As soon as I heard toys r us was going out of business I was so sad but then once I heard it will come back I was like YESSSS ITS COMING BACK
Yeah im so happy
@@Ym_flores My Biggest Memory Was The Wet Milwaukee Morning Smell As You Walk Into A Toys R Us, Then You Run Over To Your Favorite Section, (Thomas Toys) And Look At All Of The Options. And On A Lucky Day Walk Out With One.
I thought it only came back for Christmas a couple years ago
Can I be your friend
Toysrus will never be the same for me once they went bankrupt. That was like my second home in the 1980s.
I worked for babies r us from September of 06 to April of 15. I saw the writing on the wall of the slow down after they bought thete compition and the battle of Bane Capital with the buyout killing them off. When I left my baby store, my manager said the company was in 2 billion in debt. We were both looking to leave. I found new employment and he was able to retire in March of 16. Toys over priced themselves and allowed Amazon to see there inventory style and ran with to become a better place to buy toys. Towards the end, they could not make payments to thier suppliers and one instance owd Crayola Company 34 million in either 2016 or 2017. It is sad Charles Lazarus saw his company go under. Great video by the way!
Ahhh yeah, I worked there as a seasonal employee turned permanent for about a year. This was in 2005-2006. From what I remember things were clean in my toys r us but I was gone before they looked nasty! Sorry to hear you had to jump ship after putting in that time. I work with a guy now who was a manager from 90 until 2002. He said even then it was bad! Sheesh!
And thanks man, I plan on doing more of these style videos in the future, when I have the time.
Man I miss toys R us I went there as a baby and when It was gone I cried all day Im happy its back but its not the same
Honestly this is a really good and thorough and kind entertaining documentary. Great job!
Thank you so much!
I’m very happy that it’s coming back, but I’m also very sad that it will never be like it once was back in 2013-2014 when I went there the most. I never went there much, but it was pure magic going there when I did.
I really miss when toys r us was around back then, I always use to rush to toys r us back 9-10 years ago when I was 7-8 & 9 years old trying to get my hands on the Beyblades metal fight tops they had over there and I just miss the nostalgia, just thinking about it wasn’t even a long time and missing those days soo much and just wasn’t also Beyblades I got too it was also lego city lego sets and Pokémon/YU-GI-YO and Nintendo games I’m crying my ass off 😭😭😭😭
We all miss it friend. I remember Toys R Us in the 90’s. Seeing racks and racks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys (that are worth hundreds and thousands now). That cool fresh plastic smell when the doors of the place would open. The video game cage you’d have to bring the paper slip to after buying the game at the front. Working there as a teenager and seeing new stocks of toys being brought in. It was a magical time for sure.
Don’t be sad that it’s gone, be happy it happened 😊
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio yea 😫😭😭
@@Isinforblood I know exactly how you feel. I feel like I'm experiencing a withdrawal from not being able to see another Toys R Us and relive my childhood more vividly. Same thing goes for video rental stores, arcades and malls.
I miss being really little and seeing all the toys on the shelves, and all the colorful store decorations. Toys R Us was more than just a place for me; it was a whole different mindset that you'd never get in a million years from online shopping. I try not to let this change bother me, but I can't pretend either.
@@littlegreengamer yea exactly I literally feel the same way tho, like toys r us was more then just happiness, it was the best day of our childhood lives just being able to look at the toys and that stuff and mostly anime stuff I was into when I was around 6,7 & 8 years old. Like I wish I can just go back in time and just see it for one last time before never seeing it again and knowing that we can’t go back to see this again which this will now be a forgotten memory but I honestly miss the smell of walking into toys r us and rushing to the toy section and I was soo freaken excited out of my life 😣😭😭
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio rip toy r use in the US
22:35 Wow, I never knew they were still around. My "local" one was around 25 miles away, but it did have the best toys back when I was a kid. I remember getting a bunch of the McQuarrie Star Wars concept art figures for dirt cheap when they had a sale.
My local store was about 15 miles away so I felt your pain. It was always a good time. As an adult before they closed I still loved stopping by every once in a while just to see what was happening in the world of toys. 1995 when the power of the force 2 action figure line for Star Wars started coming out, I bought my first 5 figures from toys r us, this starting my massive nerdy collection 😂
Good times
What a wonderful job man I listen to the whole entire thing!
I seen a commercial that Toys R Us is back in Macy's on Freeform when I was watching Disney Pixar's Up.
That’s sad that Charles passed away as soon as his company died 😔
That’s A Perfect Example Of The Captain Going Down With The Ship…
@@ThatAlfStarDude39175 brooo 😂
I miss Toys R Us. Everytime we'd have to go out of town we'd stop at the Toys R Us and pick out toys. I still have a plush of Geoffrey that I got as a part of the Birthday Club. Thinking about the cool things that I saw and never cared about that I want now ;-;
There bringing it back search it up if you don’t believe me but it’s crazy how they closed it down in the first place
@@M3stic Well I live in a smaller area so I don't when or if they'd bring it back here
@@elaynadiedinside you gotta look on the bright side don’t think negative
@@M3stic how old are you ? And you to play Toys 🧸 like now !
Bring toys r us and blockbusters back to the uk both my childhood shops went down unfortunately 😢😭😢😭
That sucks ugh 😩
Rip toys r us 2018
I really miss Toys "R" Us. I bought toys from Toys "R" Us, Including Playmobil Pirates, LEGO Pirates, Ertl Thomas & Friends, Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway, Pirates of the Caribbean, Fisher-Price Imaginext Pirates, K'Nex Pirate Ship and Mega Bloks Pirates.
Toys R Us is coming back inside of Macy's
Back in 2020, the first International Kids”R”Us store opens
