    Wonderful tips! 💝
    I just told my husband today that I want things to be more functional for our open living space in our living room and kitchen.
    I don't want to see things. I'm overwhelmed by everything. Thank you Sarah for your videos 💝

      Oh that sounds wonderful ❤️ I go through seasons where I hate seeing things and then others where I can cope a bit better 🤣

      If you're "above" your clutter threshold, you'll never be happy. Keep going until everything in your house has a dedicated spot.

    Another great video! Recognizing that clutter is a constant ebb and flow was hard to accept at first bc I treated decluttering as a project when it's more a lifestyle. I am adding the car basket idea right away. That could really help.

    Thanks, Sarah. Your advice is spot-on for me. Love that idea to corral things from the car into a bin before they even enter my house. Brilliant. Your minimalist ways have inspired me for years (since your tour of your beach apartment). I'm a minimalist now because you introduced me to the concept. Thank you!!!

    What I found out by watching a lot of organising videos is that a lot of people don't have enough storage, I don't mind cuppords, most of mine are half empty, but I will never have problem to store things 😅

    I absolutely hated having my daily meds out to so I put a daily reminder on my phone and seeing reminders unchecked on my phone drives me nuts so I take the meds as soon as I can to clear the reminder!

    I have this exact same white cart!!! I was tired of my Japanese learning books and flash cards being in a pile in my living room or moving them into a drawer where I’m less likely to get them out and study as often so I got this cart and keep it right next to my couch so every night when I sit down to relax I can grab something from it and study.

    • @SmallChanges
      @SmallChanges  Рік тому

      I love all of this so much! I am a little embarrassed that my relaxation includes Diet Coke and x-Files while you are studying Japanese 🤯 😉❤️

    Love these tips!!!❤ Function first every time- drives me buggy when people confuse minimalism with the aesthetic of minimalism. One works in real life but isn’t Insta g perfect and the other is another hurdle in the way of simple living.

      Some people do both. We love a minimalist aesthetic. I love open bare floor space, minimum furniture, no tchotchkes, and owning the least I can get away with having.

    My husband comes from a very long line of hoarders, 6 generations of farmer hoarders. We're far from minimalist but we have gradually been decluttering. When hoarding has been bred into the family, I found it best just to start by getting rid of just 1 grocery bag full a month. That amount was tolerated by hubby. As time as gone on I have changed strategies. I now have an OP shop pile on a side dresser near the front door. As we decide we don't want something we add it to the pile. Once a month I do an OP shop run. Hubby is occasionally adding things to the pile too. He's even started working on his shed and garage. I have no intention of being Sarah minimal, but we're working towards a minimal to us.

      @@SmallChanges I had a YT name change 2 weeks ago. I've been following you for several years, as Lee Golder. I'm actually a Vegemite addict (and refusing to get Vegemite addiction treatment). Yes, I noticed your comment

      Did you try the Vegemite chicken from Coles?

    • @vegemitegirl1971
      @vegemitegirl1971 Рік тому

      @@SmallChanges No, thankfully. The combination of chicken and Vegemite sounds repulsive. No, I did not try the beans, spaghetti or various cakes mixes out, which contain Vegemite. And the cheesy mite spread, please so not ask for my opinion if you want a positive response. I'm a purist.

    那就是生活混亂的開始

    Gatekeeping is a waste of my energy, being married to a packrat who can't pass up an opportunity for FREE.

      Oh husbands like that are a double edge sword… awesome that they are the best treasure hunters that find all the best things for free… but also tricky to be good gatekeeper 🙈
