Kevin Durant Getting Traded Is Inevitable…

  • Kevin Durant might be getting traded this summer after the Phoenix Suns big 3 was absolute disaster, and I think that KD might be returning to the OKC Thunder, although rumours about Kevin Durant being traded to the Houston Rockets are gaining traction.

    KD never had any shred of loyalty towards OKC and especially to the ownership group and Sam Presti. He's far more attached to Seattle - the place he made his NBA debut. If there's a place where KD would like to bookend his career - a reborn Seattle SuperSonics (if the NBA ever decides to right the wrong) in the next few years would be his dream choice. Even if that means he won't be in a contention for a championship, IMO he would have no problem sacrificing his last opportunity to finish his career where it started - wearing a green uniform with SONICS wordmark on it.

  • @I.am_Groot
    @I.am_Groot 20 днів тому +72

    Would KD like to be a Thunder again? Maybe. Does anyone think Presti would give up much to get him? Nope. This fantasy makes for fun conversation but dude is too expensive for most teams to want any part of trading for him. • @BBallRambles

    On the deadline when they brought Durant in, I was hoping the headline would read Ayton, Crowder, and picks. But of course it was Bridges, Johnson, Crowder, and the picks. Ishbia was over eager to make a drastic move and was blinded by Ayton being a first overall pick. It was such a stupid decision to opt to keep him over the 2 clearly better wings. But it is what it is. I think KD gets moved this off season, the Suns land a bunch of picks to restore that issue and the players they bring on combined with Booker and Beal will be competitive enough to make the playoffs. If they make the playoffs, anything can happen. I just want competitive basketball.

All im saying suns just need a True PG a Solid Rebounding BIG nd some depth on the bench nd they easily a top 3 seed in the west ! OKC is so close to the team they need. If they get iHart or Claxton in free agency, maybe Drummond too as a backup big and vet, and then cash in some of these picks and young guys who aren’t impacting the team for an upgrade in Giddey’s spot. Whether that’s a consistent 3&D wing or a floor spacing scorer to be the second option. There’s so many options but the best are very clearly KD, PG, Lauri, or Mikal. At least one of them will be gettable. If they were looking for another roleplayer to go with that since they easily have the assets and the cap space, they also need to add more 3pt shooting.

    OKC could use a great shooter, good passer, and good rebounder at the 4 who can get his own shot, and their biggest need is a strong 5 who can relieve Chet of banging with 250+ guys like AD, Jokic, Towns (if he stays), Kessler when Utah fixes their perimeter, etc., while having substantial impact offensively. Jaylin Williams won't cut it at this point in his career. OKC should get hold of that 5 by draft time including using that #12 pick, and then see what picks are on the table. They have a lot of 2nds in 2029. We know that Giddey is expendable and Wallace is more important than Dort moving forward.
    If Clingan is still there at #3 I could see Houston trading Sengun. OKC would love to do Giddey and picks for Sengun while the salary works.
    The most favorable 2025 1st, both 2029 1sts, and some 2029 2nds should be something Phoenix can accept for KD.
    Jeff Green, Tate, and Sengun for Dort, Giddey, the #12, and other picks could work for Houston if they get Clingan.
    KD expires in 2026 which will have been his 19th season so he can't demand much pay after that.
    SGA/Jalen/Durant/Chet/Sengun with bench Wallace, Tate, Kenrich, Jaylin is a very balanced team that should match up well with anyone, unlike the Thunder we just saw. And OKC would still have plenty of picks and when Jalen and Chet need to be paid in 2026 is perfect for Durant expiring in 2026. I can't see that squad not winning at least one of these next 2 seasons if healthy. They could literally sign only shooters to fill out the roster, that's how you make a dynasty.

    I don't think OKC needs KD that much, specially for the impact he is gonna have in the salary cap. OKC has a great team but they've got a hole in their roster. What they're lacking the most right now is bruising bigs, meanin size that can help Chet protect the paint, and can absorb physical teams that exploit their smaller less physical team. Chet is very good defensively, but we've seen against teams with size and strength that OKC crumbles, like the Mavs that eliminated them in the 2nd round, or the Lakers that despite being a "struggling" team half the season beat OKC with ease during the regular season.
    KD brings size, yes. He brings the scoring punch and star quality that is inherent to him, but outside of his size and some solid defence, what you expect when paying what KD is making is not what OKC really needs right now to take them over the hump. He can bring a lot offensively of course, but OKC are clicking very well on that side, they jave good chemistry and KD skillset would just be an overlap with Chet, and a bit SGA, and J Williams. I think OKC is better investing in and developing they're young core, than throwing a star into the mix that is going to limit their ability to make moves due to salary capital
