- I purchased this Vintage VMX Series V100 Limited Edition for a very cool £200, well chuffed. With a new set of pickups and some locking tuners this guitar has become my number one LP.

I picked up 2 for £200.00 each. One I've left boxed as new. The other I've put EMG 81 and 85's in which cost £150. I'm stoked the...it a great platform and Rick solid with great tone. 👍 I may pull the other out and put some Syrmore Duncan Pearly Gates on at some point or possibly Lace Finger Burners

I own three Vintage V100 guitars: a gold top with P90s, Tobacco burst with standard Wilkson pickups and Lemon drop with out of phase pickups. I'm looking for something with a metal hard Rock sound and that is why I'm watching this video. These are amazing guitars for the price: well made, solid and they have great pickups. Every time I play my V100s they put a smile on my face.
Its quite strange, the VMX weighs and feels the same as my 1960 reissue so felt right from the get go, upgraded machine heads and pickups and its a bullet proof rock machine.
fotgot to mention, I just refretted mine as I dont like the stock frets, its just a personal preference.
@@DaveBarlowGuitar the only thing I don't like about these guitars are the plastic machine heads. The stock machine heads stay in tune, but I'm not a fan of plastic. I don't like filling holes in the head stock either. Did you find a machine head that fitted or at least covered the original holes for the machine heads? I would be interested in replacing them too with metal ones.
I've got 4 Vintage brand guitars from a few years ago . 3 electric and 1 acoustic. They are superb but I'm hearing things said about Vintage now that I never thought I'd hear . I hope somebody there gets this sorted. Basically they're still good and they could be great again but the rumours have started .
Iv’e tried a used Lp in a local music store and the only thing that impressed me was the sound. It had some minor cosmetic flaws but the worst was that there where like craters, chunks missing in the fretboard. However it sounded killer. When buying guitars in the price range bellow $1000 it gets more likely to encounter QC issues the lower you go. Of course there’s a chance that you’ll get a good example but there’s always a risk for dissapointment. Cheers

Wow that thing sounds stinking awesome... How would you compare those pickups to the dirty torque iron gear pickups? In what actually are they? I think you said you took them out of EVH guitar but who makes them?
EVH pups, working with irongear to do some EVH clones, but hot slags still my fave, it's good to have different pups in different guitars
U probably know yourself but the vintage stuff was good about 10-15 years ago, the expensive harley benton single cuts are the ones to buy nowadays...
Any model from the top end Harley benton stuff seems to be getting rave reviews, I know my fusion iii lived up to the Internet hipe.
@fuzzb0x436 yeah for sure I have a fusion 2 super strat and the 25th anniversary lp great guitars, pickups are garbage unfortunately but changed then lol

Dunno, not as heavy as my Gibson LP
I cant decide between this (390 euro) and v100 afd (450 euro) brand new. I'll just wait for them to sell out and buy ltd ec256 instead 😂
The tuners on a ec256, are terrible, never stays in tune
That's literally a Harley Benton with a different decal on the headstock lol...or damn close looking... looks nice tho

I bought the Vintage Mick Ronson les paul a couple years back from a guitar shop in the UK - also made in Vietnam. It was the worst guitar i have ever played, too many defects to mention - basically unplayable
