- This is the Better Than Default texture pack. Aimed AT creating a texture pack that had the feel of default but didn't have those things that made you change texture pack.

This texturepack doesent really feel like its better than the defualt pack. Here is some reasons. Why completely change emeralds to rubies? I know they were supposed to be rubies, but hey! Andesite, diorite and granite all now looks like stone? I dont like that, the different stones are to make the caves look a bit different, not like some painter came and painted it! The clay is horrific! Cyan clay used to look like a gray kind of smooth block, now thats ruined. And all the new clay textures are really bad, we allready have the wool to get those colored textures, we dont need it again! I do not like this texturepack and would give it a 2/10 :D But hey that is just my opinion :P Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Måns Nilsson I didn't like how clay looked anyway. The colors in default suck. just look at black stained clay. ITS DARK BROWN!!! XD I like it.

Only thing I like in this pack is the diamond block, because every time I see gold and diamond blocks I see in my mind the noob buildings builded with expensive materials when noobs think they are really pro now.
I've been using this texture pack for a couple months now, I prefer it over the default pack because it makes the game more bright and vibrant.
Quite honestly I prefer vanilla textures combined with Shaders
I like this texture a lot but the colors of clay are a bit too saturated for me and I hate that the emeralds are renamed and retextured .-.
Not all of the clay colors are too saturated*
You can always go into the folder of the texture pack and modify it into the way you like by replacing the png files.

this looks like my kind of pack! some things could use a change but VERY nice! i'm glad he has the emeralds changed to ruby.
To be honest, the only thing I liked was the XP bar. The rest I thought was pretty ugly.

BitBetter is a good "better than deafult" texture pack"
Aside from this being a really lazy edit that I could easily do myself, whoever made this texture pack does not know what real granite, andesite and diorite look like. I can understand them making andesite darker but it should still have the same gritty texturing, and granite should not look like smooth stone at ALL, if anything it should be more "crystaly" and be full of little lumps and stuff, like real granite. I can also understand making the stained clay more true to hue, but making it so bright just... urgh, tellytubby land colours. There are some WAY better texture packs than this out there. I do think the less in-your-face oranges in wood types looks a little better, but they messed up royally with stone types.

Just create or search for a texture pack that changes the name and texture of emeralds into rubies.
i figured it out, only proublem is a have a 32x32 and the ore and block version are 16x16. The Ruby texture, faithful made one but it wwas never in use
You need to go into the lang file of your texture pack and change everything you need to. You need notepad+ to do it

I don't find this to be better than default :( Why use ruby instead of emerald? Stained clay is supposed to be earth-toned, it's stained, not painted. Andesite, diorite, and granite are supposed to look distinct from stone. The Nether is Hell, not just a red colored overworld, the textures are supposed to be different. This is clearly not my thing. I much prefer Faithful if I'm going to use a texture pack.
Chad the reason clay in Minecraft is the way it is, is because its STAINED clay not DYED clay, which means its all those colors with a brown tint basically. I think it would still be cool if they added dyed clay ;)

Fun fact: Emeralds were originally gonna be rubies, but some people couldn't tell the rubies apart from the redstone ores. I think that's why they changed that.
Some textures really remind me of the old OCD pack by FVDisco. Brings me back to when I used to play Minecraft on the PC.

Holy shit. It IS better that default! + The default emerald WAS a ruby long ago. But they changed it to emerald cause it looked a lot like redstone.

The quartz ore is not cool,but the netherrack is awesome and the useless stones are beautiful and the clay is very colored and the glass is much more useful and clean.

in a double chest are 52 spaces. in a stek fts 64. 64 x 52 is 3227
It's funny that he says the series makes you an expert in mc and he doesn't know how the xp-bar is named and it looks like he sees the blocks of the texturepack for the first time...
I prefer Faithful 32x32, it “smooths” everything out, and it simplifies the bulky lines in default minecraft.

So basically, the creator took already existing textures, recolored them, used it to replace textures like granite and diamond blocks, and called it a day.
I love the look of ruby and ruby blocks compared to emerald.

The only think bad about this texture pack is the nether additions because if we do have quartz ore then it just doesn't fit with the netherack also i liked the previous netherack and nether brick
