Rob was a legend for doing that. The A500+ was the first Amiga I ever used (my mates), still has a special place in my heart. Love the chip tester, a nice bit of kit. Looking forward this years charity auctions got some pennies save up. Great work on the ++ also
Great video mate & yep that does look awesome indeed, especially the gold parts was a great shout. Thanks to everyone who helped fund my crazy suggestion of the crystal case 🥰
Brilliant work there Lee, I love the moving over of a bunch of the passives just adds an extra bit of authentic Amigaishness to it. The gold and Purple works really well 👌
Great job looks great, I personally have never liked clear cases on computers but I know many people who do and hope it will be snapped up for a great price for the charity auction :)...
My Lord... that is a **** beast indeed. I couldn't quite make out if it has it or now but I think a case like this could do well with a few more LEDs, so forgive if I missed this: The hard drive solution could use an activity LED, it is possible it already has it. And those harnesses for the parallel and serial ports also have LEDs and I think it is safe to keep them in the ports all the time. Just for some more LEDs. But well, even as is, this is a great, great machine. Well worth the £1,000.
Stunning machine and will make the auction winner immensly proud to own it! Huge Kudos to all who donated towards it and to you Lee for driving the charity event! Hmmm, using a cocktail stick and some purple enamel paint to pick out that AMIGA logo above the gold drive... 🤔
For the submersion retro brite, better to put them in a bag and squeeze out all the air, then leave the bag in the sun, turn over and shake now and then. And if you don't wanna squeeze peroxide out on your hands, gently lower the bag into the sink or a bucket full of water, holding the keys, it squeezes out the air naturally. Might be a little bit in there but hey. Also a useful method for storing things in the freezer that you don't want freezer burn on.
1000 pounds sterling converted to NZD is close to $3000 + shipping + GST and your looking close to $3500 NZD. That’s a bit too rich for me but it is a thing of beauty. Good luck with the auction, I hope you hit your targets.
This is a thing of beauty, I would offer the £1000 now but I know this will go for hell of a lot more on the day, I watched last years event start to finish. I want it.
Lee, have you considered getting some of the big name UK Retro UA-camrs to sign the crystal case ? Would make it even more unique and a 'one of a kind' piece. (...and push the final price up maybe?)
Hi. Yeah, I did think about this. But the logistics of posting it and getting it returned from multiple places around just the UK would drain quite a lot of money out of the charity funds. There is another Amiga, customised by Hack Build Restore Andi, that has been signed by a good number of youtubers that were at Kickstart. That will also be up for auction.
I have a recapped A500 (not a plus) with the same limited edition crystal case, 2 MB CHIP RAM, PiStorm (with Raspberry Pi 3+ Model A) crystal tank mouse with optical upgrade. Is it worth £1000?
I wouldn't like to guess. But most of the things I sell for charity sell for quite a lot more than their actual value, so I wouldn't use this as a way to value your machine.

Cheers! Feels like we are on the way now :D
Looks stunning, purple and gold is a winning combination
Has that special look doesnt it?
Lovely job there, Lee. This thing looks amazing.
Thank you Bobbus :D

Was a great idea! Crazy! But great 😆
That is one stunning machine. You made the right call putting the black Terrible Fire card in it. That will make more than £1000 no problem.
Cheers Colin!

Cheers Chris!
That is a beautiful design. Love the gold for the plate. Good luck at the charity event!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks absolutely smashing!
Awesome work Lee and a beautiful looking machine that I hope will do big numbers for the charity.
Thank you Glen! :D So much more to come!

Thank you!
Awesome looking machine, it'll do a splendid job raising charity money. Love a translucent case, someone should do one for the Beeb.
Would love to see a transparent Beeb!

If this was too be mine I think I would certainly end up with LEDs inside.
Absolute amazing Job.. What an amazing 500... Should be on the top shelf :)
It really should! Thank you!
Nice work Lee! Sharp machine.
Thank you Jamie :D

Haha! I will leave customising it up to the eventual winner :D

Ahh! Nice tip 👍 Thanks!

Thank you! I wasnt too far off with my conversions ;)
It's just brilliant! The gold is a great choice.
Thank you Albert! I'm so happy with how its turned out :D

I hope you win something in the auctions! Lots of very special machines to come!
Its a great looking machine i'm sure it will do well in the auction.
Phew! That thing looks amazing!
Thank you Matt!
Love that computer, lets hope you get £1000+ for it.
Fingers crossed!
What a beautiful machine. Will be a gem for whoever gets it 👌
It's a peach!

Awesome video, I like purple, it's the colour of kings.
Royal purple! I like it!
Great call on that gold
Oh wow. That looks beautiful. Hoping for the lottery so I can put in an offer for this one!!
Got to be in it to win it! :D
I wouldn't stress too much on the colours. After all, if purple and green can work on a grapevine, it'll work on an Amiga.
Very true!
Awesome Video! The Amiga Looks Stunning. I'd also like to see the 2 parts machines built into 1 working Frankenstein lol. Again, Nice Video
I'll grab my circular saw!
That is **stunning**. Does it count as the world's newest A500? 😁
Love the gold touches - they complete it beautifully.
It's the world's newest Amiga made from new and old parts 😁
Great stuff as always Lee - So odd to think this all got kicked off by a little Atari 2600 repair many years ago!
From tiny "woody" acorns!
Rob (PeepoUK) is an absolute legend.
One hundred percent agree.
I know I'm already priced out of this auction, but it won't stop me bidding on it anyway!
Someone has to get them started!
Also there will be a LOT of stuff at the lower end of the value spectrum. Sooooo much stuff!
It looks great! Hopefully it gets lots of dollarydoos for the charity
Fingers crossed!
Que máquina linda! 🤩
Thank you!
UV activity LED on the floppy and possibly other places?
An interesting idea!
Looks like you've made a right mess of that😂😂😂 good work well done😂
Thanks 😅

@@MoreFunMakingIt thanks!
Somebody ought to have that blur barrel Varta tattoed on a shoulder to show they're well 'ard
On their face. Double hard
Will it have 2MB Chip RAM?! :)
Just today I ordered a purple PCB 1mb trapdoor expansion for it :D
perhaps where that ugly green board for the Keyboard is, a purple yardstick telling about the charity, and why it is the colors it is?
Part 2 coming soon...
Cardstock not yardstick. Stupid autocorrect.
