its not a discrimination. there was a 'religious ceremony' going on inside the temple. you are not allowed to enter because: you came late, not dressed properly and the ceremony not supposed for tourism .. so even if you're allowed to join, no camera allowed
I am not even hindu and that "discrimination" claim irks me so much. Bali are already so open and kind to tourists, yet tourists ask for more and more...
@@fitriaahsani1286 He is an Indian Hindu, he is not just random tourist. He has faith in the dewas and he is aware of the religion. He just did not know of the culture, and of course, he did not know that you have to fully dress like a Balinese person to enter the temple. In India's Hindu temples, you can wear any dress, Balinese, Western, Indian etc. It should just look modest, that's it. And you are allowed to enter. Bali Hindu temples have more strict rules. This is new for me and many other Indians. So don't get irked, this is normal. If he knew before I'm sure he would have worn full Balinese dress before entering.
@@rishabhrox1 well, i mean... like you said, if he know that, he can prepare himself better. If he did not know that before (as you can see here), is it good to claim that they are discriminating him? They are NOT discriminating him, he is just not well-prepared, but why did he make that conclusion instead of find out why he is not allowed? I believe they will explain it if you ask nicely. Also... no matter what your (or his) religion is, It is still their sacred place, they are the one who make the rules, and you have to respect that rule. Sorry but being Hindu foreigner doesnt make you special in Bali and doesnt make you any different from other random tourist. If being Hindu were a sole requirement to enter the sacred place, other random tourist can make fake claim that they are Hindu in order to join the ceremony/procession, and may unconciously disturb the place because they have no sense of belongings. So please learn their rules before accusing something as "discrimination" ... the word is a bit too strong for this situation.
@@fitriaahsani1286 Yes, you are right. But the tourist was also a bit nervous, maybe he felt ashamed so he could not ask more clarification. These things are normal when you look from tourist's perspective. This tourist was not arrogant, he just misunderstood and shared his feelings. When you are alone in a foreign country and this kind of a situation happens, you get very nervous and scared. Also, nobody is asking for special treatment, but definitely if a Hindu person is coming to Bali (from India or Nepal or Ghana or wherever else Hinduism exists), they have a special feeling in their heart for Bali. They come not just to enjoy Bali's outer beauty but also see how their Hindu brotherhood and spirituality looks like in another country. It is sad if Balinese fail to see this and reciprocate this warmth and feeling of community-spirit. This man came to Bali not just to show beautiful beaches and temples but to show how Bali's Hinduism to Indians (many of whom are unaware that Hinduism exists natively outside India and Nepal), forgive his mistake. Hinduism in Indonesia is different from India, not just Balinese Hinduism, but Javanese Hinduism, Tengger Hinduism (Mount Bromo), Sundanese Hinduism, Kei Hinduism (Maluku), Aluk Tadolo Hinduism (Toraja, South Sulawesi), and Kaharingan Hinduism (Dayak, Kalimantan/ Borneo). Ancient Indonesian local beliefs before Hinduism came, many worshiped an omnipotent entity, One Creator, many referred to as Hyang. When Hinduism entered, ancient Indonesians saw that all the gods including the Trimurti were part of one divine emanation, namely from Sang Hyang Widhi. Indonesians are Hindus when they worship, they call it "Sembahyang" from the words "Sembah" means worship, and "Hyang" means the Creator. If you go to Central Java, you can visit the Dieng Temple on the Dieng Plateau. There you can see the Trimurti temples and traces of early Hinduism in Java. The word "Dieng" actually comes from the word "Dihyang/Di Hyang" which means the place of the Creator or the place of the Gods. The book Sanghyang Siksa Kanda Karesian from the 15th-16th century from the Sunda Kingdom (the last Hindu Kingdom in West Java) contains Hindu teachings and a mixture of Karuhun (local Sundanese) beliefs. What is interesting is that there are words as follows: "Kawula bakti di Mangkubumi, Mangkubumi bakti di Raja, Raja bakti di Dewata, Dewata bakti di Hyang" This means that the people must obey the Mangkubumi (local officials), the Mangkubumi must be devoted to their king, the king must be devoted to the Gods, the Gods are devoted to Hyang, the Source of Divine Light. So Hinduism in Indonesia is instead like Indian Hinduism which looks polytheistic, Indonesian Hinduism is more directed towards pantheism, everything in this universe, both real and unseen, is all from the emanation of the same light, from the same source, namely Sang Hyang Widhi/Sang Hyang. It's important to know why Balinese Hindus don't have Trimurti statues in their temples, because both Balinese Hinduism now and other Hinduism in Indonesia are a form of change that occurred in the 15th-17th centuries, where on the one hand, Islamization was getting stronger, making many Hindus unable to build temples for Trimurti again and forced to worship modestly like in jungle/forest, mountains, sea, rivers, and built simple places of worship is not as complicated as building temples, such as punden terraces (tiered terraces arranged with stones) which are usually found in the mountains. Apart from that, many local Hindus continue to worship in former temples which have been damaged due to Islamization, making it impossible for them to build more temples, especially since many temples have been converted into mosques and Muslim tombs/ cemetery. . Apart from that, in the 15th-16th century, when the Majapahit Empire was declining, there was a trend of strengthening local religion/native beliefs, thus influencing Hindu worship practices, which previously liked to build large temples and lots of statues of gods, became syncretistic with local beliefs and chose to build temples or places of worship. Hinduism is strong with megalithic culture, such as Balinese temples which are strongly influenced by Punden Berundak, an ancient local Indonesian place of worship.
what a bs, there's no "islamization" that make hindus can't do things, the proof is there's many kali & ganesha statues, & how Hindu temples can be converted to mosques? 🤦🤣

