The thing with Monica Lewinsky is that she was an intern and may have felt pressured to have sex with him to keep her job. He may not have said it explicitly, but as a woman, when your male boss suggests sexual relations, I'd be worried about my job if I said no. That's why it was such a big deal, not just that it was an affair.

This. It’s a huge power imbalance. That’s the issue here. If it was just a married man shagging someone random they met in a bar, it wouldn’t be so bad.
But regardless of who initiated it, someone as an intern shouldn’t ever be acceptable as a partner if you are working together. If you are a boss, you cannot ethically shag your employees. It’s not possible. Just choose someone else, or find them another job if you want to have sex.
There is no doubt that an intern working for the president of the United states would feel pressure if asked for sexual favors. That's the ultimate quid pro quo. But Clinton was impeached for lying under oath not for the act itself.

My favourite outrageous lie told by a politician ever was that of Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, Iraq's Information Minister, when he confidently declared that "there are no American tanks in Baghdad" ... whilst at that exact moment you could clearly see American tanks rolling past behind him.
That footage still cracks me up to this day 😂 that dude was adorable with the level of conviction he had. Just a shame that the Information Minister was fed completely incorrect information (for the time, weirdly most of his "funny" predictions _actually did come true_ - just a little later than he was expecting).
Simon needs to do a video on how the Iraq War was started. Prob not on Brain Blaze, but maybe Warographics so that way he can give a more informed opinion on the topic to the audience.
Including how the CIA and many other agencies all said there wasn't any evidence that there were WMDs, and there was evidence in which showed there were no WMDs. Basically, the intelligence communities of several nations said that Iraq had no WMDs and posed no threat, so they just picked a few things out of context, made up stuff, and, as Simon likes to point out, Iraq used to have WMDs.
Every canister of chemical weaponry found in Iraq after the 2003 invasion was found to have predated the 1991 invasion and were damaged, leaking, corroded, or otherwise unusable. Many were hazardous to be around because of leaks and puddles of the chemicals. All of them were found in small groups, which the American forces missed during their first search. They just found the discarded leftovers of the first war - something few people seem to remember.

Here's a sweet historical one: In June 1961, Walter Ulbricht, the head of the GDR (aka East Germany) said "Niemand hat die Absicht, eine Mauer zu errichten" ("nobody intents to build a wall") a jolly 2 months before the GDR built the Berlin Wall in order to stop its citizens from fleeing into West Germany. A wall that would eventually last 28 years and that was protected by armed guards who'd shoot would-be escapees to stop them from crossing the border.
I think it's rather ironic that even though the SED (East Germanies soviet-installed communist party) claimed that the wall was an "anti-capitalist protection barrier", all the guns and razorwire and mines were pointed inwards whereas the evil western capitalist on the other side not only were free to approach the wall without risk, but could also visit east berlin if they wanted to.
You guys should make a compilation of these cold opens so we have proof ready so that Simon can be declared legally insane.

Ahh, we British do love to have an inquiry. The purpose of which is to examine the obvious and widely already known so as to appear to be taking things seriously and then proceed to do nothing about whatever was being enquired upon. Thus in reality an inquiry is another tax payer expense designed to pay some lord a sum to chair and enable politicians to save face.

The issue with Clinton beyond being a personal matter, is that Lewinski was 19 at the time. And she was his subordinate. With him being the president out of all things. So that's a HUGE power dynamics issue with someone who's barely legal.
She wasn’t 19 she was 22. Also, the main issue was that he lied under oath, not that he had an affair. He was impeached for perjury.

Disagree about Clinton… although it was consensual, he was senior to her in the chain of command and if the relationship went south, he could ruin her career - not that it didn’t happen anyway, but… Or she could be given perks others didn’t get. If a CEO of a major company had an affair with an employee, he or she would be gone in a heartbeat. Now if the other person was not a White House employee, it would have been something between Bill, Hillary and Monica.

also keeping in mind that Monica was 22 YEARS OLD at the time. and yet, who did the media focus in on and put the blame on? the 40+ year old married man? no. it was Monica. her life WAS ruined because of it during that time.

Simon, you are missing one of the important points about the affair between Lewinsky and Clinton: He was her superior at work - he was the President! - that put him in a position of power over Ms Lewiski = making it harder for her to say no - whether it was conscious or subconscious- it would be harder for her to say no.
It was logical to think they could have the weapons. To normal people. The jump makes perfect sense. But the issue is, that bush not only didn't have any evidence to suggest they did. He had direct Intel proving they didn't. If it was just a lack of evidence it'd be one thing, but it went deeper then that.

There was definitely evidence available that showed that Saddam Hussein was not one to assist religious extremist terrorists, bin Laden in particular. I say I believe a Times article that straight up confirms the election was "fortified" through social media suppression, main stream media manipulation, ballot harvesting, and many other methods of chicanery. Not to mention the numerous other questionable instances of potential duplicity, that were just dismissed without dutiful investigation. Just because *you* believe the narrative that the election was "the most secure election ever" doesn't make it true.
Just because something is hard to prove, especially when so many people hate you, doesn't mean you aren't being sincere. I could say dogs are better than cats, doesn't mean I'm right or have proof. You could think you're a "genious" (whatever that is), I'd argue you're a dunce, they're _opinions_
Examples of outright lies would be "I was raised in a Puerto Rican community" "I confronted a gang leader named corn pop" "I was arrested in South Africa" "inflation is at zero percent" "a 9mm with blow your lung out" "the bullet out of an AR-15 travels five times as rapidly as a bullet shot out of any other gun" "I'm not going to ban fracking" "I'm not going to cancel the keystone pipeline" all said by Biden, and those are just the few I can remember off the top of my head..
So, judging by what you've poorly provided, I think it's going to be exceptionally difficult to produce a 3 hour long video about "Trump's lies" based on 2 _opinions_ that can't even be deemed as lies.
