  • A little video update... while the power is down today. And a new lesson we've had about the integrated greenhouse-root cellar: you can leave the root cellar door open and it keeps it from freezing in the greenhouse even at -2.5F outside.

Thanks Ben! Beautiful & informative. I have watched the video Geoff Lawton did on your farm in the summer, and have imagined what your farm looks like in the winter. I am AMAZED to see what you are able to grow year-round in your green house utilizing cellar "warmth".

It is beautiful. Snowed here in Maine...but we still have power. Very surprised we still do. Stay warm.

Great video Ben, thanks so much! It was nice to see your ducks and geese. I lost a lot of hatchlings, chicks and adults to a Fox this year.

Amazes me what an "engineering gap" most homes are when it comes to power loss... So ridiculous IMHO.

LOL guess all that snow is a matter of perspective.
From where I sit her near Atlanta Georgia all that snow looks like my own personal vision of hell.

Well you got way more snow than we do up in Bangor. Its raining now and most of that will be gone soon.

That roof looks like a 12 pitch not a 10 pitch? The peak looks like a 90 angle. I would recommend some deep cycle batteries. Thanks for the video. Looking to build a green house. Cheers

Pretty sure they are all 10 pitch here - 12 looks incredibly steep.

It really is beautiful there. One of my first thoughts from this video is Winter Wonderland. You should take a still and sell as post cards or prints. Janice

We use batteries indeed- but not for large loads - just for crucial needs as mentioned...
