I’m currently a barber college student graduate this September of 2019, I pride my self on not only my customer service relationship but also my hair cutting passion
Hello everyone. Just wanted to say how much I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and how stocked I was about the haircut. Such an awesome bunch of guys who were just so easy to get along with 😁👍 I was also trying to stay as cool, calm and collected as I could as I was a litle but star-struck 😂 But I reckon I got away with it 👍👍
Really great cut, taught me a lot. BTW to all the comments saying it was way shorter than he wanted. Mahesh asked how much he wanted off. The client demonstrated a large amount off the sides. Mahesh asked ‘so you want quite a lot off then?’ And the client said yes. This guy travels a lot. He probably only gets his hair cut a couple of times a year if that. If mahesh had left his hair really long, it would get out of hand in a couple of months. This cut gives him months to grow out before he’ll need another. I feel like I’ve watched a different video to everyone else 😂
I don't think he travels a lot. He works for months at a time in one place to save money, and then spends a much shorter time travelling. Living abroad doesn't mean you're constantly travelling. If he really wanted/needed a cut it wouldn't be too hard to get one.
I think I must have watched a different video than a lot of the commenters. Mahesh cuts it like he said he would and communicates throughout the cut about what he was going to do. At 0:57 he even asks if the client wants a bunch off. Then at the end the client says it's a sick cut and everyone is in good spirts, joking around, and having a good time.
@Lako dude, he's practically smiling non-stop from 21:40 until 22:40. He calls it sick & sweet. Then after filming he stuck around and talked about how he liked it and got photos with Mahesh. Sorry man, but that's not the actions of someone who isn't happy.
I think he didn’t get what he wanted, but it was a better cut. He just wanted a trim and to tame the curl, but he gave him a cut that suits him better hence why he liked it after.
Can't tell if he liked it or not but regardless, he didn't seem like he really knew exactly what he wanted so the stylist took control and gave him a great haircut! Is it what he wanted? Idk but it looks really good to me!
Finally!!! An “Artist” that understands curly hair. I always wind up looking like a poodle or a q-tip. I realize that this is a men’s video but this guy is awesome.
My Father was a Master Barber & he had his own shop (Clem's) in Kalamazoo, MI through the 1960's. Being in a rock band at the time created some uneasy moments, but we endured. One regret is that I never thought to keep his fabulous leather & chrome chairs or the contents in the shop's back area. The back had been a Speakeasy during the early days & had an ancient pinball machine, bar & many bottles were still on the shelves. The entire back of the Barber Shop area was done in mirrors & white & black marble. He also employed a "height challenged" (is that PC enough?) fellow ("Shorty") as the shop's shoe shine guy, floor sweep/custodian. He actually had a few regulars that would come in every morning for just a shave. Although I was never formally trained, I usually "channel" my Dad & cut my own hair, but it's getting more difficult to reach the back now that I've just reached 70. Great to see the trade making a comeback & it appears to be flourishing in some areas.
As someone who teaches customer service for a living. You are on point!!! Keep being you and do what makes your happy! We will be here to support you in your happiness and achievements!
Finally 🙏 what an absolutely awesome scissor cut with a great technique showing the sectioning etc great job Mahesh 👌 LEGEND please more scissor only cuts
Top notch barber. Been to so many barbers and its rare these days you find a proper craftsman who knows what is going to look good and you give them instruction and they take it from there and deliver bang on also while explaining to you the reason for their choice. Quality craftsman there, great job.
What I like about this is the general chit chat with the barber and the guys. Anyone can learn skills (that said the barber is very skilled) but interacting is a natural skill that not everyone has. Very real, great vid. Thanks for posting.
How great is it that your barber understands your vibe through friendly conversations and doesn’t put any background music. This almost feels like a coffee bar ;)
Guys! Please listen to what is ask, I ask “ do you want to see your ears? “ he said yes. I say leave a bit on top and cut the back with a taper, he says yes.
Mahesh Hayward lol Mahesh, it’s clear as day. You did an awesome cut and delivered what the client wanted. It was also clear he was happy. Apparently, a few commenters don’t understand how some clients can be laid back and go with the flow.
