Finally, another update! ALSO, all of the little pimples I had when I filmed this video a week ago are GONE! They’re completely flattened out, so I’m currently pimple free and it feels amazing!! Let me know how you guys like these acne progress videos! And what other topics about acne/skincare should I make?
Just stumbled upon your video and I'm so glad that someone talks about birth control helping with acne. I have been on birth control for half a year and I've struggled with acne now for about 7-8 years. I've now been prescribed a higher dose pill to balance out the testosterone and I'm so excited to finally have clear skin. Before I had to eat super restrictive and still had acne. Now I wake up and actually like my skin. Congrats on your positive experience!
That's wonderful news! My 14 yr old has been legit suffering w acne and blackheads on her face neck and back since she was 10. Derm kept giving creams. Finally got my family doc to prescribe her Lolo birth control. She's only been on it a week. Fingers crossed. How is you skin these days?
Yes birth control saved my life as well. But this is a temporary solution. Whenever I stop taking pills I breakout after a month or so. Nothing matters if I control my diet, other meds or not. We all need a natural, side effects free solution
I also heard about that... I did some research and it's saying that oral contraceptives have to contain both estrogen and progesterone to help reducing acne, pills that only contain progesterone can actually make acne worse. www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/acne/birth-control-for-acne-treatment#1 However, even with Beyaz or Yaz that contain both hormones, it still takes on average two to three months to see significant result. Some people say that they can see results within few weeks, others say that their acne got worse before starting to clear up. Seems like there results are inconsistent and are just different for everyone... Sorry for this lengthy reply, hope that it helps :)
You should go get a blood test to check if your hormone is imbalances and also check if you are low on some vitamin that your body needs. For me, I use to take birth control for medical reason. I have ovarian cysts. After removing it the doctor prescribe me on birth control pills to prevent me to have reoccurrence. And before this I was also a pimple face since I was young. Everything were great, my face, my skin, my hair is so so nice when I’m on the pill. After two years I’ve stop my birth control pill. I was so depressed cause I got so many pimples on my face and my skin was oily as hell and I was so confused cause my mood was at all time low, I was really depressed! It was like that for almost 2 years!. I’ve tried so many things to control it. But I found one thing that works for me which is vitamin B, I still don’t know which vitamin I’m missing. But I’m taking vitamin B complex right now. I’m going to take a blood test to see which vitamin I’m lacking in my body soon. My skin right now is not as great as when I’m on birth control pill but it is definitely much much better than before. But everybody is different. And you have to find what you are missing. My point is, birth control pills it’s only temporary. You have to find something to fix you for long term. Hope you find your fix! Sending you love from Malaysia! *sorry for bad English*
Thank you for sharing your experience, because I am in the same situation right now, I am going to start this birth control, but I am kind of scary that it worse my skin, now that you mention that blood test, I will try that, have a great day 😁

