Awesome video sir. Next time weld a washer to the broken stud first, then weld the nut to the stud and washer. It gives you alittle more to weld to. Once welded let it all cool before trying to break it loose.
I superglue a fender washer around the stud first, then weld the nut on. Helps with making sure you get the weld in the right spot and protects the head.
I have done many bolt extractions, when using the welder its very important to wait until the bolt has cooled down to original size so it is not wedged in the threading from being super heated, i spray WD-40 on it right after welding so the oil seeps into the threads
Great job with the pliers thos😂.....I put a glob on stud....wack few times with hammer....then weld a washer on the glob.....then its 50/50 alot of the times ill just grab the washer with a pair of vice grips....and sometimes ill weld a nut on top of the washer!!!!
Yeah buddy, another one FAMOUS for the broken manifold bolts are the 99 (new body) to 07 Chevy/ GMC trucks with the 4.8/5.3/6.0. I have another one of mine to do, but keep procrastinating because I can see 6 of 12 are already broken.
that was painful to watch.. i've made all those same mistakes too but not on camera.. i got pretty handy with that idea on the 4.6 , 5.4l. &v10 2 valves.. good tip
I wish i got it done that fast last time. Once you beef it a couple of times i just start laughing and cant concentrate on lining up the weld. Its a pain in the ass but at least when i screw it up i can laugh. I have welded a nut to more than one pair of pliers.😂😂😂

Dude, you showed the screw-ups. Respect.
Awesome job. I’ve seen people push there torch all the way up to the nut and then weld it seems to get in there deeper😉

I have them drilled and tapped in about the same time.
Thats awesome, like the fails. Humbling.

Where is this shop
Yup I’ve never seen a ford modular with a manifold leak. Only those dirty dodges.
What if i don’t have a welder. How else can i go about this?
Drill it out or Heat and try to work it loose with an extractor but if you snap that extractor, you’re going to be rippin pissed
Can we see a video of the inside of your toolbox
And if you dont have a welder you’re SOL 😂
What’s it called
