florida nigga was bumping plies.
Facts
He was on the map before that
@@BEATSbyDGIBYou're right he was on the map b4 hand, but it was more on a street level and not commercially... Although the streets are the ones who make the world/radio eventually love it.
I was a sophomore at Ribault (Jacksonville) during that time...what a time to be alive
My fave pain hook besides “she got it” by 2 pistols 🔥
My favorite 🥰😍🥰
Constant listen till date
Ayyyeee🔥🔥
That's a slept on record also T pain and Tay Dizm Chevy recorded
I like that one too
T. Pain ruined this story with his interruptions
8 years ago fiend told me personally he was involved with the song. I’m glad they shout him out
It literally took me eight minutes into the video to realize that wasn’t Plies talking 😂
😂😂😂 same here
Facts, he said “I had met Plies”. 🤔
Me too!😂😂😂
I thought I was the only one 😂😂😂
@@Missblaak you thought plies was a producer? Or when he said he met plies, you thought he was high?
Plies "The Real Testament" album was too 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Mite be his best album
And song 01. mite be the hardest intro ever

100% I was in prison when that album came out. Track number 1 was fire. I was listening to that on my cd player on repeat.

I swear to this day plies n pain need a joint album, still plies 100% real nigga is a southern diamond
Agreed! They’re a really good duo on songs it’s like the chemistry is perfect
They both from Florida too
That record is a classic… turn it on today and it feels like it came out current era. Drumma Boy got hella classic records.
It’s a classic til this day!! You can’t play this at a party or club and it be silent!! Shit goes UP‼️‼️ fine like wine
“My daddy said listen to this beat” 😭😭😭😭😭
😂😂😂😂 pain hell lol
The way I scrempt! 😭😭🤣🤣🤣
I’m born and raised in Florida (St. Petersburg) to be exact. That song was a super smash hit in 06’. I was in 8th grade when it came out. Plies definitely killed that song. I’m glad he got it cause I couldn’t imagine no one else on it at that time or now. Some things are just meant. Shout out T-Pain for muscling his way for that to happen.
I'm from across the bridges in Tampa and Plies' bars were on point. No wonder T-Pain wouldn't do this song without him!
Damn wow in that year I would've I left high school 6 years ago back then I was 24 now in my forties and I'm still loving that song we in the Caribbean would buss the radio or whatever we were listening at high volume when that song started playing the 90s to early part of 2000 was nice
I'm from st.pete too. Check my page Fam. Love 727
You tripping that was Webbie song first
That shawty song ran florida lol so good , plies version was definitely the best one
Fucc no plies trash Webbie waaay better
Naw webbie version better
For one. I didn’t even know that was a Drumma beat. Sheesh man this nigga has an under appreciated amount of hits.
Second.. I am crying laughing at TPain imitating beat tags. Lmaaaoo.
Guy looks like Plies. Was confused for a moment there
I sholl was like why Plies talking about making beats 😂
Damn me too thought it was plies till they started talking about plies 😂
T pain definitely changed the music industry
The Shawty remix beat was even crazier 🤯🔥🔥
Maaannn what plies, pleasure p and trey did to that remix was dope af
Facts!!!!!!!!!!!
Big facts but the way Pleasure P ended it, epic classic
I was just listening to it yesterday
Yea dats my favorite
I went to high school in south Florida my senior year 2007. T pain made the two records that defined my high school times with buy you a drank and shawty. Salute to pain man certified legend I hope he knows it!
Texas Class of 07 facts
Being in middle school during the peak t pain years was amazing.
Him & Rocko gotta be brothers lol
😂😂 I always said they look alike too. Same vibe too
Bro sound like 21 savage
I’m glad they gave it to that boy plies because I feel like that song couldn’t be any better. This song is a classic and one of my all time top 5 2000s songs. It’s gonna always be a banger

