    In my opinion Milroes play went down hill in the playoff game against Michigan a year ago. I remembered he had an interview before that game where he just trashed Bill Obrian. Might not remember it but bob said he wasn’t a quarterback & that he should find another position. Milroe basically said I showed him he was wrong. Before that he was very humble & seemed to play lights out. I’m just wondering if he got the big head from & listened to all the rat poison.

    • @randyware9645
      @randyware9645 23 дні тому +2

      Yeah, the only problem was OBRIEN was right, milroe isn't a true QUARTERBACK, he is a athlete playing QUARTERBACK, he proved that over an over, he couldn't be developed, or didn't have the smart,s to develope in to a good passing qb, milroe wanted to be known for his arm not his legs, but OBRIEN knew he wasn't good enough to win consistently

      Everyone forgets that when O’Brien told him he shouldn’t play qb Saban was agreeing that he should change positions, but he didn’t wanna change positions so ironically O’Brien now has Dylan Lonergan

    A point about the WR transfers..... our top 5 for next year seems pretty concrete already. williams, bernard, horton, hale, adams. And even rico scott got a lot of play in the bowl game; plus Mbakwe moving to WR and Meadows/Brooks coming in this year its easy to see why they are all leaving. I think the rec corps will be better next year with a better QB throwing to them.

      They aren’t. But then the flip side is you just deal with that competitively in the recruiting world. Because the schools still don’t have to pay a DIME past a scholarship which you guys love, and unfortunately other schools have billionaire donors and boosters with more wealthy alumni. So no, the fans don’t have to pay a dime, but then we just live with the product that gets you. Because you guys get upset when it comes to schools using some of that revenue to pay players. And Alabama doesn’t have rich booster money 🤷🏽‍♂️

    The mass exodus in the wide receiver room has many reasons. All connected by cause and effect. It begins with the offensive lines inability to sustain blocks up front. Especially the tackles. Apparently UA has no tackles that can consistently block these rush ends. Often the passing pocket was very small. Giving Milroe less time to make decisions and go through his progressions. As we know this was his weakest attribute. His internal clock would sound. But it must have been on his wrist. Because he was always looking down even on scrambles. As the top athlete on the team. He lacked the quickness and elusiveness. Bryce Young was a master of this. This inability to sustain blocks meant he had very little time to progress from receiver to receiver. Now the question is. Was Sheridan unable to open up the offense because of these two factors. Poor blocking and a quarterback that lacked the ability to read defenses ? Was Milroe's play sheet very small ? Was this the reason the offense became so predictable ? Receivers want to play and they want the ball distributed to them. It's what they do and why they came to Alabama. Is it lack of patience to develop and wait their turn ? Probably a little bit of all this. The NIL has changed football. No longer do you commit to a team and stay just to have the privilege of putting that uniform on. Players want the money, fame, and success without the work. Without the sacrifice. As in society now with a majority of young people. They want instant gratification without doing anything. Hard to see what the future hold for the program. But anyone who knows anything about football. It's simple. It all starts up front with the line. Blocking and tackling.

  • @OldRockGuy-d7f
    @OldRockGuy-d7f 23 дні тому +4

    It was inevitable to lose WRs when you have too many 4 and 5 stars, all wanting to play, and most not getting to play. Milroe also played a hand because he was not distributing the ball because he does not read the field. The offense will look different next season because we won't be using the QB as a second runner.

  • @tim12970
    @tim12970 23 дні тому +10

    "Was he tipping off his runs?" No. The book was written on Milroe now that people had film on him. Stunt on passes, run blitz him and you got him. South FL showed that blueprint. Tenn, Vandy, Ok and Michigan also did it and he looked like crap in all of them save Vandy he was ok. He couldn't progress fast enough through his reads to see the wide open receivers. We fell backwards into the SEC ship last yr so people forget all the games we should have lost. Saban is truly the goat to get us to the playoffs last yr. Milroe didn't embrace anything but that LANK money and promises by Debo he would start. Kids a millionaire and seems to be a good person so I'm happy for him and pulling for him in the Pro's. Farewell and thanks Keeping the Bama Beating the Barn streak going.

    The players are employees now and should be treated as such. They need to experience accountability at the college level. Tie performance to their NIL and BENCH THEM OR FIRE THEM ( force them into the portal ) when they under perform. The colleges and coaches have lost leverage and it’s time to take it back. Players need a stage to play on and coaches can take that stage away.

      Milroe is AT BEST an UDFA. Many Bama Qb's that were much better didn't pan out in the NFL.. My god this guy wasn't even ok, he was horrible. If he didn't have a free lane to run north and south he was nobody. If anybody breathed on him he would fumble. He picked out his receiver before the snap which led to many INT's. Milroes only redeeming factor was his running and he would slide down like a drop back guy when he needed to be more physical and run like a TE.

    Alabama is bigger than any coach or player. There's too much at stake to let the program slide for more than a year or two. That being said, coaching turnover is bad for a program. Debour has to prove himself as a leader and fans are looking and evaluating the situation. Debour is under a microscope, but what coach isn't. We wish him well, but there's no excuse for a leader not having control of the team. Debour has to have complete command of every situation. Roll Tide.

    I’m Happy for Milroe to fulfill his dream by going to the NFL. Yes he was Inconsistent all season but this team for some reason Relied on him all year. Why couldn’t they get the running game going with Jam Miller, Haynes and Young then add Milroe. My Gosh, Can’t Blame Jalen for that. It’s Scheme or O-line and Not Milroe. Then add the the running game, Williams, Bernard and decent TE’s. Why couldn’t they Seperate? This team played Well Only when Milroe did well. The Defense let Bama down in 2nd half against Georgia and Tennessee and the Whole game vs Vandy, and OU. And they weren’t a good come from behind team, ex- Michigan game. Just complete 1 of 4 passes at the end and you Win despite giving them 16 points. Good for Milroe, he’s earned a shot at the NFL and let Simpson be the QB. Look everyone reading into this too much. Then you get guys like this that build clickbait.
    Slow down this guy has been here all year and nobody heard his name. He waited through the first round of portal moves hoping he’d get some time in the bowl. Well Scott, and Mbakwa were used ahead of him in the bowl game. So now he’s leaving. Most likely advised to by people in the program. Scholarships are shorter next year. You got to make room for the guys coming in. We need about 3 more to hit portal so we have room for the incoming class.
    Everyone knew Milroe couldn’t read a defense last season. He was picked to start based on two things. Running and race. When Saban tried benching Milroe the Lankgang refused to play for other QBs. Trying to force Saban back to Milroe. That’s when he made his mind up that he was going to retire. This year Odom dropped damn near every ball thrown his way. Law was so in demand he ended up at Kentucky, lol.
    When Saban left all starting WRs went to Texas, LSU and Louisville. We had Williams incoming and DeBoer brought Bernard. If he couldn’t kept those two we were really finished.