@@hlog9378 hi! i’m so sorry i didn’t respond for so long, i really do hope your daughter is doing good nowadays ❤️, i really know how it can effect your confidence when you’re a young teen and suffer from acne. i also have acne on my back, but i don’t know how to solve that yet. but for my face; i don’t know if she wears make- up, but what helped me too is not wearing any make up for a while (few weeks!) without putting anything on it (and not even washing your face). it’s called the ‘cave man regimen’ and that helped for me first. but when i wanted to wear it again, i made sure i washed my beauty products everyday (sponges, brushes etc) and used parfume/alcohol free make up wipes. after removing, i would use vaseline on my whole face to moisturise and go to sleep. that worked for me too. i stopped with the pill because of mood swings... oh. and practise self - love together. maybe it’ll help a bit too. ❤️
Your skin looks great! I’ve been on a birth control pill for my acne and I’m on my second month now. Tbh it has cleared the top of my cheeks a little but I’m still getting almost the same amount of active acne from before and it’s so annoying. Honestly, I recommend going off of the pill. Birth control literally destroyed my skin. I used to have nice skin, hardly ever got pimples. I started BC back when I was like 17 and stayed on it until I was 24, then got off of it. The past three years have been pretty much hell. Not only has it made me suffer immensely emotionally/mentally, but it made my periods a nightmare as far as cramping/PMS goes. Truly miserable. I have been experiencing severe acne for the past two years (when I say severe, I mean SEVERE). I seriously wish I never ever touched BC. When I get my acne under control, I'm going to post videos/photos and share my experience, because people need to know to stay away from the BC. Currenlty undergoing bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and using topicals from my derm. Only been doing this for a few months, it's going to take me a while. But please, stay away from BC ladies.... I know it seems to help make your skin look nice while on it, of course not getting pregnant and sometimes even stopping your period. It is not worth it what it really does to your body. Bioidentical hormones are different than chemical/synthetic hormones in BC pills... Please save yourself many years of hell, by never ever taking BC or stopping as soon as possible. If you're suffering from hormonal acne that means your hormones are imbalanced and you need to get them balanced out. Work with a FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE DOCTOR/HOLLISTIC DOCTOR that specializes in hormone treatment. They will probably have you keep track of your cycle (unless you already do, which you should be doing for sure), then during a certain time in YOUR PERSONAL cycle, you will have to get the hormones checked (for women, we have to get them checked at a very specific time in our phases). I did a saliva test, which is a lot better than blood tests, but urine tests are apparently really good too. I know, saliva and urine are better than blood tests, it sounds daft but it's the truth. BALANCE THEM HORMONES WITHOUT BC! Spiro is also truly not the cure, it's simply 'treating' it...
Differs from person to person, and what type of pills you take. The mini pill was the worse, I’m now on Loryna. Loryna helps with cramps but I might switch back to Sprintec which was really good on my skin
I took birth control for my acne too and was acne free the 3 years I was on it! It was so amazing. But now that I’m off of birth control my acne has come back terribly. It’s been 5 months of being off it and my skin hasn’t cleared up yet :( birth control usually masks the problem and doesn’t permanently get rid of it which really sucks.
When I first started getting acne after I went off, I tried a product called “Benzagel Acne Gel” and it worked amazing at calming the acne and the redness. It really helped some of my acne. The only thing is it can be drying. I eventually gave up using it lol.. But you could give it a try! I got it from Walmart. My acne is still bad and I contemplate all the time going back on the pill to get my clear skin back.. But I love being off of it.
It’s happening to me. I’m off the pill 8 months now and my acne is really terrible 😭 using differin for 1 week now and I’m purging badly 😩😭. I don’t know what to do anymore😰😢

