- ‘What Dancers Do’ is a documentary film about the ballet company of the Theater Krefeld und Mönchengladbach under the direction of Robert North.
Based on the final rehearsals for the ballet evening ‘Alles neu’ (Everything new), the film provides insights into the dancers' everyday work, especially under Covid conditions, and accompanies them from training to stage performance. Backstage scenes that usually remain hidden from the theatre audience are also captured from alternating perspectives.
The internationally renowned choreographer Robert North, ballet director in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach since 2010, talks about his life as a dancer and focuses on the complexity of the artistic process. His thoughts on various training methods and on the different choreographies of the ballet evening round off the film.

So exciting!
I really like the kind of dancing of that company. The choreographer is right. We want to see dancing on music we can recognize . And that’s what they do. Can we see more of their productions? ❤️
