Great job son. Like your wind breaker. Beautiful time of year to be in the canyon with the leaves changing color. Awful cold though. I have done rug road twice, carpet hill and Table Mountain. Way too much road for full size rigs. It is certainly a challenge for anything you're in. Awesome piece of filming.
@@Whitedogoverland Yep. Gladiator on 37's set up for overlanding. Wouldn't mind linking up one of these days, but I would likely be a black sheep with your Toyota/Lexus crew.
hope everyone is safe! grew up in that area, Uncle Clay drove the Grader for the county, Klondyke towards Safford. saw my first Mountain Lion and Jacaranda(sp). beautiful area.
He turned out just fine! That whole stretch of land is fascinating and absolutely stunning. Lots of people over look this area and the aravaipa canyon is my favorite
He was all good just a small fracture in his back! We will be heading back to rug road this spring. Absolutely excited for that. I’ve seen copper states videos on rug road they did a great job!
Great Video, and the End is exactly why you go with a group! but its good to see it wasn't to severe. I'm working on outfitting my FJ for overlanding and its awesome to see someone else in southern AZ too if you do another big run in the area and don't mind an former Army medic tagging along Id love to come out, none of my friends are into it so I'm always down to go out with other local Overlanders.
Cliffs, Abandoned mineshafts, deep pools, Rattle snakes on warm rocks, can all be very deceptive at night even with good headlamps and flashlights. In fact sometimes lights add to the "mirage". Better luck and safer practices.
The inspiring music is really cool, can't use too much of that. You are missing the crackling noises of the campfire. Wondering whether full sizes or Suburbans can make it? We've been going in and out of that road for 40 years.
@@Whitedogoverland just got back a little bit ago, and yea it is I’ve done it a few times as a kid with my dad. We probably made it a little less than half way to parsons grove then my wife wanted to turn around cause we were alone lol . Either way gorgeous area I’ll be back for sure .I’m local to Tucson if u ever wanna run the whole thing let me know!
I did rug road from Mammoth to Arivaipa in 2015 in a 76 Chevy Suburban The road was a lot worse back then. You should be fine in your Tundra. Go real slow and pick your lines.
Just a group of people who spend their time and interests in what they enjoy. You should walk it if you don’t like the content. This is why you have good lighting on your rig!! I can't tell you how many 'overlanding' rigs I see with bs lights, and the owner says "well heck I don't drive these roads at night"!! You may not have a choice, when someone gets injured it's time to go. Without proper lights, you're not getting out at night
East valley sports pullover brings back a lot of memories. All my mitts and bats came from there.
That’s incredible you recognize that. My dads parents owned it back in the 50s until it was bought by a guy up in Phoenix. What a small world!

Thank you it was a great time. Definitely cold in that canyon. I will have to return to rug road next year
Great video and a awesome time! Thanks for letting me tag along the last couple trips.
You make the gang brother need your influential personality around
Great video. I’m from Tucson and am jealous of the tight knit group you got to go on overland adventures with. Keep the videos coming.
Much appreciated, wouldn’t make content without these boys. Have you got a rig yourself?

I think your fast becoming my favorite overlanding channel. Keep up the great work.
My #1 favorite comment. Thank you for your support!

What way do you take to get out there
Another good video brother. Im happy for you to be able to get out and get into it. Looking forward to more content, and the next adventure.
Much appreciated, I’m looking forward to the next one also. They never come soon enough.

Hey there...
The country is so beautiful down there. There is so much to see in Arizona. It's fun to see towns and places of long ago. Stay safe.
Sure hope you friend is ok. Enjoy your videos. Friends in Copper State Cruisers have talked a lot about Rug Road. Look forward to your return.

I used to 4x4 that road with my uncles back in the 80's. I'm originally from southeast AZ.
It’s a neat canyon forsure!

Thx for the videos
Great content! I hope your friend is ok now.
He’s all good! Appreciate it!
Drones do add remarkable unseen by many dimensions to these kinds of YT videos well worth a spare and maybe some extra bells and whistles. IMHO.
I like the content 👍🏾
Appreciate that!

Oh man to look back at the awful music choices I made in my earlier videos. Cringe!
I’m sorry about your friend I hope he’s doing well
Where is this spot? I just moved to az an I’m looking for adventures !!!!!
Did you have to get a permit to get into the canyon ?
No it’s not needed on aravaipa canyon rd, the canyon forks off to the north at a certain point and only accessible by foot
@@Whitedogoverland oh okay cool thanks man! Gonna try to do the whole trail to mammoth
Good luck! That’s a hell of a trail. Haven’t tried to conquer it in my full size yet but it was tight even in my tacomas