Shawty was a anthem Best summer ever
The original version had Trey Songz on it
Wait I thought this was webbie song first
I spoke too soon they cleared it up
I ain’t gone hold you that Webbie Version was hard
That’s the version I was introduced to FIRST. Because of that I felt like plies stole the song lol
@@ayedemo4555 😂😂😂 me too bro then webbie said later on he wasn’t even feeling his version
I AINT EVEN KNOW WEBBIE HAD 1 WTF.
Definitely an anthem at the time... still a favorite of mine...💯💯💯
Nostalgia. 2005-2009 some of the best music created. SNS. T-pain, Gucci, plies, Rocko, lil Wayne.. shawty lo… some of my favs! Just brings me back to my teenage years! Thank you for creating memories for us!❤❤❤
What a time to be alive 💪🏾🏆
The hook on “she got it” by 2 pistol’s is the best by T-Pain
Facts! I love Shawty too. He put so much in both.
Tpain knows he made that song a hit, plies ain't murk them verses
You tripping. 2 Flawda legends made a anthem
I was at the video shoot of this song. I was in the hood in Orlando (Parramore) hanging out with some friends and another one of my friends came up to us and said “Plies down the street filming shawty.“ The song was making waves in Orlando before the video came out. I was never in the video but just was watching from the street. I think Orlando was the first city that really caught on to Plies and he came to Orlando to show love back.
Webbie had the hardest version TILL THIS DAY !!!
I didn't realize that wasn't plies until 6 minutes in. I'm too high😂
This is the first time I’ve ever heard the back story to this, I never knew what actually happened with that beat between Plies having it and Webbie having it. Webbie killed his version too
“Its my baby daddy on the beat”😂😂😂
T pain is beyond a legend. Thank you for making my childhood memories. 🔥💯
Had a blast this night 😩🤣🤣
Gave us an amazing episode!
Two REAL legends in the game . Drumma & Pain !
Shawty and Low in the same night is one crazy parlay 🔥
T Pain and Akon both helped plies get to another level in the industry
Fire song, it came out when I was locked. Everytime I hear it reminds me of my whole transformation, that’s the magic of music. We not gone talk about the Shawty remix wit Trey and Pleasure.
She ruined the story 🤨
😂😂 " listen to my daddies beats " 😂😂
I actually heard Shawty from Webbie & Fox way before plies released his & their songs were actually better
This story is crazy to hear because being Baton Rouge Webbie had a version of Shawty as that leaked around the time Plies version came out. As a Webbie fan I wanted that to be his song so bad for career. He had a couple hits but Shawty would’ve been the one
I heard Webbie's version in early 2007 thinking it was his song until I saw the video in mid-2007.
I actually heard his version before Plies and honestly I preferred Webbie version even tho Plies killed it too
@@MikeRoss26 same plies went crazy but I was a fan of Webbie version. Although I could be bias lol
I gotta search webbie version up i wanna hear it
Bruh that room set up is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for posting this. I always wanted to know about this. How time flies. One of my all time favorite song.
The last 30 seconds, he told that part many years ago. Was dope of him to give that to Plies. He did blow up. 💯
I thought this was plies no lie
I had to look twice
T pain tell the real origin story! You stole that song from me.. I was in your house and you had our compilation CD.. I wanted you to redo my hook and you stole it... I keep commenting under your posts thats why you even talking about the song all these years later.. You went platinum off my idea
That’s Crazy I Heard Webbie Version Of Shawty long Before Plies
A lot of people don't know but FIEND is a ghostwriter and producer....He was the A&R for Atlantic Records when they had T.I, Trick Daddy. PLIES, Twista , Fab so I'm pretty sure he ghostwrote for all them artists I just name
I love that! I love how they stood up for Plies 🔥💯
12yrs later “Shawty” still in rotation on God 💯🔥
TO THIS DAY!!
I heard a Webbie version as well but the Plies joint was better!
Tpains music will always be turned up to 100 whenever it comes on no matter where I'm at. He the fucking goatttt. Silver & gold will always be my birthday anthem too !!!
Real 1’s remember Webbie had it first. Plies took it to where Webbie couldn’t unfortunately. They both were hard af🔥🔥🔥🔥
Watching this clip I thought he was plies I was wondering why he sounded like that until he started talking about plies lol 😊
🤣🤣 me too I was like his voice deeper than Mickey Mouse Plies
T-pain has always been a feature king for me. Top 5 feature killers!
RIP Ferrell "Ensayne Wayne" Miles who also had a hand in the Shawty best.
Right!!! He was a good dude!
You -I was waiting for this comment! Ensayne Wayne was my mentor ❤RIP
Webbie did this song best SHAWTY
They shouldn’t have kept her question in. They could have edited it out. It makes her look incredibly stupid.
T-Pain is a goddamn musical genius bruh.
Webbies version was circulating heavy in my area but plies was definitely better
This jam is timeless
I love that song so many good memories I love Plies whole album The Real Testament 😊
T-Pain said give Plies the song or take me off.
Always believe even when everyone else don't! 💪🔥💯 #kurtmoradogotbeats
6:46 there’s always a lil truth too a joke 😂😂😂.
That’s real from T pain, wish more bigger artist gave him respect.
Shut up T Pain let him talk lol😅
Holy sh*t get to the damn point
Webbie version cold too!
There is a theme of label execs and A&Rs who think that hot is having the biggest artists on record but don't actually realise they have a hot record when they have one.
what about the young steff version y'all recorded in Florida ?
Fiend still raps his mixtape game is crazy
Webbie’s version was hard too
On god
This was the first single i ever purchased in my life. I was like 8 😭❤️🔥 i love t pain! This & im sprung where the first pieces of music i ever bought ❤️🔥
Freshman year high school 04-07 A good time for music the south came in my city the chi was booming reggaeton was booming bachata was booming we was like this era is the best for music!
You aint lying man. In 04 I was a freshman, class of 08, and that era was full of all kinds of different music being made. I’m from the suburbs of Chicago so it was popping around that time, simple times I guess lol
@@andrewbeltran725no lie bro we had the best era crazy and good times.
I wrote the original version of shawty on a compilation cd and tpain took my chorus
Yall steal so much beats, thats why a tag is needed
I go back a and watch the shawty video… you can tell t pain and pies ain’t even friends you can see the awkward energy
So love that song, they both did it for me, I feel like if one was missing it wouldn’t be the same
T-pain jus want let him talk🤣🤣🤣🤣
Webbie did it the hardest tho, I could never really feel plies version bc I heard Webbies 1st 🔥🔥🔥
Webbies version was nowhere near as good as the final version
This let's you know how little record executives know. Most not even from the culture of hip hop. Yet they get to tell artists that are straight from the streets or some still in the streets what's hot. U gotta stay with your ear to the streets and in the know to understand what people will deem hot. They just gate keepers
T-pain was the voice of the early 2000ks🎉
It’s the feet tapping on the couch for me!! 😂
Who went and listened to it after watching this?
It was original for the RnB artist young steff
Aint no tellin who hands my beats will fall in.
One day the world will know Brashun Higgins.
That "tag" talk was comedy.
Webbie version was the best to me
