@@piyushrajak18 abey gawaar first listen here ganguly first of all never won a tournament except the shared one in 2002. We have no stability and players are getting injured under virat kohli and shastri it never used to happen like this now bcci has gone easy on it. Did I ever question his playing days? No right. Every month are captains are changing there is literally no stability kohli used to play every series and rarely missed any series and never missed a series because of injuries and don't tell me the bio bubble shit that's over in most of the countries. From the day ganguly has come he has only done 1 thing good introduction of pink ball test that's all. He has only focused on ipl nothing else this guy started all the politics there was no need of sacking kohli in odi even if they didn't want him they could have done it in more respectful way and when kohli told in press conference before leaving sa that he was available for the odi series against sa even though there were some reports of him resting ganguly got angry and irritated and wanted to send notice. Tell me any other so bad bcci chairman before. Btw kohli lost his actual form in 2021. 2020 he still did well but no 100s and India played less matches because of covid. 2019 he still had 5 or 6 hundreds and had a good wc he didn't had a 100 because the opening was so good that in many matches he came at 30th over or 27th 28th over. I rate this innings by Ganguly is one of the top 3 innings which changed the Indian cricket, other 2 were by Laxman and David in 2001 Kolkata Test against the same Aussi side (probably the greatest Test cricket team ever played other than WI-85). Just pure respect to his leadership, the way he formed that winning team from the dark days of match-fixing, cricket associations infighting... places him among modern India's one of the finest leaders in any sphere. I often wonder why we love Dada so much -- because he gave the courage to that generation of Indians that we can win, to look in the eyes of West and give them back right on the spot. He was a fair man, believed in performance not politics. How can you not love such a captain!

He was the most unfit player in the team and had to be rightly kicked out by Greg Chappel. By far the best captain- is an insult to Dhoni. Ganguly is a great captain but be lacked the brains to outsmart the opposition like Dhoni did. Courage alone doesn't make one 'The best'. Dhoni will always be the greatest Indian Captain. And what kicked out brother. I think you are misinformed/unaware of politics in the team that time. The idiot Chappel was thrown out with a garland of shoes shortly. And when Dada came back 9 months later, he had the best average in the team. BTW he was the fastest to 20+ centuries too (in the world, lately broken by kohli). He does have 11.5 k pointless runs in ODI at a strike rate of 73.70. Most of his second half of career he only played to keep his place in the team by putting his runs on the board at the expense of poor strike rate and teams moral. I agree politics resulted in him being thrown out. But imagine him in 2011 team, we would not have won the World Cup. He was a waste after 2005-2006. Terrible at fielding, couldn't take quick singles, waste too any deliveries while batting , essentially wasting a spot in the team. I am a Delhite Bengali, born and brought up in Delhi. I grew up in my locality admist toxic Jaaths. It is hurtful how much xenophobia the jaaths had against Bengali culture. They could never admit that Sourav Ganguly was a great player. Acc to them, he made 0 contributions to Indian cricket. It hurt a lot. They bullied me for years And the most shit part is, the ones who bully are seen by everyone around as strong and those who can't be that toxic are seen as weak
That's when Sourav Ganguly started to inspire me. We Bengalis esp those beyond Bengal need such an fighter spirit. Thank you dada ❤

Every non Bengalis hate Bengalis because they feel inferior infront of bengali's greatness, that's why dada was removed from Indian team because he was a Bengali. We Bengalis should teach good lessons to these non Bengalis.

Those who truly understand cricket don't hate Sourav Ganguly "DADA".
Today's so-called cricket fans( clearly Kohli fans ) don't know and don't want to know how Sourav Ganguly recovered the almost destroyed Indian team.
And re built the Indian team from scratch.

That Australian bowling line up :
    Mcgrath
    Brett lee
    Gliseppe
    Shane Warne
    Andy Bichle
    Fleming
Is the best line up in 2000s. They dominated thebperiod of 1999 to 2009. Those years are simply the Australia's greatest decade in Cricket history.

Before this tour of 2003-2004 many predicted 3-0 or 4-0 kind of easy win for Australia but Ganguly made 1-1 and retained BG trophy. In fact if Indian bowlers had pressed harder India could have easily won that series. Which they did ultimately in next series 2007-08 but umpires played their part and helped Australia to win that series.

Without ganguly's vision and aggression, there would be no dhoni, yuvraj, bhajji, sehwag. Indian team was bullied overseas and there was a lack of self belief and aggression. Overly reliant on SRT. Ganguly changed the course of Indian cricket.

Kids today don't realize what Sourav Ganguly did and achieved in his career. He led the renaissance of Indian cricket and made it the team it is today. He is Allan Border of Indian cricket. Unfortunately during his time Australia were on the peak of their powers and Greg Chappell had messed up Indian cricket. But India still reached the 2000 Knockout finals, 2003 World Cup finals and shared the Champions trophy in 2002 with Sri Lanka. He instilled the belief in Indian players especially the youngsters like Yuvi, Sehwag, Bhajji, Zaheer and even Dhoni that they are equal to their foreign counterparts and this was missing from Indian cricket as Kapil mentioned himself and he did all that when Indian cricket was coming out of its darkest era. Teams like Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh need a captain like him to change the course of their future.

Ganguly has to be the greatest captain for India - overall impact, team building, setting milestones of overseas,ICC trophies!! Yep no denying this..
Pataudi, Kapil & Wadekar saab were great in limited spaces, opportunities !! But Ganguly did on a long term across formats, situations!!
Dhoni shall be remembered more in today's Digital Era & rightly so for ICC wins - his greatest quality being his mindfulness & not feeling the force of emotional energy!!
Kohli got India to pump up their energies esp in Test but that's where our team structure, team bonding, processes took a huge break!
Plus where the whole social media nonsense, ego wars, Spouse PDA nuisance, Bollywoodish culture destroyed the goodness created!! Godspeed!