Now there are no action figures in Wal-Mart or target .
And they are all triple the price on Amazon.
Some one messed up somewhere .
Bring back toys r us allready .
What do you mean no action figures? I work at Target and there are action figures...
What Walmart or Target have you been too?
TOYS R US
My cousin who was much older worked at toys r us and sometimes when I was little I’d go to work with him he was Geoffrey the giraffe so I would walk around with him
That’s awesome!
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio it was really fun our toys r us even had an indoor playground so my brother and I would go and play there it hurt the most seeing him into the bosses office and come out looking devasteded
Toys “R” Us is making a comeback in Macy’s
Just glad to see videos I been thinking about. You should continue to make videos like this. I would love to watch how GameStop bought out all other mom and pop game stores. Gamestop reminds me of the modern blockbuster.
I have a book I’m reading on blockbuster video at the moment and I will make one on them, GameStop would be interesting, I’ll have to put that on my “documentaries to make” list.
Thanks for watching!
Says that 2007 version of Geoffrey the Giraffe with the reason why Toys R Us went to bankruptcy haven't you seen the 1965 and the 2001 Abominations of Geoffrey the giraffe
It was a joke. Lol
8:32 jump 🤓🤙
Happy toys r us is back best place on earth
I really hope to see Toy R Us come back in the UK again someday it they managed to make a comeback which I really do hope
It’s happening! Announced in October and re-confirmed this week.
Really is coming bsck?
It came back, but not as you would expect. Toys r us is only back inside macys department stores. They have a tiny little section of toys next to pots and pans. Definitely do not get excited about this “come back”. It’s not like it was in their heyday.
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio Toys r us got to start somewhere. By building it back up.
I really want toy r us to come back I been trying to get my hands on fnaf merch its SAD that its gone😭
Just gotta keep hoping the impossible could happen 😁
but in 2020 it revived in the United States here in Spain it continues to maintain and open new Toys "R" Us stores
but in 2020 it revived in the United States here in Spain it continues to maintain and open new Toys "R" Us stores
I covered the situation of Toys R Us in 2020 in this video, no stores are open again as of Summer 2021 in the US. Also in this video I touch on how stores everywhere else in the world are still open.
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio I am very happy that you covered the situation and thank you for answering me, I would like the necessary hope so that Toys "R" Us will once again be the store that marked our childhood🥺🙏❤
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio 1 HOUR AGOOO
The only toys r us in my area closed down maybe 2018. The building still stands, and you can still see the outline of the Logo. Not even a Spirit Halloween has been there since it closed as it was rather small.
The one that was near me is now a planet fitness. Looks completely different and weird how the building looks now. It’s a nice gym but dammit…lol
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio the one near me is a tj max
@@IndustrialIndustriesWorldRadio dang that’s tough a toy store turned into a gym
I remember on someone’s video the toy r us got turned into like an old people store like Ollie’s
@@flopdrop3530 turns out toys r us itself grew up along with the toys r us kids
They came back on December 17th
The good thing is that Portugal and Spain bought Toys Ur Us and the stores never close
I got the chance to go on the ferris wheel when the flagship store was open when I was a kid. Good memories. :)
I miss Toys RUS I love Toys r Us 😍
This takes so memories 🥺😢
I go to Walmart
Walmart is the one that ruined my childhood store im starting to not like Walmart anymore since this pandemic. The shelves are empty. U can't find any help in there. Even at the customer service ridiculous
I loved Walmart back then, I avoid at all cost now. Overcrowded with people at all times and it’s just too much happening at once.
i remember having a toys r us toy truck
Personally Ilike the brown roof ones the most
I wasn’t even born in 2003 so I didn’t even have a chance to know about Kids r us so I learned something new
They’re back in Macys apparently. These smaller stores don’t compare to the BIG stores as I remember them. Good times
I grew up with Toys R Us. I used to love to eat dinner and then stop by the Toys R Us down the road from us. I could spend hours walking around the store. Looking at everything! I used to love the Mego Superheroes action figures back in the 70's. Of course Hot Wheels and Matchbox as well. Tyco & AFX slot car racing too. Then of course came Star Wars! Those days were truly magical! Especially during 🎄Christmas🎄time! Everything was so fun to see. Just walking into the store gave me, and still does give me goose bumps thinking about it now. I had the Atari 2600 and I remember taking the🚏🚍bus🚏🚍 alone for the FIRST TIME! Well not exactly alone. I had a friend who came with me so I could buy the Atari 2600 version of Donkey Kong. Ugh! LOL! So many great childhood memories! So many wonderful adventures and experiences happened inside or because of that store. It's really sad that kids nowadays won't have the chance to see and experience what it was like to walk into a store dedicated to TOYS and ONLY TOYS!
From 🚲Bikes🚲 and 🚂🚃🚃Trains🚅🚄, to 🕹Video🕹Games🕹, it's the biggest Toy Store there is, GEE WHIZ! I don't want to grow up, cuz` if I did, I wouldn't be a Toys R Us kid!
Those days again were truly MAGICAL! And so much FUN! I can honestly say that I really miss those days and especially that store!
Not a bad video at all, I think your McDonald's one is much better though. This one is more like a conversation and much looser than the more focused, stream of info from the other documentary. Hope to see more from you!
I missed that store I haven't seen them since last time I went there in Rockford Illinois
You forgot to mention R Market, that time Toys R Us decided to have a grocery department. Not many people were fond of this.
When I was a kid toys are us. Was pretty cool. The store was huge.
It’s coming back
This year
I don’t think anyone would believe this, but Toys R Us is open again!
Yeah thats why im seeing this videos im so happy
I know right..
but the thing is is to far away now..

