My legislation to tamp down on dangerous, untraceable ghost guns in Michigan has moved to the Senate Horse hockey. Homemade guns are legal by law and you will never stop the cottage industry. There are no provisions in the 2nd Amendment for types of arms or banning arms so your legislation is unlawful/unconstitutional as a violation of law. Arms are all inclusive. "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." The people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms and not comply with Contrary laws by Article VI paragraph two supreme Law of the Land. Nothing says you need more victims for your gun control propaganda than refusing to improve security in schools. “The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.” ― Patrick Henry "Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves." - William Pitt (the Younger), Speech in the House of Commons, November 18, 1783 "As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms." - Tench Coxe, Philadelphia Federal Gazette, June 18, 1789 "The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt." --- John Philpot Curran “My great objection to this government is, that it does not leave us the means of defending our rights, or of waging war against tyrants.” --- Patrick Henry ~ Virginia’s Constitution ratification convention, June 5, 1788 “Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual… Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us.” --- John Hancock
could you maybe focus on enforcing existing laws instead of making criminals out of competent hobbyists? Do you realize how stupid it sounds that you want to enforce a license to print firearms but won’t allow them to be sold? What’s the point? A shameless money grab?
So you'd like to "tamp down" "dangerous, untraceable ghost guns". Presumably you're saying that traceable guns are less dangerous than the apparently unreliable 3D printed ghosties. I mean if the Super Mario Cart NPC CEO Slayer is anything to go by I'd be tempted to say, yes, let's have more of these ghosties that are spring driven bolt action pistols. I would ask a few things. Please provide stats and data that proves gun traces prevent crime. Please provide stats and data on how many crimes were solved by gun traces. Please provide stats and data on how many more crimes were successfully prosecuted as the result of gun traces or gun trace data. In short, prove that gun traces is a useful function of government other than returning guns to their rightful owner after a gun theft. My guess is that if ATF, FBI, or any other agency had data that actually showed tracing guns back to the original purchaser was useful in solving crime, prosecuting crime, or even just returning stolen property those agencies would be shouting that success from every rooftop they could get on. They don't and I "wonder" why. What do your bills do other than create more crimes and turn law abiding citizens into criminals out of hot air?
How? How do they track guns? How does a number on a gun make it less scary? How does a law stop anyone from breaking it? How does it make you more safe if the bad guy has to steal his gun before he uses it in yet another crime? How do you not understand this? How?
If they can figure out how to 3d print a firearm, they can figure out how to swap out the barrel and obliterate the identifying marks on an existing, usually stolen firearm. Commercially manufactured firearms with the identifying markings obliterated (which is something that's already illegal) make up the vast majority of untraceable firearms. Possessing a firearm as a prohibited person is also already illegal. Using a firearm in the commission of a crime is also already illegal. Manufacturing a firearm for commercial purposes and transferring it to another individual without an FFL holder serializing it is also already illegal. All this does in practice is punish law abiding citizens on the off chance that somebody from law enforcement actually bothers to attempt to enforce this legislation, (which they probably won't because it isn't practically enforceable) in a misplaced attempt to pander to your base. Furthermore, any competent legal challenge will bring up the fact that the U.S has a long standing historical tradition of manufacturing homemade firearms, both from scratch and as part of a kit and that homemade firearms are in common use for lawful purposes. If you want to reduce violent crime, enforce the laws already on the books.
She used the phrase "traditional firearm" ... umm Until the U.S. Military started to put serial numbers on guns, the tradition was ... you made your own and it had no number on it. The only markings on firearms were the makers mark which was intended to get people to buy more from that maker. Also no firearm is more or less dangerous with or without a serial number. There should be no back ground checks, no serial numbers, and no regulation of who sells guns..... why? Because all men free to walk the streets have the right to protect themselves, and if someone is so dangerous they cannot do so... they should not be walking the streets.
Good luck your years behind. There’s 100 guns per person. Imagine every day how many guns pop up untraceable and times that by 10 which is being made or even sold that day
we don't need any more gun laws. go do something useful with your time.

Why don't you write legislation that instead makes it illegal to unalive people? That would work better and infringe on less people's rights.
Despotism is Lucifer's tool and you are his minion.
