I am so glad I saw this great series. We sailed with our adult children on the Triumph while they were actually renovating at sea before drydocking. We have been on quite a few cruises and it was not a good one. Our attitude is always every cruise is a good one but it was just not. I understand it was rare that they start the renovating before going into drydock as they did. I am very happy to see that they have made such great renovations as they changed the name. We do love Carnival and are Platinum. Thank you both !
Thanks for this one. Pretty atrium! You are braver than I would be with that bunk corner hanging over the bed! I'd be smackin' into that every time! 😵 That's really nice with all the outlets/chargers. "Trampoline bouncy-do"...I'm still laughing!
Ah, I hit my head a few times, hah... that's always awkward to have those extra bunks that were installed after the ship was built, ha ha... but having all those outlets... such power!! :P
Oh cool! I didn't even know the Sunshine had cabins on 5 aft with the Havana Bar area back there, but they did away with that on the Sunrise, sadly. That was our favorite hangout zone!!
Embarkation Day= the best day! We can't wait for the fun ships to start sailing again. It has been many years since we've been on a carnival! We are eager to get back onto a Carnival!
I was on the triumph in 2000. I am planning to maybe go on the Sunrise 2021. It does look a lot different, especially the gold color. Thanks for the tour
We don't remember a ton about the Triumph... I still need to go back and look for my photos from our 2009 cruise, hah... but it was fun to explore a "new" old ship!! :P
Cool room! It’s like a side view 4J! We love the 4J’s at the front of the ships overlooking the “secret” decks. We feel like we pay for an interior and get a balcony.
Poor Dee - I can't imagine having mouth pain and still trying to enjoy embarkation day. Jay, I thought for SURE when you mentioned the "major downfall of the elevator" that it was going to be a joke (you know, DOWN... FALL...), but it was about ducks. Just when I thought I knew you! LOL! I've been watching "The Cruise" on UA-cam (obsessed!!), and, since it's all about the behind-the-scenes stuff, it makes me wonder even more what happened to that lady they were calling down to security. Hmmm...
She was quite the trooper for having just been at the dentist the day before for hours on end... yow! We sort of used this as a nice, restful cruise, and a laundromat, ha ha... :P
We sailed the Triumph in 2016 and was scheduled to go in the Sunrise in September from NY but it got canceled 🙄 Looks like such a cool ship...I love your cabin! Definitely gonna rebook this ship when the world gets fixed.
Thankee! Yes, that's considered an "interior" so it's super cheap, hah... even if you have to look at the back of folks' heads sometimes out your window... :P
we recently (Nov. 1-6 2021) went and I want to thank you for all you comments and suggestions about the Sunrise. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. Your tip on the snorkeling spot was really helpful we saw so many different varieties of fish. Getting back to cruising was kinda scarry but proved to be no big deal. everything went just fine. We actually swam with the pigs in Nassau that was a blast everyone needs to do that. The tour people were great had so much fun. Hope to bump into you on another our next is The Pride to Bermuda in October. then New England in 2023.
I've been waiting for this vlog! We were on this sailing but didn't realize until we got back home and ya'll were in one of are pics of the playlist productions!
The muster drill comments you made were pretty funny lol. 6 muster drills in one month! I know when I do many B2B's on NCL, it's muster once every 30 days :)
Did you enjoy your stateroom location? We had an ocean view room close to the International Cafe on Princess. We really liked the location and no noise from the Piazza. The ship looks awesome. Excited for these vlogs. Thanks so much for taking us along.
I think the main difference is that ours looked out onto a public walking deck, and an "ocean view" would literally be looking out onto the ocean with nothing in the way, hah... didn't really bother us that much for the price!! :P
Yep yep! Our cabin used to be either part of the entryway to the lower level of the theater, or some sort of storage area maybe. The theater was reduced from three decks to two, with cabins installed at the front of Deck 3, just like they did on the Sunshine.
Love all the outlets, we usually have to pack power strips. We have never paid for the bakery goods. Are they much better than the free ones on the ship? Haven’t sailed on a Carnival ship for 30 years, you make it look tempting?🐸
We haven't tried any of the new pastries, hah... we had a slice of carrot cake from the coffee shop on the Ecstasy, and we had an apple strudel many years ago on either the Pride or Fantasy, but those were both old menu items, I think!!
Hopefully we still be going on carnival breeze on October 10th 2020 : st Martin, st kitts, San Juan & grand Turk - 8 days eastern/ Fort Lauderdale, my 1st platinum carnival cruise & Halloween fun 🎉🎉🎉🎃🎃
theyre going to be so confused on why you have so much laundry on the first day lol and yes Jay its the trampoline thinga majiggy or whatever youd like to call it! This ship looks so nice now -- was this the Triumph before?
@@parodeejay so pretty, i cant wait til the Victory gets the makeover too and becomes the Radiance ... she is the ship ive been on most (4 times i think since shes always in my home port) and i wanna be able to experience the new and improved.
I know you will probably address this in your wrap up video, but would you chose that cabin again? The extra bed looked a little cramped. Can you move the little couch? I could tell that Dee was not feeling well but it's okay to relax on a cruise. Afterall, it is a vacation. Thank you for sharing.
We really loved the cabin and the location, and the bunk didn't bother us TOO too much... we hardly ever actually sit on the couch (sadly, it becomes a storage area, hah...) but it was a little annoying to have the bunk next to my head when I sat on my side of the bed. Apparently they have some of the same or similar cabins closer to the front of the ship, and we're told that some might even be front-facing windows, which is intriguing!!

Nice to be cruising again...lol. Not impressed with the new version of the ship so far. Almost the same as it was. The new table in the cabin seems to be a good idea (room service); however cheap & ugly one they selected. Glad you don't get all that loud music on that cabin. Best thing to come out of this covid-19 mess is the E-muster. Thank God that is sticking around.
