You know how it feels when on a cold morning the sun light hits you and the warmth is just perfect? Thats how your videos make me feel
Just got a Mamiya and Leica and I’m stoked to be doing these same things! Love the video
Born and raised where you’re shooting, and I appreciate how visually portray these areas.
Hey mate love your photos and cinematography. I think it would be cool if you could add a little section at the end of these types of videos where you comment on the photos, how you think they turned out and what your favorites were. I’d be super interested to know. Cheers
Aaron Moiche I do that with my photos on my channel if you want to check it out?
such a good idea Aaron!
love these dude
love these types of videos... keep it up Sam!
my left ear really loved this video
Get your right ear checked.
😆😆😆
That truck 😍
Love the colors for these photos and videos! Keep up the good work
Can you imagine 24 year old me in 1995 announcing that I'm going to take photos on film! With a short film! Everybody would've gone : yeah so?
Why are all of Sam's videos so therapeutic... amazing work!
Good work Sam, can’t wait to see more of these from you
Hey man ! Loveeeee your car 🤩
dang soooo good!! the photos are amazing.. but so is this video to go along with it!
Yeah these are chill videos, I like them.
This kind of shoot film series always blow my mind ! Love it so much
Yay more truggg pictures. 🛻
Nice vid man! Be careful because you have a big dust on your sensor on the right side. Keep up!
My favorite film photographer ever!!1 SAMUEL FTW!!
Really loving these videos you base around shooting film! Definitely would like more of them in the future. Keep up the great work, Sam!
Don’t ever stop making this kind of vid plzzzzz
Would love to see the process after you shoot these or settings during shooting to achieve such beautiful prints
love that you are bringing your videos back!
Man i just love watching this!!
Best videos!! Love when you go out to shoot film!
Great video; so cool to see your shooting process.
These videos are the best
Beautiful Video as always.
Love the video. If you wouldn't mind would you tag gps coordinates in future videos? Going to LA in a month and would love to check out the spots you've been to
Hey Sam could you do a tutorial on how you expose for film in different scenarios? Portraits are easy to expose for the subject with an incident meter or smartphone spot meter but landscapes baffle me sometimes on film 🤷🏻♂️
loved this one
nice one !
Great video, love that you use the landcruiser as an extension to your work! Can't wait for the next
duuuuude that photo at 11:55 is so dreamy. Love the chill vibes in these videos bro. Keep em coming!
It is right
These types of videos are the best!
I ve never shoot film, i wanted to learn... beautiful pics, love this videos! Hugs from Brazil!
Awsome! weekend is getting better and better
Love these videos - so informative and cinematic. Looking to get into film photography. Would you recommend the Canon AE1?
Alex Marshall it’s a super popular starter camera man I personally would recommend it or the Pentax k1000 - can’t go wrong either way. Film is super rewarding, enjoy it man!
Visit Mexico City more often. I recommend you to visit Oaxaca (Mexican state as well) if you are looking for pretty cultural cities or full of colors.
Why is the sound of loading film so satisfying?
مبدع صور اكثر من روعة عاشق لك من السعودية ❤❤
Your work is definitely valued. Thank you for sharing.
Not sure if you have done one yet but I've asked 1 or two times I would love to see a video on how you process your film. Sure you may get it sent out for development but do you scan it in yourself and how do you edit the shots once in the computer I would love to see the process as your film shots are always so vibrant and crisp.
@@mrnavarropablo Sure but it also cost money so that's why I'm asking, or at least how the scanned film is edited.
oh cool, why didn't I find your channel earlier?
Great Video Samuel! Is there a reason you look through the viewfinder with your left eye? I think that one of the biggest advantages with a rangefinder is that you can see the surroundings with your other eye. Loved the images - I just would like to know if there is a reason for it.
No reason other than I’m mostly left eye dominant. Training my eye to see both 👌🏼
Banger as always! More film videos man!!!!
is he saying "we'll just be taking my mamiya" or has he actually named his camera "mamma mia" lemme know thanks
Good stuff brother!
