    I am doing this job for more than 20 years, and I still learn every day.
    Being wrong or improving your filmmaker's skills sets is part of the job and why I choose this path in the first place. I never understand people that don't get this and feel their ego threatened by some shared knowledge or learning from someone else than themselves.
    Thanks for the tips, your videos are always in my background, and somehow always get something new from them.

    Another great tutorial Qazi👍I love how far you can push Alexa footage. Being 16 bit Raw definitely helps with this kinda look. I’ve been struggling with my ursa mini 4.6K footage for a while now and I just can’t get the footage to look how a want it. I guess only being 12 bit RAW I’m limited and getting this kinda look out of the ursa is very hard at least for me.

    Hey Qazi, I have a short question for you and maybe you know a good solution for this.
    If I have a node which is very CPU intensive like Noise reduction and I got different settings on this node for each clip, is there a way to activate/deactivate all the Noise reduction Nodes at once?
    It seems the only way to do that is with a Shared Node or Groups but then the setting from this Node is the same for all clips.
    Thanks for your help!

    This is so great thank you for sharing. I have been shooting on BMPCC6K in BRaw. Would you still use CST workflow for working with BRaw footage and would you ever use the Raw settings tab in DaVinci Resolve? If the LUT was attached to the raw file when shot, would you turn it off? I guess what I'm asking, is there a CST best practice when working with BRaw! :) Thanks in advance. ps. I found the tip applying the grain from the first node really interesting.

    • @klatchabobby
      @klatchabobby 2 роки тому

      You should never, ever use a reference LUT in grading. I have the pocket 4K and I never use the LUT the footage has one it, it's off by default. It's meant for previewing better colour while shooting, not to help in grading

    I am just not sure why you aren't using Color Management using Davinci Wide Gamut, you don't need that last node. you are already mapping the output to 709 for the entire sequence.

    Qazi, I've yet to find someone to explain this to me in somewhat of a detail but what is it about 06:07 makes the video/image look so rich/thick in color? It just looks so, so different than the clip you edited. Even though what you did was fantastic, it just still looks way, way different in terms of color thickness/falloff. I dunno. Help?

      I agree. I love Qazi videos but this tutorial fell really short of the look from lala land. The lala land looks so saturated and puchy and full, like you stated.

    • @theqazman
      @theqazman  2 роки тому

      La La Land was shot on film and I could've easily achieved that look if I used a film emulation but I didn't want to do that. I wanted to show you how to create a pushed look with the default tools in Resolve without using LUTs.

    Lol I like the amateur look more tbh - you should have saturated low saturated parts more, more saturation to green and blue dress and everything low sat. Protect the high sat obviously, and skin.
    The hues on this pics dont make a good palette, so changing some hues also an option while saturating.