There is a Toys R Us store on the third floor of the Macy's store in Oak Brook, Illinois.
I love toys r us it's my favorite store ever and target to
There was a Toys R Us Express in Illinois back in the 1980s but permanently closed due to the blues brothers slamming their car into Dixie Square Mall via Toys R Us Express and JCPenny the mall was demolished in 2010 after 30 years of abandonment

I remember when they redone the store they didn't close down the store they just closed most of the store and had a tiny part opened
It’s coming back this year
Yes I’ve seen that, pretty cool. I’ll be making an update video at the end of the year.
And even this one has made a massive jump I can't remember but last time I looked at it I think I remembered 128 129 or even 130k. Definitely not no 136k and I very very visibly remember seeing 120k at one point absolutely unbelievable keep up all the hard work brother I am so incredibly proud of you and I could not envy you because I know how hard you work for this and I hope all of these comments I have recently left will not just be spam or words of affirmation but will cause the gods of UA-cam to spike these videos even more. 👏👏👏
I appreciate all you do helping to push me in the algorithm brother with actual real thoughtful comments. This is the video I made that got the ball rolling and made my channel pick up steam. It’s not the biggest video but definitely the video that got my butt in gear to take UA-cam more seriously. This reminds me that I need to make the 2023 update for toys r us soon.
It’s great you have you around on the scene man! 😎
I’m kind of glad I never saw the 2001 design of Geoffrey as a kid. I’d probably be terrified.
Gotta admit the realism is a little too much for a toy store lol
i remember buying nes games there going home finishing it in a day or 2 and returning it for something else they catch on after a few times lol
I miss toy r Us. I remember 1980s me and my brother sometime go there like he man Master of the universe figure. 👍

