It's funny how they wanted to build the game similarly to Diablo 2, but they didn't take a page out of Diablo 2's book when it comes to items. Most classes had 1 unique item per item slot. So for example, a Druid could only get Penitent Greaves. So any time a druid sees unique boots drop, they already know what it will be. Now compare that to Diablo 2 where a druid would have 13 options for unique boots, and that's not even counting the set items which are just as powerful. The druid set boots in particular are a bis option for a lot of classes. That's just boots. There are 37 UNIQUE CHEST PIECES in Diablo 2. That's 37 options for just uniques, not counting set items. Compared again to Diablo 4 where nearly every class just has 1 unique chest option. That is the problem. Plain and simple. Players, myself included were assuming that all the uniques were coming in Season 1, but they did not, so the game died instantly, especially after the season mechanic turned out to be some 0.005% effort mini-mechanic.
Indeed, I've read that itemization is possibly one of the worst parts of D4. The least they could have done to curb the crappy drops is give more ways to craft gear rather than just retreading the same ground as D3.

@@iitzrubz I don´t know how players in other countries act or how they build their personal references. I am an old gamer, i still know a lot of people from the 2000s up to now that all loved the old blizzard titles, but we are already burned childs from the diablo 3 desaster, most of the old crew played the d4 open beta and all of us got already bored after 3-4 hours loosing all hope for a franchise comeback. No one preordered or bought the game. So the only thing that still makes me wonder is what unteachable type of person still clings so hard on that franchise that i for myself sadly already declared lost.
It's not about the lack of content... D2 has minimal end game content, yet it's still played over 20 years after release. The BIGGEST issue is that itemisation in D4 is an absolute skunk shit. There is 0 chance of D4 getting better if they won't scrap all the items and totally remake them and all the itemisation systems to something entertaining, interesting, rewarding, wanting us to replay even the same content over and over. Then they can add end game contet, which will make it even more enjoyable.
You were saying that Blizzard did not intentionally do the battlepass bonuses that were "bugs" I don't think it was a bug for the gold cost to go up on things. I don't think it was a bug that they nerfed drops/exp/dmg by almost ~40% across the board and then magically a battlepass comes out to grind your way back to getting 8% of it back. I don't think it was a bug that they used the dark tunnel for ACTIVATING the battlepass.. i mean it went RIGHT to the option and didn't even confirm when other companies have been sued over this! The game is in BETA and we all know it, needs another 2 years of development. It'll be half way decent and hopefully not dog shit by season 28, just like Diablo 3.
2:45 even funnier than D2 having more viewers is that somehow Heroes of the Storm had more viewers at that moment! Blizzard literally killed that game years ago, yet somehow it was still generating more interest than D4.
When latest D3 season came with a paragon cap and a ssf mode and a decently fun seasonal mechanic it just highlights how hard blizzard blundered everything. D3 could have been so much better and more alive with attention like this YEARS ago, before 95% of people had permanently given up on it, and now the new flagship D4 doesn't have nearly the same amount of QoL and features as D3 anyway D4 bad Baseg
Considering how much time and effort they put into D4 while squandering D3 and yet we see how things turned out for D4, really paints an ugly picture about what's been going on at Blizzard, behind closed doors if they couldn't muster up a decent successor with over 9000 people being involved in this damned game.
The gaming community has let companies get away w/ being able to release incomplete games. Maybe the money is there to just release early or selling expansions that fix issues. Wolcen had the bug where you couldn't kill the final boss. Cyberpunk had tech issues. D4 needed more time.
cyberpunk board of directors forced the developers to release the game early, devs said they needed 2 more years on the game, they didnt want to release and knew it would suck.
"is D2 relevant?" of course it fucking is, it will be until the end of time. PoE would not exist in it's current form if it wasn't for D2. Show a little respect to your forefathers.