Balinese Hindus do not use statues of gods when worshiping, but use a type of shrine (without statues of gods) as a symbol of the place where god reside, it is called Palinggih (balinese) literally means "God's Seat" or Devasthanam (Sanskrit/Tamil) which literally means God's Place In Bali there are many Brahma Temples, Wisnu (Vishnu)Temples and Siwa (Shiva) Temples but you will not find statues of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva inside, you will only see and pray facing the symbol where the god resides. There are several statues installed in the Balinese Hindu temple but they are not for worshipping, only for temple ornamentation. I am very disappointed in the Hinduphobic comments made by my country's brothers and sisters here against India for no reason. As a Balinese, I ask for forgiveness and pray to Sang Hyang Widhi for them to get better knowledge about India before speaking against them just based on what the news channels here tell us. I have been to India, particularly Delhi and Vrindavan (the birthplace of Dewa Krisna), and it was a beautiful experience for me to see the places where Hinduism originally flourished. Yes, Balinese way of Hindu worship is different because our cultural roots lie in Kapitayan, an ancient religion in which we only prayed to one god and had only symbolic figures and nature worship, no sculptures or idols. But when we hear the Puja TriSandhya (which actually consists of the Gayatri Mantra, Indians must remember it), we still feel connected to our Trimurti (Brahma, Wisnu and Mahesa) and all their companions who uphold our Agama Hindu culture and belief. More power to Hindu unity across the world. Om Swastiastu.

As a Balinese, I saw many wonderful things in India's Hindu culture, right from the architecture of temples, to the bajan and kreetan music (I hope I said it correct), it is all so beautiful and it made me realize that Bali is so lucky to have its association with such a beautiful religion and country. But seeing Indians discrediting their own selves gives me sadness, how can Hinduism be respected when its native followers don't have faith in themselves? Bali's Hinduism is different, and our way of worship is influenced by Tirta, Kapitayan, and Kejawen, among many other indigenous faiths that existed before Hinduism came to Indonesia. So you would find many different things in Bali's Hindu culture, but ultimately, when we perform the TriSandhya, you will find our connection with India too because we sing 'Om Bur Buwaswaha' just like you.

