We have the same problem in my community. Parents want to 'save' their sons who have girlfriends and marry them off to 'pure' girls from the family. So wrong on all levels, especially for the innocent brides who have no clue that they are marrying someone who is in love with someone else.

Ignore them. It will happen in its own time appointed by Allah. Trust me, it will happen not when you or people wish it but when Allah wishes it. InshAllah.

My parents never accepted any rishta for us sisters that came from outside Pakistan. They politely declined. The reason being they said was that we don't know him that well, even from relatives. I think they were very wise in that sense.
Yes that's true never accept rishtas for daughters when you don't know what the family is like

I'm transplant & mum and work 36hrs to support him but they way I get spoken too is so bad and I put my foot down on this! I told him treat me how u wanted to be treated with love, care, respect and have mercy on me don't shout, talk down at me like I'm dum... I hate it when they speak to like rudely