Idk if this is a hot take, but PEAK D4 was the server slam getting to level 20 and trying to kill Ashava before it ended. That boss music and fight was 10/10 at the time and got my hyped for the game. If they somehow captured that moment and made the game around that it would have been great.
It had moments of greatness. I feel like it was 70% of a great game. A lot of what's there is great, but it just feels unfinished and sort of shallow or hollow.
Probably right, but even in the server slam weekends the open world was super sus. Like within 20 seconds of entering the map at level 1 the place is overrun with deer and squirrels and raccoons and shit. More deer than Fallen lol. Major red flags there and it never got better...
I had way more fun playing Wolcen than I ever did playing D4. No bullshit. Fell asleep during D4 beta twice, cancelled pre-order, uninstalled beta, and got popcorn for the drama.
The way quin tried to justify the Blizzard SA allegations at 21:02 with a comparison of other SA incidents in other entertainment fields is enough cope and simpiness to fuel a multiverse. Be better Quin Be better
Always sus when a game hides their endgame in promo material. Like great, when you have zero attack speed and fight 3-5 enemies at a time the game looks neat, but that has zero bearing on how the game scales into higher levels which is where the majority of time will be spent for customers willing to buy mtx or battle passes or whatever. Lo and behold, D4 comes out and people realise that the endgame is non-existent and the devs did zero work to create a robust and deep endgame players could aspire to.
Knew shit was off since the paid beta weekend and they didn't have a HUD map when you pressed tab. That told me none of the 9000 employees that made the game have ever played an ARPG...
If they don't pause and discuss the video content, then it isn't transformative and fucks over the original uploader's channel. Are you new to this concept?
I had a great experience when it initially launched. Only like 1-2 quests were bugged, nothing that bad overall. Looking at clips/videos bashing the game was weird because I had no idea the issues were that big.
It'll be too late when Quin realizes, actually there are evil people in this world who exploit people for money at least. Ironically, that's how many companies/studios have died. But first, maybe he needs to work on a real job to face these people.
Haven't bough a blizzard game since SC2. Haven't bought an EA game since BF4. Haven't bought an Activision game since MW2. Haven't bought a Bethesda game since Skyrim. Haven't bought an Ubisoft game since FC4. And I got all of those from a sale.
2 reasons I stopped playing and caring about D4. 1. I worked 28 days straight in July making good money and was living out of town in some motel, and on a ship for some time. Caught up on reading thoug. 2. Baldurs Gate 3 came out. Since BG3 I played Starfield for maybe 20 hours, Pathfinder WOTR for 30 hours, new cyberpunk update for an hour, and... back to BG3 again.

Im not disappointed in D4 because i didnt buy it. I am however disappointed in the gaming community that after all what blizzard has done still decided to blindly buy that pile of crap. Blizzard made their buck. I am honestly astonished that they still try to save it. I would expect them to shrug their shoulders and call it a day.
the sexual assault ALLEGATIONS had zero proof as far as I've seen. I've disliked blizzard for a myriad of other reasons and personal experience with actual proof. The allegations were at the height of feminism, and I heard so many false accusations all the time, they hold no weight.
Anyone who bought D4 and is now saying they'll never buy another blizzard game is deluded. If you hadn't wised up by D4, you were never gonna wise up. Your resolve will evaporate the second the next Blizzard title is launched. I look forward to hearing all of you say the exact same thing when that game sucks too. Keep those wallets handy, paypiggies.
In my opinion immortal is a pretty good game for a mobile/pc crossplay gacha with some of the best events/pvp in the genre (nowadays a lot of balanced pvp events). The shetstorm with immortal was so strong imo bc of the way they presented it considering that the blizzcons audience are pc gamers. If they wouldve at least prepped some screenshots for d4 and been like "hey we have this mobile game made with the diablo IP for you to pass the time untill d4 is here" then it wouldve been an amazing blizzcon.
