    I'll tell everyone right now, if you're going for a 2nd gen IS, save up the extra $1000 and get the 350. Aside from having an extra 101hp (and yes, the power difference is night and day), the 350 has port injection which means you won't have the carbon build up issues on the intake valves like the diesel, Mini and BMW guys have. But back to the power, how many times can you say you spent $1000 to gain 101hp and suffer no MPG loss or driveability issues?
    I got my 350 and it's nice knowing i can play with legit sports cars like mustang GTs (up to 2011), 335i, 350Z/G35s, G37 sedans, genesis 3.8s, RT charger/challengers, V6 Camaros (09 and up) and V6 mustangs (2011 and up) and often times win. Meantime, with a 250, you're left playing with stock single cam civics, and celicas and worried you're going to lose.

    Alright, so with the rear suspension, after upgrading to adjustable coil overs clicking stopped, andddd with the slow shifts, you can turn up the pressure on your shift solenoids making it act like a dtc/euro and I’m ngl that’s the best thing I’ve done to this car yet was turn those up! It’s so much quicker to shift, granted i might run into bigger issues down the road due to this it does do what you want

    I own a 2008 Lexus IS250. No longer my daily driver as I use a 2018 Corolla now for that, but I kept my little Lexus because she’s fun and has served me well at 131k miles. I still drive it now and then because it’s still very fun today drive. Plus I have to admit, the fact that’s it’s a Lexus makes me feel a little bit status. I have ac issues tho. you forgot to mention the infamous sticky/melting dash issue, otherwise you made me feel good about my recent purchase. If you or someone you know has one of these... Nice little video. On the looks, COME ON! they're gorgeous. I have a 2012 (MY13) IS 350 Sports Luxury in red Vermillion fire tri-coat with Sand (ivory leather interior). It's full house being a Sports luxury (92 k kms or 58k miles) and spectacular condition and gets looks as it's just mint condish!. As for the the rear boot/trunk space, it's great for it's size, im surprised that's listed as a criticism, it's actually a strength..I also own an 08 Accord V6 so I know what a big boot/trunk is!. Back seat space is actually good but I find the rear seat back a little too upright to be supremely comfortable (which my Accord is). At the end of the day its a rear wheel drive sporty -luxury sedan, not a family truckster. It's practical enough and I think of it (and call it) my four door (Nissan) Z.

    -touch screen doesnt work (doesn't take input
    -flappy paddle's dont work
    -some persisting battery warning light (battery has been changed but im sure it may be an alternator issue , not sure whether its been changed or not tho but do be weirry)
    as long as u take care of these cars they really wont let you down.
    other than the issues mentioned above (and slow transmission when is sport) i have no other issues.
    really great car for the cheap

    The cupholders on my IS 350 are the most pathetic dogshit cupholders I've ever used. The one in the center council is shaped like a square, won't fit any mugs or most bottles (unless they're small OR SQUARE SHAPED!!) The center council cupholder is in the rear seat center council, because I decided I'd rather have the option to have the 3 things I put there fit, which isn't an option when half the center cousin is a glove box, and the armrest can't be used when the cupholder is in use with any kind of cup. The door bottle holders are only good certain small bottles the size of disposable ones, and the rear sear cupholder mechanism is so overengineered that they will not open OR close if the arm rest is at a 45° angle or greater. No the cup holders on the IS are not good. They also aren't safe by modern standards, when they retested it in 2012 it failed to get a 5 star rating. If a modern truck hits you dead on when you're not moving and they're going 40mph+ you're dead!! I've seen a video if exactly this also.

    Came to the comments for help, I found a 2012 fsport/350 for 13/14k. With 100k miles, is that a good deal ?

    Just sold my IS350 for 14k CAD had a lot of mods. Imo, if you want a track car don't track a 350, it's expensive to make fast around a circuit and the transmission will let you down every single time. No matter how much you upgrade everything else the trans cannot be improved even with transgo kit. You need to have it built. Forget a manual swap it won't work unless you have heaps of money to be the guy who figures it out. Nonetheless it's a great street cruiser and looks great but the limit for most people on a budget is pretty low.

      Depends which one you're talking about. I have an '06 IS350 and if you REALLY try, you can squeeze out around 23 MPG city

      I get 32mpg average in an is250

    • @liambrown1216
      @liambrown1216 2 роки тому

      Generally 30-32 city/highway (If driven carefully) but drops to 28mpg during winter. You can squeeze out close to 50mpg on a long run with cruise control set to 60, not bad for a V6

    Is 220d tuned with 270 bhp and 510 nm, is much better and more joy to drive then a 250 or 350, and do not ruin you with fuel addicted engine...... 6.5 L/100 km..... In Miles? 😄👍