Totally agree with u Guruji. You did deliver what tommy asked. What haters fail to notice is his hair is curly and it appears to be short coz it's springs back up when it curls. Overall it is a Great cut. Keep on shearing, trimming and Rockin!!! 🤘😎
Dude these comments are ridiculous. Awesome cut. You asked him questions throughout the entire thing and the guy kept saying "shorter." He also looks a million times better. Totally ignore these comments lol. These people are deaf
What a great haircut this is. The hairdresser was watching all the time what the hair was doing and how it lay and if it suited his face too which is very important. Great work! Thanks for the video.
I like this, it's exactly what good stylists do: use their training to refine a client's personal asthetic. As curly haired guy, I appreciated you enhancing his natural texture. Salt spray is great!.
Hairdresser: how much do u want cut off? Me: just a lil bit, I want to keep my hair long My mum: *looks at hairdresses* Hairdessser:*looks at my mum* Them: >:) Me: *walks out the salon looking like a mushroom* (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)
Reminds me of my tattoo artist. I go in for an small piece an end up with a full sleeve Haha. This guy is impressive. Very passionate about his work. Very cool
I LOVE Mahesh! Your personal style is so cool and you're a great barber. Actually, watching you made me pick up cutting my friend's hair more and we're all loving it! Asante sana!
Great haircut... I don't know what's the fuss about. The customer did ask to go short from the sides and behind, to which carlos even joked to keep a mullet, but the customer went for shorts on the side and long from the front so that he can part both ways... Point to be noted, his hair is curly. It might appear short from the front but it's definitely what he asked for. Great razor cuts btw... Cheers and peace out!
So weird how many people are saying something beard brand would like to see. Barbers are supposed to do exactly what the silent wants unless they specifically say "so whatever you want". Very odd how hive mind is amplified on social media.
I think this cut is spot on. Ears showing and longer on the top plus curly as the customer likes them that way. You cant cut more off with the given specs. Nice job!
Tommy asked for loads off the sides, quite a lot, at the beginning. Mahesh asked him at multiple points if what he was doing is ok, and every time Tommy said yeah. It evolved a bit through the process but what Mahesh suggested because of how it began to go was solid advise, taking into consideration the fact that he had curly hair etc. At any time Tommy could have said he wanted Mahesh to go a different direction or to leave more on or whatever.
I watched this video last night and today I had a client come in that requested basically the same cut. If it weren’t for watching this I don’t think I’d have been as confident doing all sheer over comb, also a feather razor on the neckline to soften it up a bit.
There was really only one way to cut this hair and Mahesh absolutely NAILED it! He walked in looking scruffy althou his hair has great potiential, well he went to the right guy and got the cut he really needed. If you know hair, then you know this guys hair will grow back and look the absolute business!
Not the haircut he asked for, but the one HE DESERVED. The barber knows best. Especially one like Mahesh. Hair grows and so does knowledge and experience.. and if Maheshs hair grew to the length of both of those.. people all over the UK would have to pay to have it removed from their yards.
The barber knows best??? Knows what best??? Lol what a dumb comment. I’m sorry. But come on. If I ask for my hair to be a certain length and the barber shaves my head and then tries to tell me something like ‘I thought shaving your head is better for your face shape”. Dude that’s not ok. Lol. That’s your logic. It’s a hair cut. The client should get what he specifically asks for unless if he gives persimmon to do as they please.
mahesh!! you never fail to impress! you're definitely my fav barber and if you're ever in new york i NEED to get my hair done from you and learn more about your techniques
It is not he barber to decide the style. He can advice and explain, but he have to do what the customer wants. This is really not good for the young man.

The haircut was good. Sometimes clients haven't got a clue what they really want so have to communicate with them as best as you can. Mahesh did ask him if he wants quite a lot off and the client said "yes". The client also said he wanted it short on the sides, quite a bit longer on top. That is what he got.

I love this puppy ❤️
That’s why I cut my hair by my self , last time I was at barber shop it ended so bad , now I cut my long hair using my own hands and I feel good :3
I really do love listening to the very British conversation they were having through most of the video.