Solitaire is a better game then D4. Lets be real. D4 is a 4/10 game at best. It's definitely a dead game and even if you add content that won't fix it. This is way bigger of an issue then just content.
Quin doesn't understand that D4's content problem is the systemic result of its underlying poor design choices and not simply a matter of developers needing more time. For example, if PoE's loot pool worked how D4's did then it too would have massive content problems as most of the league content would become obsolete and irrelevant. Everything would effectively boil down to spamming what dropped the largest volume of high tier loot. No one would make character builds to do uber bosses if they lacked a high value/demand unique loot table. Also, D4 has another problem on the other side of the coin with its character systems and itemization. It's so top-down heavy that Blizzard devs are never going add meaningful additions to skills and items until an expansion. The whole reason PoE got to where to this point is due to it being bottom-up design with its tag system. GGG can basically plug-in-play skills, supports, items, and passive updates all with compounding effect on customization. D4 devs literally to add one skill that is useable have to integrate an update to a skill tree, add new items/aspects for power augmentations, and update the itemization affixes all for a fixed single build option for one class.
the amount of time that we spend talking about money and bad performance is so much superior to the time we spend playing decent games. So gaming industry for me is over. Finally showed up its true nature, after 20 years.
the weird thing is that many of the remade games would be successes if they just made them in new game engines and not change the mechanics at all. yet EVERY time they fuck it up. Many of us like the old games its just they've become dated graphically.
They're probably already working on the next Diablo project, but it takes years to produce. In the meantime, their interest is to keep D4 relevant in hopes of generating sales of expansions and micro transactions.
what sales? If their first few expansions or bigger sales flop completely they will abandon it 100%. Then again some fans might go for it, hard to tell. Im surprised every time, they get away with these pricetags.
also they are already in the top most sold games in history... they don't need to fix anything. They could wait a year, put out a bad expansion and get another payout
@@RiceaxeGaming well that remains to be seen. For me it'll depend on how much improvement they make to the core game on whether I'll pay for an expansion or not, but that's just reality: they made a live service game, so they're going to/planning to try and keep generating revenue from D4 in the meantime.
Dude, I caught a guy trying to steal my breast milk at work, no joke. It's a weird fetish thing. Whether that specific incident happened at Blizzard, idk, but it happens. All that aside, theComebackKids completely missed the boat entirely on what it was that made players desert D4: progression and combat feel. What I found myself doing was accruing an entirely new set of gear and paragon points before making the swap/allocating the points to get that dopamine rush of finally making headway against the mobs. I was also fighting mobs I was way under leveled for to simulate the kind of progression I was craving. I also found myself getting increasingly frustrated with resource and cool down management, because a lot of the reductions are RNG based (and God help you if it's some lucky hit bullshit) and I could never settle into a rhythm with my build. In PoE and D3, the best part of getting the core setup done for your build is that you stop having to consciously think about how your build works, your muscle memory takes over, and you can then focus entirely on what the mobs are doing. You guys will have to tell me if this is true of PoE, because I've only played a few leagues, but I know for sure in D3 that *any* mobility skill will break CC on your character, and in D4 this is quite obviously not the case. In other words, it never feels like your build has come together, or that it ever can. Now let's talk about a game that's actually good besides PoE: Elden Ring. The combat feel and progression of Elden Ring are some of, if not the most, satisfying in gaming history. You start out with a pathetic character that can barely do anything and end up a god slayer, and as you progress through the zones, you naturally find smaller objectives to work toward, whether it's getting the stat requirements to use a new weapon or spell, beating a boss that wiped his ass with you the first time, figuring out how to get the item you can see from the distance, progressing a quest line, etc. And as you meet those challenges, not only does your character get stronger, but you learn more, you gain more tools to solve problems, and become more skillful at the game, so that the next difficulty spike doesn't feel like bullshit. And yes, they reuse mobs, but they add mobs and give mobs new abilities to keep things fresh, and FromSoft's main bosses are the stuff of legend. PoE isn't better than D3 or D4 because it's more complex: it's better because the systems give you large goals made up of smaller goals that are achievable, and when you achieve them, result in progression you can feel, and the mobs keep getting harder not just in terms of numbers but in terms of mechanics to learn, but it doesn't feel bad because you can still apply what you've already learned, and you feel skillful tackling the new challenge with all the tools you've accrued throughout your play through. People are bored of D4 because they aren't getting their dopamine fix on time. It's as simple as that.
