- A crew from Nashville Electric Service (NES) installs a new steel distribution pole for a power upgrade along an energized line, employing "double coverage" of line blankets (both on the lines and the new pole).
No way! That pole just went straight into mud and not bolted onto a concrete base. Good lord! That's 3rd world style.
Do they ground the pole while raising it?

I don't see why the pole cannot be grounded.

Because you don’t want to stick a ground into energized primary. Hence why they’re putting protective guards on it to isolate it from energized lines
@@lobola956 I'd have thought grounding it would be manageable. The grounding cable doesn't have to be particularly short, and it would help prevent accidents.

Those guys are so lucky that a company actually gave them the shot to do that work. They are SOOOO lucky. The company could have moved right by them and hired the next applicant.
