NYC's Upcoming NEW Waterfront : Greenpoint, Brooklyn Walk
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 лип 2024
- I walk through the upcoming NYC waterfront area of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. This waterfront used to be all industrial with a small playground. Now, tall skyscrapers are being constructed, and a quiet waterfront path with stunning views of Manhattan and Queens are available.

This is a far cry from the Greenpoint I once knew! Great that they are cleaning the Newtown Creek. Thanks for taking us to the lesser-known areas of this great city! New York City continues to grow and evolve.
I remember hanging out in the Greenpoint Piers when I was younger and playing handball at PS 126 best times of my life
I used to take the "G" train in 1975 when I lived in Brooklyn and worked in Queens. 2 1/2 hours a day on the subway! (Lots of stops!)
Holy gosh! It changed so much since I was there in 1990's up to 2013. All the warehouses are gone. Thx for the nice explanation. 👌🤠
Nice to see the Action Kid on his feet again. 🚶♂️
I wish they could build a bridge or something at Newtown Creek connecting Hunters Point. Thanks a lot for taking us there!
This video deserves applause.....many congrats!!!!!
Another great vid AK! It’s amazing how much this area is transforming. Thanks!
Great to know NY is developing
and growing so rapidly even places which were abondoned!!!
So many beautiful places to be seen in NYC. Great video! ❤️❤️
Fast Stream = Action Kid in express mode.
Another great video AK. Thank you so much for your hard work and your sense of wonder.😊
Thanks AD, I was planning to check out that area and now I can do it on it virtually first.
It's shocking how this area developed, amazing! Thank you so much for this
Very interesting and enjoyable tour. Thanks Action Kid!
Such a green and clean area with bunch of interesting stuff!!!
The City and Parks dept ,working with developers, has done a great job building parks along the river fronts.
The waterfront parks are turning out really beautiful!
nice find! my next trip to NYC I plan to check out Greenpoint. Thanks for the walk
And the rents continue to go up... even during a pandemic.. 😂🤣😂🤣I love it!!
Great video; very well done!
This was a great 👍🏼💕
Thanks for sharing
I grew up there. I have pictures of my Great Grandmother feeding chickens near Humboldt street
Wow, wish you can post that somewhere. What was her nationality?
Great Programming, Action-kid Nice Work!!!👍🎧📡
Thank you!
Missed premier.....I’ll watch later my friend.....thank you!
Wow! Greenpoint awesome and kinda queit I guess
Nice vid. I like the buildings that seem to fit together. I looked up the architects. I see that OMA an architectual fim also based in Rotterdam and active designing buildings there, is participating.
I'm the architect of that tetris building and yes that was the inspiration
great video. if you want a suggestion for a nice long walk go on atlantic ave. walking the whole length would make a nice video. have a good day
I use to live there on India Street. The Pencil Factory was the local bar.
New beginnings.......hello from Illinois. ty
I'm there doing the plumbing💪🏽💪🏽
Good Morning Action Kid! Have a great day!
You too!
I❤️BR👀KLYN

New york la ciudad donde caminar mas que loco nuevo produce dinero
My beautiful city I love you so much 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎
My birthday was the next day. I can walk there I live in nyc
You should do entire tour of greenpoint may take a bit but it’s not the biggest neighborhood in Brooklyn so you could do all the record in one day
Look at my old workplace across the water in Hunters Point South (City Harvest- brown building) 2:34 - 2:52,9:50-10:06 We used to sit outside on lunch and look at these new buildings being built around us and Not knowing Our Building is Next to be demolished and rebuilt for luxury housing😥😔😔
Hello ActionKid! Thank you for the uploaded video. I have a big request - can you record the N Oxford Walk area next time? I really care about it :) Thank You!
I'll take a look into it!
@@ActionKid Thank You, Thank You, SO MUCH! I'll be waiting
Waiting for a vídeo showing One Vanderbilt interiors
And a New walking 3th Avenue from 42 to 59 at 6 or 7 PM With Lights on
The buildings are they business or apartments? 🤔
Actionkid should change his "handle" to AmazingKid!