Man when i think Back to the pain and boredom of playing d4 i am Just so Happy that Poe exists. Hearing "renown" and "Altars of Lilith" makes me want to vomit...
I'm glad these shit companies are getting canned and losing all their money. It's pretty simple, you put out trash you will cop the pain. Same as any AAA dev.
You should learn about "agile", which is the methadology most dev companies have addopted. I think its part of the problem of a lot of these companies shipping an unfinished product time and time again.
I have some experience with coding and development methodologies. The Agile method isn't the reason. It literally just means "Make it as you go and adjust plans" rather than the Waterfall method which is "Plan literally everything down to the tiniest detail and never deviate from that plan even when it turns out bad". The real reason is that the companies want to make as much money with as little effort as possible. Game companies realized people would grudgingly buy unfinished or low quality products. So that's what they do now.
I was in the early access endgame beta. Played a lot. And all the problems Quin mentioned were there. The bad itemisation, The lack of endgame goals to pursuit, the boring paragon board, the pseudo "tier sets" presented via legendary aspects with the illusion of choice. All that was visible. and i personally wrote it as a feedback. Even made a lot of suggestions how to improve things. (im also in the gaming industry so i know thing or two) Nothing changed. We got pretty much 99% of that beta on release. (edit.. oh i remember one good thing that was on the endgame beta. The uber uniques actually excisted. Still rare but.. it was excited to pick up uniques... compared to.. now)
Diablo 4 promised more than No Man's Sky, but No Man's Sky still somehow provided more. And No Man's Sky has overdelivered on content since and are still pumping, Diablo 4 however it's not even trying to crawl out of it's own grave, it just digs deeper.
Smart. Same here. The ones of us who have learnt our lessons funding the lax attitude of game development in the past can move on. The fanboys will never be able to see past their own desires for what these modern games companies truly are.
@@Jizzlewobbwtfcus sadly this is why we have very few quality games. Because they dont need to make a quality game to make lots of money. So it is a bit painful to watch people to fall for this, at least for me
I'm playing d3 currently. Not planning to buy d4, I will try poe or Poe 2 before. I am a diablo fan, but diablo immortal blew the franchise out of the water for me.
The video was just painting the downfall perspective. It's not the whole story, but it's also not inaccurate. I stepped away from gaming for a while after growing up playing Warcraft 2/3, Diablo 1/2 and StarCraft. The last blizzard game I'd played prior to Diablo 4 was StarCraft 2. I felt like Diablo 4 was like 70-80% of a great game. It had a lot of fun systems and a great vibe/setting/design. Unfortunately after a couple months of being obsessed, I lost interest due to the lack of any compelling end game content or replayability. I can only speak to my experience with D4, but it did feel disappointing, but not because it was bad, but because it was so good, but felt unfinished and misguided. I really hope that somehow blizzard can get some better leadership and be given the resources, autonomy and time it needs to make the game that Diablo 4 should have been, though I do fear those days are behind us now with Activision and Microsoft owning the company.
Study and making deadlines for 3-5 years then work for a company which is basically a condenced dictatorship, having to go their at set hours and getting nowhere near as what you should be payed for (you got hired in the first place bcs they know they make profit out of you) =/= your job, which is opposite of everything I mentioned in the former. If you think those are the same and a 10 hour work day is the same in both situations you're straight up ignorant.
Expansion? Unless it's free, nobody is buying that hahaha. Look at poe. Expansion every couple of months all free and it's all captured within seasons. If they don't give it all out for free, it's dead and will remain dead.
