So glad to hear you were able to save the drives and get your personal photos and unpublished videos back! Lead free solder used in modern electronics melt at a higher temperature than old school leaded solder so that must of helped. Wife works at a high tech company and she always complains that doing rework on lead free solder PCBs are a pain due to the higher melting temp. I think the video card and memory cards you pulled out will work. 🤞 Looking forward to watching your future videos again. Been busy doing renovations in the home this past summer. Mostly replacing the carpet with wooden flooring. Also congrats on getting over 1K subs! Missed that!
Wow I didn't know that (solder). I mostly assume every thing old school is better. Definitely makes sense though. The amount of heat I've had to apply to help re-flow modern day boards is crazy. And yes mate, I was almost jumping for joy when all the drives registered and I got my content 😀 Ahh... I'll be having to make a similar decision pretty soon Vic. I love carpet, but mum and dad think I'd be crazy not polishing my floor boards upstairs when I restore the place. They're the super cool incredibly narrow ones. Wait till you see the burnt underside charring of some of them above my bedroom. And thanks man! Took long enough lol. Not sure my youtube channel name is doing me any favours lol
