Little correction - this Roman portrait is from 1st century BC. It was made during her life - other Roman portraits of her are indeed posthumous from 1st century AD, but not this one. This was from her lifetime.
Yes, it is from the House of Marcus Fabius Rufus, in a Pompeian style dated to the mid 1st century BC. You are right, other paintings from Pompeii and one from Herculaneum are all posthumous, but the one he used for the reconstruction is contemporary and during her lifetime, perhaps even while she was living in Rome as a guest queen.
Were any of us there? Did we have any interactions with these rulers? We can read all of the documents of the past and we can watch all the documentaries of the past that we want. Where does that lead us to?
This is one of my favorite facial reconstruction videos you have done so far. Cleopatra VII and the intriguing male figures who featured so deeply and significantly in her life and reign have always fascinated me. It's incredible to see them brought to life here based on their surviving representations. Looking forward to the next historical personalities you decided to work on.
Panagiotis your work is outstanding!!! I'm a very visual person so seeing these real faces approximations of ancient historical figures, makes me feel so much closer to history. Thank you for your work!!! Would you consider making Pythágoras or have you done him?
MAGNIFICO VIDEO¡¡ COMO SIEMPRE¡¡ IMPRESIONANTES IMAGENES DE ESTOS PERSONAJES¡¡ Y COMO OCTAVIO DESTRUYO EL RECUERDO DE JULIO CESARAL MATAR A SU HIJO¡ BRAVO¡¡ FELICIDADES ES INCREIBLE QUE CADA NUEVO VIDEO SUPERE AL ANTERIOR¡¡ GRACIAS
Another great video! Thanks for the recreation of these historical figures to give us some incites into what they may have looked like. Enjoy the historical information as well.
Awesome Video I loved the Native American. I saw the one you did 2 yrs ago. Would you consider doing Quanah Parkers and His Parents Brother, Cousins Rachel and Elizabeth?
That is likely wonderful to be watching every day. About Roman and Egyptian history is possibly interesting to know more .. I can accept with that. With my big heart, good loyalty . Maybe I suggest you to be watching another channel about Roman Empire history in Spanish language: Roma Imperial: El Reinado de los Cesares if you want. Thanks😊🙏. By the way, how is everything with you so far, Mr. Panagiotis Constantinou??
@@panagiotisconstantinou Going off memory, I believe the daughters of Cleopatra and Antony were allowed to live and that they married into prominent families. I know at least one daughter or her descendent married into royalty of N. Africa, I believe Numidia? So theoretically the Ptolemaic bloodline likely survives, if untraced, assuming those accounts are accurate. I looked it up a while ago out of curiosity.
I don't think that the Roman Consul "Pompeo" "Magnus" can be translates in english with "Pompey". You confuse the town at the foot of Vesuvio Volcano with the Consul
@@NathanDudaniPerhaps some context is in order. I'm a Polytheist and these individuals were worshipped as Gods in the traditions I practice. I believe that people like me should continue the cults of our deified former rulers. You can think that's cringe all you want but it's not different from honoring Christian saints (though perhaps you think that's cringe too)

Woah - is it just me or does Caesar look a bit like Putin here???
Yes, he does .
He looks very Italian to me. I know a man called Emilio that looks like him. Cesar had dark hair though.
Caesar also looks like the Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. LOL.
There is a resemblance!
Claudius I = Putin = Daniel Craig 😂😂😂😂😂
Brilliant 🤩 outstanding work..
Thank you so much 😀
Great work here always a pleasure to watch your work

No contemporary depictions of Pythagoras have survived. We don't know what he looked like.

Excelente labor y felicitaciones
Cleopatra left other descendants through her relationship with Mark Antony. From them descend some rulers of Mauretania, the Severans, and Zenobia.
Ah yes, Caesarion. Son of Cleopatra and Titus Pullo ... 🤫😂
Greatttttt video thank you 😊❤😊
You’re welcome 😊
Awesome Video

Jak to jest zrobione?????czy nsprawde tak wyglądała?
Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Marcus Antonius era simpático! 😮
Unforgiveable for Augustus to have killed the only known remaining blood of Caesar.
... and the main bloodline of the Ptolemies.

You should have fixed the perspective for Cleopatra. Clearly she wasn’t deformed like that..,
I could, but i try to keep things as real as possible and not embelish her.
No wonder Cleopatra pursued Antony. He was hot! Those beautiful curls!
Isn't it possible she had some deformity because of the incest in her family?
I dont believe thats the most accurate Caesar bust to model him after.

Bravo!!!
scary how much Vladimir Putin resembles Julius Caesar
Wow 🤩
Cesar (time 2:17) is identical to Elon Musk (a reincarnation of Cesar ??)
Grandma told me Cleopatra was black!XD
Julius Vladimir Cesar Putin :)
OMG Putin looks Cesar !
シーザー、教頭先生っぽい😅
Caesar looks like a freak......and he was.....
You should use cleopatra bust.
Used cleopatra bust before this paint wall.
Who ever paint it likely paint it from memory .not a very accurate representation.
"Promo sm" 😩
Caesarion looks like Jenna Ortega.
I think you could be pretty close with Cleopatra's looks, but Julius Caesar looks like an Egyptian Elmer Fudd. Cesarion is looking pretty trans.
I think Mark Antony looks a lot like Andy Samberg!
Os Romanos antigos não eram bonitos!
Hail Cleopatra Thea Philopator Nea Isis-Aphrodite! Hail Divus Julius! Hail Marcus Antonius Neos Dionysos-Osiris! Hail Ptolemy Philopator Philometor Kaiser, Kaisarion!
Cringe
