Powerful and very relevant sermon for leaders in all aspects of life. Let God lead us in everything we do at all times. What we perceive as punishment may be God's way of preparing us. Lord, please give us wisdom to see the difference.

Dear Pastor Snell. I praise God for your ministry and the powerful soul-stirring messages. I have listened to a few of them, and I praise God for His anointing on you. May God continue to use you mightily in the days ahead as well.
I just listened to this sermon of yours “A Tale of Two Egos”. The theme is amazing. But I humbly disagree to your interpretation of David in your narration. You said, “God never tells David to go and fight Goliath.” You also pointed out and emphasized the ego in David where he kept saying “I”. But what I read in the Bible and in the Spirit of Prophecy is different.
Ellen White clearly says God directed David to confront Goliath and save Israel. “But, unknown to Jesse, the youthful shepherd had been entrusted with a higher mission. The armies of Israel were in peril, and DAVID HAD BEEN DIRECTED BY AN ANGEL TO SAVE HIS PEOPLE.” {PP 644.4} (emphasis mine).
Ellen White clearly says it was for God’s zeal and honour (and not his ego) that he went to fight the giant. “He was FIRED WITH ZEAL TO PRESERVE THE HONOR OF THE LIVING GOD and the credit of His people.” {PP 645.1} (emphasis mine).
David did not display any self or ego when he rationalized with Saul about his past successes. He gave credit to God. “He replied in a simple, unassuming way, relating his experiences while guarding his father's flocks. And he said, "THE LORD THAT DELIVERED ME out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, HE WILL DELIVER ME out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee."” {PP 646.1} (emphasis mine).
Also, the Bible is also clear in the entire story that David was God-focused and not self-focused. 1 Sam 17:45 “Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I COME TO THEE IN THE NAME OF THE LORD OF HOSTS, the GOD OF THE ARMIES OF ISRAEL, whom thou hast defied.” } (emphasis mine).
We also see in the Bible, David had two opportunities to kill king Saul, and take the throne, but he refused to take the reigns in his own hands for he wanted the Lord to act in His way and in His time.
Yes, David faltered in few areas in his life, later, but in the incident of fighting Goliath he was directed by God and gave glory to God. It was God’s leading and not David’s ambition.
May God bless you always pastor Snell, and your amazing ministry. Your brother in the Lord Jesus, Michael Pedrin, www.ClearBibleAnswers.org

    Pastor,
This sermon is a blessing, but you injected scorn on Trump as if he is a danger to the church. This is 2023 and now it is clear who is a danger to the church it is not Trump pushing immorality on society what about cesspool of corruption we are seeing, wars and the massive debt along with unemployment, inflation and massive attack on religious freedom and individual liberty, high interest rate, high drug overdose etc. I have never been to an Adventist church that speak truth about democrat policy and impact, but the association of Republicans and Trump to bad things has been like a bone to dogs. We should stop being unjust by speaking badly about people we done not like or have been conditioned to dislike while ignoring the disaster the people we like is doing. This will not make us better Christians but show us as hypocrites. Who is corrupting the schools, colleges and universities? In Texas since abortion reform was instituted 10k more babies were born in 9 months most of which are black. Which party has been pushing abortion for 50 years and how have that decimate the black population? How about the banning of gas stove and the crazy environment movement, forcing people to take medical procedures and firing them if they do not. So it is time for Adventist to open their eyes to facts and not continue to be deceived into being against people who is actually supporting there interest as opposed to the other side who are hostile. I am not saying we should be political but when we act in this obviously bias way we are being political and hypocritical at the same time. What about the new push to CBDC that is designed to create totalitarian state which party is pushing it? So we can no longer be a slave in our thinking as the consequences will be severe for the present and future generations..
Did you notice the glee when pastor start Associating Trump to the devil at 54 minute.
