Hi Chris, I shoot both X and GFX and am ambivalent about the Fuji colour 'hype'. I have been interested in your Sony A9 experiment. Like you, I want to rationalise my cameras to better suit my needs. I am thinking about keeping my GFX and switching from my X system to Olympus for their computational aids for macro, astrophotography, and bird photography. But the A9 has piqued my interest.
Spoiler alert - I no longer have the A9....it just struggled with my use case so currently trying out a Canon R8, early days but results are promising.
Agree, it was pretty hefty, bigger than my Sony A9 FF camera and same size albeit the lenses would be lighter. I don't regret selling it but the IQ was excellent as was the 3 way tilting screen. I still have and use the X-E1 but have sold the 15-45 and 50-230 and just have the 35mm F1.4.
Thanks for the comment Jan; I agree in that I never really had much success in altering an image in camera or in Fuji's X-Trans RAW Studio on the X-H1.
Probably not but my needs have changed again and I've turned to a more digital offering, the Sony A9 to capture my running dog more easily. I have still kept my Fuji XE1 though as there is something about the images it produces along with the 35mm F1.4. Thanks for watching and commenting.

No. I had one. It's a big chunk. The little X-T20 has the same sensor.

You cant lift the shadow in camera. It is just softening the shadow. I hate it. I tried to use it but it does not do anything that is good.

If you're looking to get away from the digital look ? Then the Olympus isn't the answer.