I pray it comes back to New York. I want them to come to Long Island NY and I want a big one 😩🦒
21:42 - 21:43
I feel as though this man should have merged with Walmart and called it “Geoffrey’s WallyWorld”😂
There was Lionel Play World.
I love Toys R Us
Same!
There were a few locations still open in 2019 and didn't survive the year.

It's coming back things to Macy's
It’s actually pronounced Pa-ram-us. I’m from Bergen country New Jersey I would know as I’ve been to that town countless times.

Come to Canada!
I think Canada still has Toys R Us locations
Toys r us
When Toys R Us comes back, I hope They make a BIG Cool store at Mall Of America Here in Minnesota like The one at American Dream Mall over in New Jersey! And, I also want Toys R Us to bring back The Nickelodeon Toy Factory and Nickelodeon’s Super Toy Run! In fact, I think Toys R Us should give Geoffrey Giraffe and His Family Their own Animated Series on Nickelodeon!😂🤣😍❤️📺🎶🎁👍🏻#Nickelodeon #ToysRUs
On my 7th birthday it closed down that was a sad birthday
COVID 19 did not ruin toys r us to closed….
But the Plandemic ruined everything else which is what it was designed to do!!!

They didn’t need Babies R Us or Kids R Us. There was no reason a Toys r Us couldn’t sell kids and baby clothes…You didn’t need a whole separate store.

We still got Toy Rs us in Ontario
Yeah, toys r us is alive and well outside of the United States as stores outside the country are run by other entities
This Toys R Us vid looks like it's still climbing as well anyhow I will have this comment to reflect back on 128k I think from 121 to 125k last time I looked.
I noticed that all the Toys "R" Us storers that are open Are because they don't have their kids stuck in video games!.... they're still in the living like they were in the nineties!. that's one of the reasons why they closed here in the USA because people were stuck to the TV instead of playing with action figures and barbies etc.....
Yeah, sadly I wish kids aren’t so stuck to electronics like they are now. I love to play video games don’t get me wrong but nothing beats going outside and throwing a ball or skateboarding or whatever. I miss the nineties so damn much,
on toys r us in the 50s 🧸🧸🧸🧸🦒
yesssss toys r us is back now i can buy lego agin
It's a pity toy manufacturers are super greedy high priced boutiques now instead of creating affordable toys.
what could have helped Toys r Us survive is this them getting acquired by Nintendo maybe not all of it maybe just 50% and Disney could get the other 50%
*Canada metrotown has left the chat*
The bad thing is she's not liked the 2007 geoffrey like still but is still a good new makeover and i liked the makeover but why?