Please don’t spread misinformation, there’s no discrimination, but of course you need to follow the rules. Locals take temple visit very seriously, everyone work together on the preparations prior to the visit. Everyone needs to wear the proper temple attire, bring offering, etc. Furthermore this is, after all, the Mother Temple, so it deserves due respect. As you can see, even the family shrine is gated so it’s not just a place you can go in as you please. There’s a certain reverence one must observe in visiting the temple, and as a tourist who doesn’t understand (and doesn’t want to understand) you’d only be a nuisance to devotees.
He didn't spread misinformation. The temple authorities behaved with rudeness to him also. The tourist is at fault, but remember he is a foreigner. Plus, he comes from India, where dress code doesn't have to be Balinese (you only have to cover yourself up, even if it is western clothes and then you can enter temples). So his culture is different (not wrong, just different) from Bali. The temple authorities should have told him to wear headgear and all, and also told him that camera is not allowed inside. Because in Indian Hindu temples we have freedom to wear what we want (as long as our body is covered up) and we can also carry cameras (though once we are in the presence of our god's idols we keep them back in our pockets or close them).

Balinese don't celebrate Deepavali. This is because Balinese do not consider Rama as God. They have one God named Sang Hyang Widhi (Sanskrit name - Achintya), similar to Islam's Allah. This is because Islam has influenced Hinduism in Bali, along with their native religions like Kapitayan (which also preached praying only to one God).
And also, Deepavali originally started as a harvest festival because North India's cropping season ends around the time that festival comes. This coincided with the date of Rama coming back to Ayodhya with Sita as written in Valmiki's Ramayana. However, in Bali the cropping season is different, so this harvest festival does not have significance here. In any case, Rama is just a human character for them, not God. There is only one prayer here, Gayatri Mantra, no aartis for other gods and nothing else.

not very sure how u are comparing India and Indonesia, India has faced masscre, r pe and conversion under Muslim rulers. It had to give up on a large portion of its land after being divided on the basis of religion. Its culture was severely destroyed. Despite this, it chose to stay secular yet some citizens of one so called 'minority' fails to respect the country, other citizens and has a so called idea to make the country Islamic. Has Indonesia faced any of this sort? (Genuinely asking beacuse I'm unaware of Indonesian history)

You are correct, Hinduism in Bali is heavily influenced by Buddhism. Bali got the Hinduism culture inherited from the Mataram Medhang kingdom, Kediri Daha kingdom, and the Majapahit empire, all from Java island. During the Hindu and Buddhism decline in Indonesia, lot of Majapahit prince and nobles run to Bali and settle there. Hinduism in Bali is a tantric hinduism, and the unified of Hinduism and Buddhism in Bali it shown in Sutasoma Scripture. The most seen Buddhist influence in Bali is in Singaraja region and known as Buddhakeling. That's why most of Balinese people worship the Sanghyang Widhi Wasa or if in Veda is known as the Parabrahman and not devoted to any specific Hindu God. Namaste sothi hotu, Rahayu🙏
Hindu in Bali is uniquely called "Hindu Bali" (Bali's Hindu), because it is a mix Hindu and Animisme, that is why you did not see the statue of Hindu GODs in there, but if you go to Prambanan Temple in Central Java you will see Statue of Shiva, Brahma, Wisnu and Durga. because the Hindu in Java is close to Indian Hindu.
Indian Hindu is very diverse. Hindu in India is not everywhere the same. For example North Indian Hinduism is also different from South Indian Hinduism. Nepal Hinduism, Sri Lankan Hinduism, Balinese Hinduism etc. are all different, but still 1 Hindu. They differ in culture, way of life, traditions etc. However, the teachings of the Vedas, the Bhagavad Gita and the teachings of Dharma are the same. The teachings of Hinduisme or Dharma is not a one-way philosophy, Hinduism is universal, flexible and Hinduism is actually not a religion but a way of life". Dharma = "Way of Life". The original name for Hindu is not Hindu, but Sanatana Dharma The concept of Brahman (God) is the same.
If you are not fully aware of Hinduism, you cannot say that there is different Hinduism in Indonesia. Bramha, Vishnu and Mahesh is not a different concept than what is prevailing in India. They also have faith in Rama. Ghanesh is also one of the deities in Indoneshia

its not a discrimination. there was a 'religious ceremony' going on inside the temple. you are not allowed to enter because: you came late, not dressed properly and the ceremony not supposed for tourism .. so even if you're allowed to join, no camera allowed
I am not even hindu and that "discrimination" claim irks me so much. Bali are already so open and kind to tourists, yet tourists ask for more and more...
@@fitriaahsani1286
He is an Indian Hindu, he is not just random tourist.
@@fitriaahsani1286
Yes, you are right.
You can see in the rest of the video he is very friendly with Balinese locals. So don't misunderstand his intention.

