I would prioritize a better form and your home's natal Flying Star chart and only then apply a yearly Flying Star. Especially now since there are only 4 months left in this year. The next year the annual stars will be different. A quieter room where you can place your bed in a command position probably your best option. If you can also do your home's natal Flying Star chart based on a building's facing direction and the year it was built or substantially remodeled, it will give you more clues.

I've never suggested placing a glass of water near the stove. As far as I know, you want to keep the Fire of the stove strong (it relates to wealth) and not have any water close by. Especially if the visiting Star #9 is in the SW. If you are worried about too much fire for the relationship aspect, then strengthen your relationship in other areas such as bedroom, for example. Good question. I didn't recommend it because #2 is not as bad now in Period 9 as it used to be in Period 8. Also, SE is a home of Wood Element. Wood Destroys Earth (#2 is Earth Star), so the influence is diminished further. Six coins is also a good classical cure for #2. But if you or your family members have health issues and health is important this year, you can certainly place a Wu Lou in the SE. If your bedroom is in the SE or stove or any other important area where you spend time, by any means add a Wu Lou and even place a wind chime outside. In the video it is hard to give a detailed advise for every case. Hope this helps :)

Any family member can be affected, but mostly those with preexisting health issues, a weak immune system or people who spend a lot of time in the affected room. It also depends on their personal Four Pillars of Destiny or Bazi chart to complicate things further.. The best thing is to place a talisman and forget about it. It should not be fear based, because it breaks your spirit. Take everything light heartedly and do your best. Doing best doesn't necessarily mean doing perfect :)

For the most part, it is the natal Water Star that interacts with the Yearly Star, but if the Mountain Star is more active in a room, then the Yearly Star will influence the Mountain Star.

Here is how I place Pi Yao: If the afflicted area is your front door, place a small statue inside facing the door (looking at the door). If you have a large statue suited for the outside use, place it looking out just like Fu Dogs are placed. Most people have small statues for the indoor use only. You can place it either facing the affected direction (this year Tai Sui is in the SE. You can also place it in the NW, which is where Sui Po is), or face it inside the room if it makes more sense aesthetically. Sometimes if the statue is visible in the room and it is placed at a weird angle, it doesn't feel right, so use your judgment. In this case I prefer it to look right rather than properly facing the direction. Hope this makes sense. Remember, Feng Shui is not only science, but an art too :)

Yes, SW has great energy this year. Do not face SE or N this year. I cannot advise on which direction you must face. It depends on a room configuration and your Kua number (calculated based on your DOB). It’s best that you have a solid wall behind you and a view from the window on your side. If you can implement this, it is more important than the direction. If you have two possible facing directions then find out your Kua number which will give you your four best facing directions.
Fire Element is great in the SW this year. You can see multiple examples of how to enhance the energy in the SW in this video at about 5 min 20 sec mark. Reds and purples are great and so are bright lights and crystals.
