    Possibly the coolest rig video I've ever seen. Much love for the pit guys - unsung heroes of musical theatre.

    According to Twitter he's still doing BOM - you guys should go back and see if he's changed much! And do more Broadway guitarists please! It's so interesting to see how normal, working musicians are using gear.

    I love these pit and studio guys. Super tasty players who know how to serve the music instead of serving themselves. I love any guitar player who understands that he is part of the whole.

    Seems like a great guy, terrific player, and an artist with an awesome gig. Nice to get some insight into what goes on in the Broadway pit.

      It's hilarious . . . Especially if you're familiar with Mormon beliefs and family dynamics. You certainly don't have to be, but there are some jokes that are deep cuts relative to LDS doctrine.

    I know about those types of strat body types but in my experience a single coil pickup is not the best pickup to use on a heavy amp driven sounds, but works great on clean laggato like stuff, my 10 years of playing metal have never been a good one playing with single coils. And Les Pauls are not just for show, I own 4 of them and i take them on the road and they sound like a strat with humbuckers but heavier.

    Nah thats definitely a Takamine. If you look really closely at 3:42 ish you can see the flair off the left of the "T"

    If you look closely at the classical guitar he says is a Takamine, you can see on the headstock that it is infact a Tanglewood guitar, a british guitar company which actually makes a very good acoustic guitar. I could be wrong, but I don't think so, anyone have any ideas?

    Strats are probably used more for metal than any other guitar, gibson included. Ever heard of the superstrat...? Charvel, Jackson, ESP, Ibanez - the biggest names in metal guitars are all strats. Les Pauls sound great but are cumbersome logs that are barely playable, are only for show, and are only really cool to GnR type fans. Working guitarists use stratocasters.

      PRKVTN Personal opinion only, although I play several body styles (including both Les Paul and Strat.) Do more research next time, buddy. I happen to be a working guitarist myself.

    @csharger : you don't know anything about this musical do you? It totally bashes Mormonism, and organized religion as a whole

    • @billyrouse4813
      @billyrouse4813 6 років тому

      Adam Davy you know the meaning of the word “satire”, correct? Organized religion outside of Mormonism isn’t bashed on this show.

    • @MikeP2055
      @MikeP2055 9 місяців тому

      It's not necessarily out to bash Mormons. It uses Mormonism as a jumping off point to satirize dogmatic belief, blind faith, family pressure, clashes of cultures, misunderstandings, etc. There's a really good line at the very end, which I've unfortunately forgotten, that essentially says, "We're all clueless and full of shit, but we can still get along." Problem is, the line is delivered right after a great joke so it gets lost in the crowd's laughter.
      P.S. I am not Mormon. I'm from Salt Lake City but I'm a lifelong atheist and my family is composed of very liberal Mormons; we cuss, drink, have tattoos, have sex and cohabitate before marriage, get medicinal marijuana from dispensaries, don't go on missions or even to church for that matter, we all love my gay cousin and nephew unconditionally . . . You get the point.
      A small percentage of Mormons are militant believers and really fkng suck, but most Mo's in SLC are pretty chill. My best friend is a devout Mormon who served a mission to Japan in '99 and wears "garments" (Mormon underwear) but LOVES Lagwagon, Bad Religion, and NOFX and smokes more nugs than anyone I've ever met.
      Sorry, this comment really got away from me. I'm all doped up on pain meds for these goddamn shingles on my neck and head. Those fkrs hurt like all hell and typing distracts me. ✌️
      EDIT: D'oh! I forgot that you mentioned "organized religion as a whole." My entire reply was pointless, hahaha. 🤦‍♂️ Fkng hell, time for a dope-nap.

    I'd hate to get stuck in a pit... this guy seems like he enjoys his job but to me, it seems like it would suck to not see your audience and you'd feel like your in a hole...
