had followed the instructions and successfully made a very beautiful and neat cape with hood...used it for my daughter's reading month celebration as little red riding hood..thanks mucho!!!. :)

If you've ever seen Once Upon A Time, you'll understand why I like these so much.. well, im making one just to wear. I think these hoods are soo adorable.. 💜

So great. I'm a grandma that likes to sew but not huge projects so Halloween costumes are usually fun and easy. But you just made it a lot easier. Very cute.
Excellent! It was just what l needed to make my daughter a Red Riding Hood cloak. l didn't have any fabric glue so just tacked it together. Very clearly presented. Thank you.
your tutorial saved me big time...this is great, I got 4 yards of fabric instead of 2 , to have full length cape, also I modified the hood to have rounded edge but...thanks a bunchhh
Thank you so much, this is the 1st halloween my son is celebrating and has been invited to trick or treat, can't wait to whip this cape up for his costume

I followed exactly what you said and did, and it came out great! First time I've ever made anything like this and it was much easier than I thought. So much better than the over-priced, cheaply made, store bought costumes! Thanks a bunch ☺
Awesome work!! I sewed one last year. My first item ever. I'll be doing this one from now on.. Ive seen others like this but yours looks the best. Also, looks the least complicated. Thank you!!

Great tutorial! I used it for a hobbit cape today so didn't make a hood, but used the same 'slits' idea for the drawstring and it worked perfectly. I didn't even use the glue - it only needs to last a few hours at a costume party. Thank you!
I think I might make a grey one for Halloween, I want to go as an elf. I might also buy a leaf of Lorien badge and somehow use that to hold it together! might be hard, but I'm sure I'll figure out something

thank you so much for the tutorial! this is the first Halloween costume ive ever made by myself and im super happy with how the cape turned out! i added a red ribbon trim around the edge for a lil flair :)

Video was super helpful. I used a plaid tablecloth 60x84 and cut to my height. This eliminated having to fix edges on 3 sides. I used Res Q tape instead of glue too. And for $9.99 at R0ss it was a bargain!

Thanks so much for this.. SUPER EASY! I need to think of more caped costumes for next year! Son is going as a zombie Elvin Archer!.. this cape just in green!
Kandy Deveaux That would be awesome! I would love to see it :) Link the video if you do decide to make one! Or tag me on Instagram or Facebook. Links in the description box above!
Hi. If you are using the same measurements as I did, then you just fold the 17 x 22 fabric in half until it becomes 17 x 11. Then you glue the side that's 11 inches. Then you just flip it inside out and that is the hood. Let me know if you have further questions :)
Hi there! I borrowed my mom's fabric scissors. I wouldn't recommend using regular scissors because it might mess up the fabric by causing the threads to get loose. But if that's all you have, for sure you can use it. Fabric scissors just cuts more smoothly. Please let me know if you have further questions. Thank you and have a great day! : )
I cut a 1.5 inch wide ribbon from the same red fabric. You can use regular ribbon also. You just need something that's able to weave in and out of the hood and the body of the cape. Hope that helped! : )
+Amy Play I think it depends on the fabric glue, you can check the bottle of the fabric glue to see if you can put glued items in the washer. I personally would not put it in the washer in case the glue does wash off.
Susie Freeman Yes, I think with the measurements given it might be a little big for an 8 year old, depending on how tall they are. I would recommend making it bigger rather than smaller at first because if it's bigger you can always cut the excess fabric to how you want it; if it's smaller then you can't really do that.

What kind of fabric would be best?
Will this pattern work with fleece? Will the fabric glue work on fleece?
Could you please tell me what exact measurement I need to make a full length hooded cape? One that meets at the ankles?
Silly question - if the fabric is per yard - is that a yard square? Or otherwise how wide should it be? Thanks!
Which fabric have you used?
I got kinda confused when you guled the hood, how am I supposed to fold it and which side do I glue together?
Hi. If you are using the same measurements as I did, then you just fold the 17 x 22 fabric in half until it becomes 17 x 11. Then you glue the side that's 11 inches. Then you just flip it inside out and that is the hood. Let me know if you have further questions :)
Ok but what are you gluing it to? Like what side? It skips a step. You glue the two top 11s together, correct?
I'm planning on cosplaying as a human Terezi Pyrope but I still need an idea for her dragon hood. Anybody got suggestions?
Can I just use hot glue for the hood to the cape? LOL I'm lazy!
Dang I was fine till attaching the hood to the cape. I didn't understand it and it ended up failing. Maybe I'll just glue the hood on...
what kind of scissors are you using
did u use fabric for the ribbon if so can u use regular ribbon too?
I cut a 1.5 inch wide ribbon from the same red fabric. You can use regular ribbon also. You just need something that's able to weave in and out of the hood and the body of the cape. Hope that helped! : )
what were your measurements for the body?
If you use fabric glue can you wash it in the washer?
+Amy Play I think it depends on the fabric glue, you can check the bottle of the fabric glue to see if you can put glued items in the washer. I personally would not put it in the washer in case the glue does wash off.
Could I use a chain to connect the hood to the body instead?
Peter Nation Of course, just keep in mind that it might rip the slits if the chain's too thick/heavy.
are the measurements you gave before or after you cut 13 inches off?
Making a hood cape for mah cat
At 4:24, is the body of of the cape folded over or has it been cut in some way? I’m not quite following.
Yes, the body of the cape is folded in half.
Sorry for not being clear about that.
I honesty was very confused during this
Sorry to hear that. I tried my best to make the instructions simple.
When you were measuring the hood why was it still folded?
No
Yeah...
When you had us measure the 17in than the screen transitioned than the mesurer moved to the middle of the fabric
I want to make a cloak that is as long Morgana's #Merlin but I want to do it in a blue gray color to match emrys' at the last episode.
What fabric did you use ?
CourtneyMae Ahsin-Moore I used stretchy fabric that I bought from Joann's. I think any fabric that's stretchy will do.
c'est trop conpliquer mais beau
is 2 yards the same as 2 meters xxx 💘🐝
According to Google, 2 Yards = 1.8288 Meters
@@CandidKimberly thank you so much xxxx 🐝🥰
WOULD THIS BE TOO BIG AND LONG FOR AN 8 YEAR OLD OR SHOULD I MAKE IT A LITTLE SMALLER
How tall is your 8 year old
Susie Freeman Yes, I think with the measurements given it might be a little big for an 8 year old, depending on how tall they are. I would recommend making it bigger rather than smaller at first because if it's bigger you can always cut the excess fabric to how you want it; if it's smaller then you can't really do that.
Are these adult measurements??
your measurements for the hood didn't work...
How tall are you?
5'2"
U said no measurements but other than that great tutorial
Also known as a cloak
Do not follow the measurements for the hood. You'll end up with a beanie....
You said no measurments
Tamaki Suoh it's "no-sew" and "measurements included" 2 separate things. I didn't mean "no measurements"...
No measuring included...
*uses measuring tape*
The title of the video doesn't say anything about "No measuring included."
It says "no-sew" AND "measurements included."
