Another huge part of Myanmar's history is that
* It used to be the largest province of British India
* It is India's first partition, it was partitioned from India in 1937
* The people in Myanmar voted AGAINST this partition but it was still partitioned by the British
* They voted against it because they knew their country would go into a civil war if they were not with India. They were right

I just want to know.
I was a student in the Mizoram University, Aizawl.
In 2022 I had a roommate in the hostel he was from Myanmar- a border region close to Mizoram border
His surname was of that of a Mizo ethniciy and he practised Christianity.
He told me that his country is under poverty and his family members had to sought refuge in Mizoram for safety.
Since he was a graduate in his country he was sent to our univ to apply for Masters with some financial assistance. He wore a lungi typical one in our hostel.
