  • Acrylic ring pour.
For this multiple flip cup pour, I used my 70% glue and 30% water as my pouring medium. I then used 1 part of this pouring medium to 1 part of my Global impasto paint. If you are using thicker paints like Liquitex Basics, you may need to use 1 1/2 parts PM to 1 part paint and if you are using thinner paints, you will need to add more paint to get your mix to the correct consistency.

Lovely ring pour and those colors are right up my alley. Thank you for the tip on keeping the paints extra thick, I'm sure this will help my next ring pour. You're so gracious to share your knowledge!

I didn't add any water to mine my last pour and it had natural cells. I used spray silicone on my commander that was all and just poured my paint so thats a great way to get a good pour if you dont dilute the paint. And get cells by just spraying your collander or cup

Julie, I am really finding some of these older videos a good refresher. I hadn’t done a tree ring pour in a while and I would have totally made my paints too thin if I handed watched this first. As always, thanks for what you do.

Thank you. I think it is very generous of you to share your talent. The Internet can be quite wonderful in this respect. I'm a "professional/ amateur" but always looking for new ideas. I particularly like the metallics you've been using and have had good results from these in the past year. (Some of my best work has been on tinfoil! Try it, you'll have so much fun). Recently, I"ve been trying to emulate stained glass as I love the effects of light on or through paintings. The best of these are very good but it's hard to sell them as photographing them is very difficult.
Anyhow, thank you for your work; I hope to 'follow' you more.
HAVE FUN! is the main thing..

Why not first pre-paint your canvas in the black paint. Many others coat their canvas first which seem to create smoother flow?

I'm with you about the wiggle line. I'd scrape it off and add black paint to make it pop. But as usual you make gorgeous pieces.

I love how the colors come together and the rings. I am just curious, I see that majority of the time your Pour on Heavy Chipboard instead of a Stretched Canvas. Do you use the Chipboard instead of Canvas for cost factor? What do you do with your Poured Panels? Do you frame them? Do you sell them? I truly enjoy your videos and have learned so much valuable information. Thank you

Ok, been watching and subbed for awhile. Where do you get those canvas cards that bend? And how do you keep them from bending. I’ve used canvas boards in the USA but they are stiff and do not dry flat. They always bow! What’s the deal sister?

  • @PierceClarkTWO

When you use the word, "card," what do you mean? What is this card made of and where do you get this? After your painting is dry, how do you frame these cards?

Donna Pierce-Clark You can do a search for “hardboard panels” on Dick Blick and find several types. In one of Julie’s earlier videos she said that she laminates them and uses them for placemats. Gorgeous aren’t they?

I’m loving the video but I’m not understanding your proportions. I’m very sorry. I’m just beggining to learn. I’ve seen videos use spoons and tablespoons and I see videos that use the word part. How much is a part? A few oz’s or tablespoons? Thank you.
