Visit Levanto, Italy: The Place to Begin or End Your Trip to Cinque Terre @nullacruising

Levanto, Italy, is a place to visit! This small seaside town dates back to the Romans and is known for its long sandy beach, panoramic views, and of course--seafood . Many visitors to the Cinque Terre use Levanto as the starting or ending point for their visit. Trains and boats to the five villages are available in Levanto, and there are various self-pay and display parking lots.
We visited Levanto as the weather was turning in mid-September. It was a cloudy day, but the views were stunning and air sweet from the lush plants and greenery. There are three campgrounds in Levanto that are typically full during the high season, but unknown to many it also has paid overnight public parking for caravans next to the train station. No services are available, but the parking area is lined with trees on one side and nature on the other.
We stopped to do our laundry and discovered this gem by accident. If you are visiting the Cinque Terre, don't miss Levanto. We had fun!
