Well splatoon 4 IS possible from this code we found and from what I know about Nintendo they don’t stop games as popular as splatoon that easily I do believe they have some plans for the game and if this is splatoon 4 this will probably be one of the first games on the switch 2

I really want 2 or 3 years atleast before splatoon 4. I want time to enjoy splatoon 3 for what it is before i move on to splatoon 4. We don’t know if this is pre-production, if this is a spinoff, if it’s a content extension, nothing. how far along in development this codename is is unknown and I don’t see any reason to panic and/or get your hopes up. Games take a long time to make - it’s natural that Nintendo is planning pre-production of another Splatoon game.
To be realistic right now it's likely development has already started. Games take years to make and splatoon 2 started development instantly once they started to plan splatoon 1's wrapup. its pushing 3 years since release and they are going to start wrapping up the game.
I still feel Splatoon 3 was made as a way to hold fans over until the next console. I think Splatoon 4 is going to be much bigger than potentially all 3 games up to this point. That's probably why the update cycle of 3 has been so lacking, as the developers are putting most of their time into Splatoon 4
Makes sense since of how bad the majority of Splatoon 3 is, Splatoon 3 has been a rushed, lazy, lackluster pile of garbage with only a few good things about it. It is not going to be Splatoon 4, naturally this would be too much for Devs, if we think about it. They JUST finished development for the DLC for splatoon 3 and are still making the stuff for the final splatfest. They obviously aren't working on the next game.
However I do think there's a big possibility that there will be a large peice of content. There may be another game extra (similar to turf war in that it is a part of the game however not central). I personally believe that it will be the third expansion wave, there is things in the lobby that point to this (paths above the lobby if you look up that all connect, which lead to where the stairs next to short store are, which is pass the sign with he crossed out squid, missing snake head from the idols animals in the lobby, the absurdly large space opposite side to where someone spawns in on the lobby map next to the table turf area, there has yet to be a major peice of content that circles the idols from this game [so far, Shiver, Frye and Big man have not been involved directly in anything atory wise], unused space on either side of the "main hall" [where rhe shops are], where there is major construction on a shop, which is yet to be revealed (it is extremely unlikely they would end the third game with construction all over the main plaza)). How this all ties together; it is my prediction that in a goal to keep the benefits of having a "new" game. There will be major content DLCs for splatoon 3 that will come out when Switch 2 is released. (The belief of further content dlcs from the expansion pass comes from the 4 colours included in ALLL of the marketing for the expansion pass) which is extremely strange considering that splatoon 3's mimic is primarily based in 3, so they could have done a three coloured theme, and have done two for all other marketing's. 4 colours for each wave, supported by proposed evidence.

They have a great track record so I think it can be trusted, but things can change. What might be relevant today may be completely different in a few months time. This could morph into something else. We don't know what stage the development is right now so anything could happen
I think Splatoon 4 will be released in October 2029, and I think Splatoon 3 Final Fest will be happening in September of next year as well. I'm hoping Splatoon 4 will have barriers in all of the stages so Spawn camping will be stopped permanently. Spawn camping has been a big issue for all S3 gamers like myself, and paring up with Squid Partiers just don't cut it when encountering Spawn Campers it just loses all the energy and fun for the game.

I hope that if they make another installment of Splatoon they will give us something different, because...At least with Splatoon 3 I did feel that the formula began to become repetitive, even with the additions they made in the third installment, I don't want the same thing to be repeated, the same syndrome that is repeated in other shooters... Splatoon 3 still has a lot to give, and I feel like they'll let it die very quickly if they release more of the same again.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was legit. It was disappointing that The Reef and last two S2 Salmon Run maps for example never made it in, as well as this game lacking many more weapon kits and stage renovations the previous games got every month or so. Hoping they put all their resources into the fourth Splatoon, but my guess is that they gave up on this game after the map and online critiques, it kinda stunted its growth in a way.
I think that Final Fest will be revealed in the Direct of this month. Possibly along with the new switch. I don’t think we’ll get any info about Splatoon 4. Maybe, if we don’t get a content extension, in the September direct of this year or the February Direct of next year. Edit: Apparently not. While I do think final fest has a chance at being revealed next direct, the switch won’t. Which kinda throws me off with my Splatoon 4 reveal. Likely switch 2 trailer.
I honestly think after 2 splatoon games on switch and one nearing the end of its lifespan that they should wait a bit and prob focus on the next animal crossing since the same team at Nintendo that makes splat makes ac and then do splat later cuz otherwise itll get oversaturated plus non-splatoon players were already mad when splat 3 got revealed

I think it's just a rumor. It's going to happen eventually. I hope the next Splatoon takes longer to develop. A new Splatoon isn't coming anytime soon. I'm very confident of that. A spin-off would be so awesome. Hate to be a downer but I don't see a new game in the near future as feasible. The soonest we could get a reveal would likely be at least a year after the final fest like they did with SP3's announcement.
The devs have said that they plan to make more games. Splatoon is pretty grounded as one of the biggest Nintendo franchises, and that isn’t changing for a while
Splatoon is one of the most popular game series of all time in Japan and it’s obviously popular internationally as well. They will keep the series going for a long time for their home audience alone.

Splatoon 1 was released in late spring of 2015. Splatoon 2 was in development for about 1 year after the end of Splatoon 1 updates, releasing in mid summer of 2017. Splatoon 3 was in development for about 2 years after the end of Splatoon 2 updates, releasing in early autumn of 2022. Seeing this, pattern, i feel like Splatoon 4 will probably release at some point in December 2027- January/February of 2028.
It's possible that Splatoon 4 coold be released in summer 2025 more or less for the 10th anniversary or the serie and to be Splatoon of the next machine. Splatoon 3 is clearly in the end and not the most memorable Splatoon game. But, they really should improve the game next time. More content, mooore maps, mooooore game mode and mooore balancing.

It seems way too early for the next entry. The end of 2 to the announcement of 3 was a sizable gap even with extended updates for 2.
If Splatoon 4 gets relased I would like Lil Judd to be the main antagonist.
Personally Splatoon 4 might be the final in the franchise and could be dormant like the Mother/Earthbound series.