What is interesting is that there are words as follows:
"Kawula bakti di Mangkubumi, Mangkubumi bakti di Raja, Raja bakti di Dewata, Dewata bakti di Hyang"
This means that the people must obey the Mangkubumi (local officials), the Mangkubumi must be devoted to their king, the king must be devoted to the Gods, the Gods are devoted to Hyang, the Source of Divine Light.
Wao, perfect explanation❤
what a bs, there's no "islamization" that make hindus can't do things, the proof is there's many kali & ganesha statues, & how Hindu temples can be converted to mosques? 🤦🤣

Bali's Hinduism is different, and our way of worship is influenced by Tirta, Kapitayan, and Kejawen, among many other indigenous faiths that existed before Hinduism came to Indonesia. Is casties system exist in Bali hindusim?
Hindusim is beautiful. No matter, how you worship hindusim and how different is hindusim from each other. At the end of the we all are Hindu. Don't compare, discrimante towards other Hindu from different country. We Hindu need to stay united. We are one. God bless all hindu in the world😊🙏
They don't discriminate towards other hindu. They just have RULES that everyone should follow. As long as he wear the dresscode, bring offering, and don't come late, I think they will allow him to enter the temple.
Even balinese hindus are prohibited to enter if they don follow the rules.
@@Ann_niana No i am not talking about dresscoad or temple rule. I am talking about some people in the comment section. Some people here in comment section comparing and trying to divide between indian hindu and Indonesian hindu. They are trying to divide Hindus by criticising indian hindu and comparing us that their one is better. Its not good, we are all Hindu, so we need respect each other and stay united.
Hello sir, let me tell you something, in Bali there are no restrictions on people entering temples, but if you want to enter and pray at pura there are rules that you must follow, one of which is that you must remember is You must wear traditional Balinese prayer clothes.😊😊
I am a indian hindu and i like the rules set out by hindu temples in bali. Its a place of worship not a content for your vlog. Only those who really want to worship should be allowed inside temple.
I am also Indian Hindu .I like this rulls so much ❤. everyone should follow this rulls to entire into the temple as they are mentioned
"Sang Hyang Widhi" is not a name it's like a title or alias. Because he has no name, no form, unthinkable and unimaginable (Acintya). Sang Hyang Widhi has no statue, only an empty throne we called it "Padmasana"
"Parabrahma" as per vedic theology.

Despite of indonesian being predominantly muslim, but most of indonesians still retain hinduism as a culture. You can still found MANY elements of hinduism in today's indonesian culture.

@@shrey.kalinga_nat okay, then it is cultural thing. Because I once visited Delhi, and in the ISKCON temples there I was allowed to enter in a shirt and jeans (which covered me entirely). Some people also carried phones inside, but once they entered the places where the idols of Dewa Krisna and his holy companions were kept, they kept their phones inside and prayed. Some people were putting money inside a box near the idol. It was really interesting and mesmerizing.

BALI is beautiful and you have covered it nicely ! Some more interesting inputs for all to know!
If you compare Balinese Hinduism ( South East Asian Hinduism mainly) with * NORTH INDIAN Hinduism then yes it is in many ways different. Hinduism /Buddhism ( Sanatani) spread to South East Asia from * EASTERN AND SOUTHERN INDIA and has a lot similarity with those parts. ** like almost all old traditional Village Hindu homes in Bengal have a family temple inside their house compound called Kula Devata, just like what you saw in Bali !
In India also Hinduism is multi cultural and multi dimensional . The North / West Indian, South Indian and Eastern Indian / Nepalese Hindu rituals and temple architecture is very different from each other. Naturally when Hindu culture spread to Indonesia in ancient times , it evolved with its own style of architecture of temples.
Also like to point out not all Hindus are Vegetarians in India ! In fact all Hindus of Eastern India like Orissa, Bengal, Assam , Manipur and Nepal and even Kerala are predominantly Non Vegetarians ! I also feel that they are not discriminative to you but they just dont want to encourage funny tourists to enter their pure temple and destroy the peace, considering Bali gets lot of international tourists. They can not make an exception for Indian Hindus because they really cant prove that all Indian visitors are Hindus !

