Native American people have a long, rich history in the Southwest. I grew up in Arizona in the 70s & 80s. I remember seeing them displaying their beautiful & intricately designed silver & turquoise jewelry for sale at the rest stops along the highways. It would always be laid out on lovely handwoven blankets, with kind people tending to their wares. I wish I'd taken more time to appreciate the incredible workmanship and skill on display back then. Except in the expensive boutiques in Scottsdale or online, sadly you just don't see it anymore.
I bought one of your cuffs years back in Gallup, and it is a treasure. I'm wearing it right now! Thank you for sharing your talent in this video. God bless you, your work has blessed me!
I've been watching a lot of silversmith videos and I realized in the middle of this that my job was just hanging open watching. Jaw dropping for sure. I am amazed and impressed. Thank you so much for sharing this. I feel like I just found the silversmiths' silversmith.
I love your videos, no talking you let your actions speak for themself in this video. Its a beautiful buckle, I love Navajo art. My great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee very sadly I was very young when she passed. I only have a few pictures of her and I together but I think she would be proud of me to know just how much knowledge I have aquired of my anchesters English and Native American. I practice silversmithing every day whether I have a comission or not, even if I'm not making an item for sale I will pick out something that I am terrible at and do it over and over again. But thank you for you videos.
Thank you for sharing your process. your skill with the saw is awe inspiring and you’re really inspired me to believe I can get better (with many years of practice). I was mesmerized watching this video. Thank you so very much. You have completely inspired me!!
Thank you Charlie, it amazing to see the process of your art piece. As a starting siversmith i have a lot to learn. Love from Holland and thanks a lot. 💖
I do Celtic jewelry and this is a level so much higher than mine. Wonderful work! I am striving to get to Charlie's Level. Keep pursuing your passions everyone!
Teaching myself silversmithing and just goes to show you, you don’t need all those fancy, expensive tools that UA-camrs recommend. What are you using for the torching surface? Absolutely brilliant and true skill!!!
I learn this talent in one day after my father and my grandfather learn me how i use the then i pratice around tweleve hours then my father told me you learn ninety percent but you need more practice specially when you turn the saw
Whst a beautiful buckle ! I wish my sawing skills were up to your par ! What solder are you using ? I solder as you do and haven't found such a thick solder like yours.
So now Navajo makes it somehow better. If that wasn't in the title no one would give a crap. Just some random dude making a piece of trinket jewelry. Costume crap.
I am awestruck. The skill, the heart, soul and the love that went into this piece is breathtaking.

just curious what gauge of silver sheet would be good for waterbird earrings ?
But how did he create the lines going out from the center and space them so evenly?
What did you use to make the starburst pattern?