Sick dash cover! Love the video
Actual inspiration 😩 thank you for your content! 💓
nice as always
How do you get your films digital? Do you scan them yourself or what?
Great photos 👌🏻 what’s the paracord strap you’ve got going on?:)

Been waiting for this one!
Where was the shot that had a view of the ocean? I drove through the hills up there with a roll of Ektar but never found that view
I'm going to Malibu tomorrow to actually shoot film. Lol. What's the locations you shot at?
This is so cool
You're an inspo man
Do you develop the photos yourself?
Great vid!!
I Love your work & videos. Beautiful photographs! Do you develop your own film or do you send it to a company to have it developed for you? What do you prefer is best? Thanks
Hope this isn't a repeated question, but what is the name of your camera strap? Looks like paracord but i can't find it online
You're a photography vlog, and people are 'calling you out' for the kind of coffee cup you use? Wow!
Glenn Stephenson yeah no kidding. That being said I’m also trying to get away from waste by using reusable cups. We all need to do our part.
If it must be said, I also use reusable, but seriously, must there be commentary on every aspect on the guys life? Just let him get on with what he does best...📷👍
The shot at 5:27 would look great with a portrait
Hows that Peak Design Tpod holdin up? Standing the test of time?
We’re gonna be takin mama Mia
哎哟!不错哦!胶片的颜色也太好看了!
nice photos!
Question: what car do you drive and what pelikan case do you use
It’s a Toyota landcruiser. Late 80’s so fj60 if I’m not mistaken?
@@_lowcountry thanks!
When you licked that roll I thought you were flossing your teeth or something lol
Это же пляж где Егор крид снимал клип «что скажет мама» ?
beaaaauuuutiful but I couldn't help but calculate the cost of film watching this 🙈
beginners guide to film photography? I have no idea what 160, 80, or whatever other numbers actuallly mean /:
Damn you must be rich . You've got a Canon 1Dx Mark ii , a Mamiya Film camera and a bunch of lenses - and youre shooting at beautiful Malibu location. You should consider being an actor. Im surprised you are doing workshops but state in your video youre not trying to say you know what youre doing. Yet you've got sponsors, even. Well you've certainly got the tools necessary. - However im waiting to see you bring it more with your shoots though. Your videographer does a good job to present you
Holding a glass cup and talking about saving the planet while driving a gigantic old 4x4...
#Consistency
P.S : Love your photos
Mejdi M. To be fair to him he is re using an old car not buying a new car every few years and disposing of them like most people. Unless we’re all perfect and carbon neutral it’s a bit douchey to call people out on a UA-cam video about photography. He’s getting out, spending a lot of his own time and money to produce great content for you to enjoy, so just watch for what it is and don’t worry about whether he’s using a bamboo toothbrush or wearing an organic cotton t-shirt.
I’m just reacting to something he very pointed in the video (“less plastic, protect earth”). And asked for some consistency. He could for example not include the car in the video, or not speaking about earth protection.
Regarding the car, especially old ones. They can be well recycled, instead of continuing using their old inefficient engines.
Anyway, take a step back. Nothing personal dude...
Time 9:06 - What do you find interesting? Particularly at 3-4 dollars per frame. +scanning. +time for dust removal and PS adjustments. Indulging yourself digitally to shoot harsh sun and asphalt is at least not costing you anything if you shoot something similar to a Nikon 800 series camera and you are getting 36+ MP so if , for some reason, you do not trash it you will have a useable file to work with.
I have shot all over Malibu from the old chancellors' mansion with its boathouse on the canal to Pep campus so I am quite familiar with both morning and afternoon options in the area. Unless you are being paid to generate a series on aging California infrastructure ...
who's filming lol
He reminds me of sam smith
First
Hmm.. just a guy shooting film, which is always cool. Too bad shots is just casual ones, as in ordinary.
Just got a Mamiya and Leica and I’m stoked to be doing these same things! Love the video