@@nurudingrogot3454Diwali itu Deepavali
@@kenari2905 Yes. Deepavali is called Diwali in northern part of India.

@@chiragk7399 whatever, peace is number one brother. ❤
@@pokokechannel435 But peace is not at the cost of compromising our civilizational and cultural heritage and values. We will never allow to take over of our heritage by any means come what may by those who don't respect our civilization rather love invaders from outside who inflicted horrors in medieval period, in a single word who are citizens of India just by CHANCE not by heart.

Bangsa yg menjijikan 🤮🤮🤮
@@Laskar_71 Very hard but futile attempt to malign ancient continuous civilization of Bharata and blame Indian Civilization for hatred for minorities especially Hindus in neighboring islamic countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh. You want Hindus to sit quite when your Christian missionaries spread intolerance at our sacred temples labelling them as SATAN's place based on your intolerant holy book. Just shut up! Bharatiya (Indian) Civilization didn't think twice to shelter persecuted Zoroastrians from Iran, Buddhists from Tibet, Jews from Iraq, Christian from Syria and Muslims from Arabia. Zoroastrians, Tibetan Buddhists and Jews don't have any problems with Majority Hindus neither do they complain about intolerance by Hindus. It's only those whose holy books instructs their followers to convert people have problems with Hindus just because we resist to convert. Either Change your holy book or be ready to be confronted against cultural crime by your cultists. Your cultists have been vehemently opposed throughout Asia not just in India. There is a reaction for every action. It's the universal truth. We will protect our civilization from evil forces by all means come what may. Deal with it.
I love this video and liked 👍
BUT...
You move your camera very fast.. I had headache after watching this 😮
greetings from bali,,
Om Swastyastu greetings from balinese Hindu
❤❤
U can't say people adopted islam 😂😂they were forced to adopt it ...only 1% strong hindu people remaining who didn't converted
that’s where you are wrong. muslim preacher came to indonesia by preaching to local kings and chief. and if the king converted, so do their people. islam rose to prominence in the archipelago only after the malacca king (at that time an economic powerhouse in the region) decided to convert to islam. the local neighboring kings decide to follow suit because muslim kings would only prefer to trade with their fellow muslim. that is why islam became the majority religion in the archipelago.
despite a small tension here and there. religions in Indonesia still lives in harmony with each other. the reason for this are national identity and preserving our diverse cultures are being drilled into our head first and foremost.
no just ignorance people didn't adopted,
Your argument just senseless, if they forced 99% of population then why leaved 1%? Because 1% are brave? You're really ignorance people..
Sorry but read the history of Islam in Indonesia
😅😅😅😅😅WhatsApp is not work in INDONESIA
there's lot of Hindu place in indonesia Bali, Medan, in java ...
Bali and java is local people but medan is indian
There are only 1.7 percent hindus in Indonesia
The beliefs of the Bali people differ from those of India because they practice not only the Hindu Dharma but also the Dharmas of the Ancestors and the Buddha. The majority of Balians live their lives as Buddhist Dharma practitioners. In Bali, God is known as Hyang Widhi Wasa, while in Weda, Sang Hyang Embang is Brahman. Like the Aztecs, Mayans, Incas, Egyptian Pyramids, Machu Picchu, Borobudur, Prambanan, and other ancient civilizations, Pura Besakih is a temple of worship.
you should be allow to pray in Bali Hindu temple as long as you are Hindu in minutes 27:20 , perhaps communication breakdown or misunderstanding, I see in other youtube channel many India Tourist in Bali are allow to pray in Hindu Bali Temple 🙏🏼
Hinduism in assam is also different,no idol worship in sattras
In assam they kill animals in temples , that's wrong.