Maybe in the future check for hormone imbalances especially since you also mentioned having irregular periods before and because of the hormonal acne. Actually this would already classify as having PCOS according to the 'Rotterdam criteria'. Basically when you have 2 of the following 3 criteria you can be diagnosed with PCOS: 1. Menstrual irregularities 2. Clinical signs of hyperandrogenism (acne, oily skin, hair loss etc.) or elevated male hormones in the blood 3. Polycystic ovaries. So you don't necessarily have to have cysts on your ovaries to have PCOS. Another important condition to get checked for is late onset/non classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia which can also present itself with irregular periods and persistent acne. Symptoms will change from person to person. If this is the case you can always start with a very low dose of dexamethasone and that way you won't have to depend on taking birth control pill for your acne to be gone (in case someday in the future you might want to have children!)
The problem id when you leave the pill. Right now im trying to be more healthy and hormone free and after 8 years of taking the pill and having perfect skin I am breaking out a LOT
It is a very personal experience... Personally, I never went on oral contraceptive pills but, I do plan to... However, it can be frustrating when you have to wait three to six months to see a derm which is most likely the case in North America... Good Luck and hope that it helps. :)
I tried birth control for a year because of my PCOS a few years ago, and I had a negative experience. I started getting really bad acne on one side of my face( I never had acne before) and I'm not sure if it caused it, but I also started feeling depressed. I've heard different experiences from mine, that were positive, but I'm never going back. I reccomend if you go on birth control, make sure to monitor your mood and skin closely.
I don’t know what to doooo. My face was super oily and I started taking it and I still have acne and now my skin is dry to the point to where it hurts to smile.
For anyone that can help... I just started birth control and I'm on about my second week. I usually would break out on my forehead but now ive been getting small pimples on my cheeks and chin. Would should I do? Will it goes away with time?
Hi! Which birth control brand are you taking? I’m taking loryna which is a generic of Yaz and I’m going to consider switching if I don’t see results in a couple months 😇
Merceline Tran hi! I didn’t see any real results so I switched to chateal and I’ve been on that and It’s not making my acne worse. with chateal last year (I’ve taken before) it has cleared up my big cystic acne so I’m taking it now. Chateal actually has a progesterone that is known to be linked to acne but weirdly enough for me this pill has already been working faster at clearing up my skin than loryna. I think cutting out glasses of milk helped me too. I still eat cheese and stuff with milk. Also using a cleanser with salicylic acid and a face cleanser brush has helped ❤️ I also think Mario badescu drying lotion has helped my acne clear a bunch too!
Hello, so with me is a strange thing happening. I took birth control pill for acne as well. The funny part is that the acne from my back and shoulder area is like gone but I got all now in my face. I did SELF experiment where I did not take birth control pills for like 15 days and my face went from 5 pimples a day to 0 ...... now I restarted the pills and oh my gosh I got like 10 pimples in each side of my face. such a hell thing. I am sharing this so maybe can find other people who had or have same condition. getting Appointment for gynacologist now....

@@leora2455 it was bad enough that i was going to go on accutane but my dermatologist told me i might be allergic to accutane so i went on diane 35 instead.
birth control is a synthetic pill of estrogen and progesterone that help balance your hormones to prevent excess androgens from causing acne. it's usually a temporary fix. accutane is a synthetic form of vitamin A, which can cure your acne forever. however it's a very serious drug and you have to be on birth control to take it because if you become pregnant while on it, it causes birth defects.
Leon The Great Birth control isn't just for sex and is more often than not used to treat other things. Many people are on it to help their acne. A few years ago I went on the pill because my period stoped coming and being on the pill brought it back. I'm now on it again to treat my acne

Oh my...that's upsetting. How are you managing now?
@@hlog9378 my face is back to normal now. My acne is bad but not as worse as it was.
How was your acne now
@@mclenonade3267 my skin recovered from the medicine and went back to its normal, oily, and acne filled self.
Are you still taking Spiro? :0 or just birth control? This was so helpful!!!
Hey your skin is looking great! Do you take spiro with birth control or just birth control now?

