...superb show! Thanks for sharing, they're all great masterpieces I pay tribute to all the great model makers here keeping history alive and generating enthusiasm hopefully for the younger generation 👌
Looked like one of the best shows that Warley MRC have put on, some truly magnificent looking layouts on display and some beautiful rolling stock. The class 82xxx locomotive was also fantastic, what a great job they've done so far. Many thanks for sharing, I haven't been able to get to the NEC for a few years, so this is an excellent video.
Pottendorf at 12:58 was particularly attractive, no attempt to trivialise the scene, lovely muted colours and a feeling of space within just 2,4m. Perfectly presented and my choice as best in show by a country mile despite its small size.
I particularly liked the 3mm layouts on display which I have not seen before in much detail and surprised they are not featured in this video. This really is an ideal scale which is quite bigger than the new TT120, which for me is not much bigger than N gauge and really only appealing to people who want a train set and not for the serious modeller - I hazard a guess that this may have a limited market but only time will tell I imagine.
Excellent sharp and steady footage. What camera gear do you use? Some very short interviews with exhibitors would add even more to this quality video. G. Bishop.
My two tips for steady footage (from an extreme amateur) are - Get a gimbal, good ones start at about £80 and improve your footage no end BUT they are not the complete answer, they can never take into account the natural forwards and backwards movement of your hands ( sometimes made worse by trying to keep still) Don’t try and keep still - a panning shot really helps make footage steady. Even when filming something small close up, a small slow pan helps and looks more interesting. I don’t always succeed but the two tips go a fair way.
No, I was one of the first ones in when it officially opened and beetled down to the ‘bottom’ end then worked up. Most people seemed to go for the stalls near the entrance.
Yep, the iPhone is held to the gimbal by a springy jaw. You must make sure it’s balanced though, ie the phone is level before turning the gimbal on. It takes 5 seconds to do. I just use IMovie on my phone, I don’t have a computer so everything has to be done on the phone.
I aim to keep things as simple as I can, there are much more complicated editing apps which would give better results but I don’t do complicated! I can have a video edited and ready to upload before I get home.
HORNBY TT 1:120 - But NOT 3mm TO THE FOOT SCALE !!!! So Hornby have introduced EUROPEAN TT 1:120 scale. Not BRITISH TT which is slightly larger at 1:100. Presumably to "Kill off" any competition in Britain !!!! Modern Commercial TT, is probably a good idea as the average British home is now to small in reality for OO scale !!!

I came here on Sunday and it was great to be back again at the national exhibition centre
Was it crowded? They say Sunday was a bit quieter.
@@timsytanker it was less crowded on Sunday when I came here

Thank you very much! Your comment is greatly appreciated. Fantastic show but it did get a bit packed!
Absolutely fabulously video production - I felt like I was there 😊
Wow! Thank you very much!
Agree with your comment, George. I was there, and this video is an excellent summary of the exhibition! 👍
@@jkirk3043 Thank you!

It was a great layout 😊
Nice to see, as i couldn't go. you spotted sams trains too!
Complete with bag of goodies and girlfriend!
Love the layouts there. Last time I went was in 2011.
There were plenty of excellent layouts, maybe too many to film!
So many excellent layouts! It would be quite a task to pick the best one. Wish I was able to be there. Cheers from Australia.
It was a great show Jim!
Thank you
A nice selection of layouts. It was good to see the new build 82045 as the centrepiece on the trailer. It should be in steam in the next 3 years.
Thanks! Hopefully I will get to see it in action one day 😊
some very nice layuts there...and interesting trade stalls.....shame i can't go....
It’s certainly worth a visit if you can make it!
Excellent balanced footage, and you always manage to film me lol. ATB, Andy
Thank you! Perhaps the camera loves you?!
Would’ve loved to attended but ironically rails Strike stopped me
How close to the NEC can you get by train?
@@timsytanker the nearest station is Birmingham international
@@aviationtrainsfc1 thank you!
@@timsytanker no problem at all 😉

Is TT120 more of a continental/US scale?
@@timsytanker Yes it is. The products on display at the Hornby stand were not accurate models in my opinion.

Thank you! I just use an IPhone 11 ( the small one with the not so good camera) and a Smooth 4 gimbal (which is playing up!).

Was this all filmed before it opened ? Seems incredibly quiet?

Which day is less busy?
Sunday is usually less busy.
It won’t be long until we get 82045 like county of Glamorgan betton grange and county Montgomery be in steam soon along with 2007 prince of wales
Any idea when it’s going to be ‘in action’?
@@timsytanker no idea yet we just gonna have to wait and find out
I have just confirmed that this is The warley model railway show of 2022 where I myself was an exhibit