This area really has interesting History behind it, a good read. To think our forefathers started here, bringing their knowledge from other Countries to build in the era of1888, tyvm for the tour.
The scale of these new developments is absolutely egregious. Private developers are maxing out their sites with gargantuan towers, little of which will be affordable housing, and are visually and physically cutting off the neighborhood of green point from the water. I agree that this waterfront zone needs to be developed, so good on nyc for doing so, but the scale is much too drastic and there hasn’t been a comprehensive effort to knit the existing green point residential areas with the riverfront. Also, there is little to no public transport access in green point so this is going to cause a transit catastrophe. Green point will be very congested with this giant influx of people
ActionKid, I need to ask you this question and hope you will respond? I have watched so many of your videos until the very end which shows a red line under the video that I have watched but now the red line on so many videos are no longer there, I don't understand why there is no red line that shows I've watched your video? Why and is there anything I can do? Sorry, hope you understand my question?
Hey Rosa that red line is a progress bar, from where you left off, once you finish a video fully, it goes away, because the video is complete.
It's a youtube thing, and action kid doesn't have control over it, only youtube does.
From what I understand there's no "previously watched" icon that youtube supports at this time.
@@deliveryboy90 I thought that when you finished watching the video the red line stays on all the time because a lot of the other videos still have the red line from long ago. I know that Actionkid doesn't control it, I was wondering if he knew why. Thank you so much for responding to me I really appreciate it!
Joshua Shamah maybe you might know, I went back to look at all the videos and playlists I've watch over time and the progress bars are still on them and other videos and playlists there gone, why? Sorry, I don't mean to ask, I just don't understand!
I am going to live in this area green point in a one bedroom apartment
Enjoy 👏🏻
Where’s ur Escooter?
You take G train get off on India and Mahattan go north make a left at Green walk to water front
Can't be live chat
expensive highrises and no balconies? residents are birds living in a gilded cage! who will rent or buy at greenpoint?
The original bridge was demolished because the oil refineries needed larger barges to get thru. What a shame.
None of the polish emigrants can afford this I am sure.
its very nice here for sure but the only annoying this is that the parking will no longer be the same :(
awesome video though thanks for sharing
Lee Man Ki
Many people know that green point is developed
The rents are high in this area $1500 - 2500 a month. what, I'm looking for an apartment and that's what it costs. a great area but meh on price.
Hope your safe.....no one stocking you in Live Streaming
Harte and Co. Was a plastics factory. I think it was suppose to be covered to a school but because of chemicals and such that's not possible. It should be knocked down.
New york la ciudad donde te donan dinero por caminar y caminar.....y caminar.....y caminar
Greenpoint, Brooklyn
Population - 34,719 (1/4/2010)
Caucasian/European-American - 76.9%
African/'Black'-American - 1.2%
Latino/Latinx-American - 14.7%
Asian-American - 4.9%
I live in Long Island city
More homes for the wealthy.
no one in those areas can afford to live there
With the white population in rapid decline... which ethnic group is the target resident group for these expensive high-rises? NYC cannot be affordable like that all of its citizens. Perhaps these tall buildings are for highly paid immigrants...just saying.
Moreover, this rapid construction indicates a thriving economy, contrary to what the mass media is espousing. In short, where is the money coming from for all of the structures going up around the ciy?
@@Grillmeister Action Kid has documented significant business closures in the financial districts of NYC. There is also record of mass migration out of NYC as well...it will be interesting to see what the occupancy rate for these new residential and business structures will be in 5-10 years from now.
As these towers were planned a long time ago, will be interesting to see how they are marketed as far as pricing. As there is currently a glut of luxury apartments available - many with views and other amenities - there will be alot of competition for prospective tenants with $$$$$.
What a racist comment...but I'm quite sure you think it isn't. And the white population is not in rapid decline..it has increased, and still increasing. I was born here, still live here, so I know that.
