I just beat the original Turok on N64 on Hard, one thing that's interesting to know is that the Remaster changes level key placement in Treetop Village for exemple, on the N64 version, one the key was very hard to get, it has been changed with the Quad missile luncher on the Remaster version, it's the key near the rope bridge near the end of the level, some of the Chronosceptor pieces were damn near impossible to find too, the 3rd level one comes to mind, at the end of the level where the huge pillars are, you have to spot the wall on the left side of the area and jump to climb it, on the N64 version it's very missable due to the fog, and one last thing, when using the gatling you can actually speed up the fire rate using a trick, first you need to be near gatling gun ammo pickups, you need to hold the fire button the entire time for the trick to work, just use all of your existing ammo first and when you reach 0, continue to hold the fire button don't release it, this will make the gatling gun rotating without firing, this is the crucial part : you have to wait like 10 seconds doing this BEFORE picking up the ammo, continue holding the fire button and pick up the ammo, the gatling will now fire twice as fast, it's not practical to use in regular level but comes it handy agains't the final boss the Campaigner since you can find plenty of ammo for the gatling gun to use.
I really tried to find that one on the third level but I broke down and looked it up. I was a little upset I always missed it, because I use to get the ammo behind the warp to the boss but I never saw the stupid vines.
This game had the best weapons and the best bosses. The animations were some of the best out there, better than many other FPS, including Goldeneye 64. The music was dark but still great and very fitting for the game's atmosphere. Level design had its highs and lows. There are some memorable areas, but also many frustrating areas. I think the worst enemy in this game is yourself ( or your character ) because it always felt like you were sliding when you were moving and you would often fall down. I think a big mistake was to have the Campaigner final boss right next to the T-Rex, which was by far the coolest boss.
Would've been nice if they'd included him throwing the Chronoscepter into the volcano and awakening the Primagen. But I guess they didn't have that idea yet.
It's weird, I'm so used to seeing these bosses emerge from darkness that when the entire boss arena is lit up they a) seem so much smaller and b) it takes away a bit of the atmosphere of the fight. I do enjoy the framerate though. The firerate of the weapons in particular, it's like they are playing a familiar tune but at double speed at times.
It was darker because of technical limitations. The N64 version couldn't render far without massive slowdown so they added "fog" to the game to decrease the render distance and keep the framerate smooth (to a degree) .. In dark arenas like the T Rex arena that fog looked like darkness.
@@recht_voor_zijn_raap5506 I am aware, this was pretty common practice on n64 games. pretty much all games did this, even games such as Rouge Squadron or Star Fox. Though, not sure if it is nostalgia but i think the games are better with the fog and darkness. Maybe not the fog all the time, but the darkness in the t-rex arena is something i much prefer to what we get in the remaster.
There is a bug on the T-Rex in the remaster where if you go up on the railing to the middle where the ammo spawns he just runs around in circles. Once in awhile he will get in there but you just run out til his attack is done then repeat.
Playing through the remastered version finally. When I beat the campaigner on the n64 version and the original pc version I remember he was also stupidly easy. just circle strafe forever, you will not die.
@@ep6253 Hey dumbshit, the words "im" and "dont" aren't real. I believe you are looking for "I'm" and "don't" which you won't find with your head so far up your ass.

Can't believe this game is 20 years old
Abel Mantor Right?

The 90's had the best video games ever made.
This video just reminded me that I was never brave enough to actually fight these bosses without cheats... I guess I'm buying Turok Remastered then
holy shit this game was really hard!

Back then when you’re health docent recover. It’s such a different experience.

There's options to turn off saturation and extended draw distance, for that authentic N64 feeling.

this game was fucking scary af when i was young
It’s like DOOM with dinosaurs
More like quake
Brings back memories
Thanks for uploading in hardmode.
Those bosses came to put some standars in FPSs
Tavorath This was actually just on normal lol
I love this game, I'm still playing on my xbox series, I love it.
The ending was "game over"
This game is an acid trip and a half.

The bosses in this game are so fun. I wish every stage had an end boss.
always loved how cool and realistic the mini gun looked and shot
The weapons in this game legit kicked ass!

04:36 in terms of theme, thats Turoks finest moment.
The bosses in this game were so creative i used to love this game growing up
Dat trex fight music went full fire tho.
David R. Ayyyy 🔥🔥🔥
The t-rex arena for the original was much darker tho...gave it a much more eerie vybz :-

Boss 1: The Ho-HummVee
Boss 2: Guy Fury
Boss 3: Colonel Rexington
Boss 4: The Big Bad Boss Bastard
Imagine today if Dino's were still alive. It'd be a crazy world! But we have crocodiles , sharks, bears, imagine what we haven't seen yet!!! Scary asf
That pray mantis can sure boogie.
HEY!
I remember that once in a while after a boss fight turok would glitch and have a broken leg or maybe it was intentional lol
....I AM...TUROK!!!
Onde of the best game of N64
Shao khan.
Played this when I was 6, legit used to have nightmares about a jeep trying to run me over
"Hey!"
As for me, Longhunter was the strongest boss, mantis was similar to T-rex and the Campaigneer was the weakest
勝利の舞いは欠かせないのね笑
they made Tal Set look like Mojao
Nombre Guey LOL
The t-rex's name is Thunder.
Impressive !
aweee yassss
The T-Rex is actually a Allosaurus
I loveed this game never knew history please somone
Fuck that jeep!
The first boss is harder than the rest of the game those hummers weren't even that bad just the guy with his cheap ass rifle and grenades
i hope they can actually make a legit turok evolution remastered, but i hope they remove chapters 2, 7, 11, 12, and 14
Nice 😊
Stupid question: how and where he put all these guns? 🤔
In his keister
And all the ammo? 100 pistol bullets is heavy, let alone 200 of them and all the other ammo types. And he can still jump that well?
In Adon's keister
I forgot just how bad a$$ this game was