Okay, but what birth control are you taking? That's pretty important info. There's like a a hundred different kinds.
For anyone that can help... I just started birth control and I'm on about my second week. I usually would break out on my forehead but now ive been getting small pimples on my cheeks and chin. Would should I do? Will it goes away with time?
Any update? This is happening to me on a combo pill.
@@chelseaclark8251did it go away?
Hi! Which birth control brand are you taking? I’m taking loryna which is a generic of Yaz and I’m going to consider switching if I don’t see results in a couple months 😇
I’m believe I’m taking a generic brand of Trinessa. :) How’s your experience been with Yaz?
So far it’s been 1 month and I don’t think I really see any improvement but I guess it’s too soon to tell 😂
Isabell Fernandez Hi, have you seen any results? I started Loryna a week ago so I’m waiting for results too! Good luck!
Isabell Fernandez hey guys! Did u breakout or experience flare pimples as a side effect?
Hello, so with me is a strange thing happening. I took birth control pill for acne as well. The funny part is that the acne from my back and shoulder area is like gone but I got all now in my face. I did SELF experiment where I did not take birth control pills for like 15 days and my face went from 5 pimples a day to 0 ...... now I restarted the pills and oh my gosh I got like 10 pimples in each side of my face.
such a hell thing. I am sharing this so maybe can find other people who had or have same condition. getting Appointment for gynacologist now....
hello u said u dealed with acne since 10 years... how old r u ? / and positive energy for u!!!!🌈🌈
Mine is breaking me out like crazy
hey mine too!
Im taking birth control for about 14 days now and i hate the side effect because i have this mood swing and depression.
Buen Buen I vomited and had heart palpitation increase
How is your mental health now? 🇨🇦🤞🌈
My 14 yr old has been legit suffering w acne and blackheads on her face neck and back since she was 10. Derm kept giving creams. Finally got my family doc to prescribe her Lolo birth control. She's only been on it a week. Fingers crossed. How is you skin these days?
What item would you recommend to remove a lot of acne? I watched you since your "How to make pore strips work better" video. I'm breaking out a lot. I can't go to a dermatologist bc I don't have medical insurance, and I can't afford for one to consult.. I love your videos ♡♡♡
Also, what birth control pill are you using?? ♡
false advertisement
I read one of her other comments and she said that she’s using a “generic type of Trinessa”.
Does pill cause pimples at first take?
Paano Po gamitin ang Althea?
Ur so prettyyyy! 🥺
I just started birth control a week ago. I’ve have a very inflamed breakout. How long did it take for your skin to just adjust and get back to normal after you started?
Jillian Hall mine took about a month? Ur pH levels and hormone levels need to find a new balance , it takes time but my skin still breaks out due to stress even on the pill
@@abbielea8266 how do you know?? I hope not cause my acne causes me stress.
I have similar skin to you and the oily ness too should I go on birth control?
I’m about to start birth control because I have horrible acne on my chest that I can’t get rid of and I also get very painful cramps with my period. I can’t start it until my next period, but I really hope it works!!!!
Miranda Fitch how did it go?
HOPE WORLD I’m only about 2 weeks into it so I haven’t seen results yet
Miranda Fitch hope things will get better! Keep us updated if u don’t mind💛
Loryna is great for cramps, I get little to no cramps at all! But Sprintec is great for your skin! I wish they were combined…
Who did suggest u to take birth control? Ur dermatologist? As i know, they always suggest isotret

@@aparajita8 yes accutane but other brands are not. such as acnetrex and acnotin
so scared to start birth control
Olivia Guban why
A lot of people breakout bad after stopping
Olivia Guban girl I’d say don’t take it for your skin if you don’t have to. I’ve been on it for 3 years now, it absolutely helped my skin but I can’t get off it and it’s given me heaps of other issues, please don’t be like me and go the natural way, it’ll be worth it in the end!
Hi Michelle
Thanks a lot for the video.
I have a Q, did you take birth control with spiro ?( at the time u recorded this video)
And how was ur diet ? Did u eat sugar and dairy ?( at the time u recorded this video)
You are so sweet. I like your nature ❤️
What pill is the one with estrogen and progesterone
Lusia - rhcp YAZ is one example, research some other ones! :)
hi girly are you still on spironolactone?
Hey! No I’m not. I switched to BC several months ago and I’ve been liking it a lot better!
I was asking because I used to take just spironolactone and then now three months January 17th I will be on BC. I just stopped spironolactone a week ago and I was nervous about it. How is working now?? You beautiful by the way!!😊

Use curology it helps your acne
Whats the diff between birth control & accutane
birth control is a synthetic pill of estrogen and progesterone that help balance your hormones to prevent excess androgens from causing acne. it's usually a temporary fix. accutane is a synthetic form of vitamin A, which can cure your acne forever. however it's a very serious drug and you have to be on birth control to take it because if you become pregnant while on it, it causes birth defects.
0___- no need birth control if she’s not having sex, right
Leon The Great Birth control isn't just for sex and is more often than not used to treat other things. Many people are on it to help their acne. A few years ago I went on the pill because my period stoped coming and being on the pill brought it back. I'm now on it again to treat my acne