I'll check it out again in like season 4 when it's actually closer to the game that it should have been at launch. And if it's still not done, I'll check back around season 8. Plenty of other games to play until then.
i don't mind if they make d4 a d3.5 style end game. just put a leaderboard already so i can start farming 3% incremental dmg increase on my gear. I'm not even exaggerating
I agree completely with Quin on this one. This video is completely hyperbolic through and through. The only shocking thing is that player counts are down 99%. There's no arguing: they dropped the ball hard. But come on. Really stretching the narrative here.
A number without a source is a number without merit. Considering that many twitter posts for specifically D4 get more than 400k interactions, just shows that this number is hog wash.
If you type "diablo 4 peak concurrent players" in google search, at the very top it says 6.7 mil at peak and now it's 42k daily, but that figure seems to be inconsistent with other sources (which put the current number between 200 to 400k). If you click on the article which gives those above figures, they do not cite their source (naturally). Dogshit "journalism" at its finest. Makes for great clickbait tho.
people dont play d4 anymore but they are staying for the drama. wouldnt be suprised at all if its 99% cause i used to play with 20 people and none of them are active anymore including myself
lol, apparently quinn hasn't met anyone like me. when a gaming franchise goes woke or becomes predatory I leave and don't go back. They never see a cent of money in the *first fucking place* unless they prove themselves to me. We've all been scammed by pre orders, the only difference with me is I learned the lesson.
Developers need to stop asking the community what they want in the game as if they will be able to please everyone!! Thats the problem, developers should get some balls and make the calls, build the game the way you see fit, sell it as you intended to make it and if the community dosnt like it dont play it but damn developers get some FN balls your the developers not us!!! Plus D4 say its multi player whith no raids no LFG TRADE SELL OR LOOKING FOR CHAT OPTIONS, imagine a game were the multi play is following your friends around who are all at diffrent lvl's all doing there own thing and then call it a multi player game REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Biggest disappointment in gaming history" is exaggerated for sure. A lot of aspects of the game (sound design, animation, fx, graphics...) definitely have merits. The shortage is game design.
14:20 No No I am not a blizzard fanboy, correct. And I don't understand why so many of you are. The closest thing I had to fun from them was heartstone. Overwatch seemed fun but like a smart person I waited for proper reviews and avoided that disaster.
I have truly never witnessed a game that has so much relevant constructive feedback on more or less every aspect of the game… This game is a let down. Much of the game’s mechanics where already in D3 and they just added them in D4, yet they some how managed to make it worse and less enjoyable. Comparing it to a games like POE or BG3 who seem to actually be looking at solving all these “player issues” that take from the gamers enjoyment, whilst Blizzard just ignores the facts and diminishes their players/gamers/fans wishes, too grind hours out of them. What they end up getting are lots of frustration due to the fact that as a gamer you are forced to focus so much of your playtime doing things you don’t want to, just to be able to play the parts that you enjoy for a short period of time. This game (D4) was far from ready to be launched. As for now it needs a full on reboot, and some heart and love. Blizzard, don’t look at the short term payments players make for you to earn money, look at the long term investments that players are, that will keep the company, the legacy and the community alive, that will steadily gain you money as well.

Indeed. What will it take for people to learn Blizzard won't change.
Then they can add end game contet, which will make it even more enjoyable.
ive watched the entire video already. D4 bad
You were saying that Blizzard did not intentionally do the battlepass bonuses that were "bugs"
I don't think it was a bug for the gold cost to go up on things.
There's a lot more dumb shit he said, or stuff that directly contradicts himself 2 sentences later, dont even bother bro.

Blizzard where the best game company ever. , so how could it go this wrong. Greed.
D2R killed modding support and LAN, if that's a W for you you deserve the games nu-blizz makes today.
Always remember, Wudijo said the endgame was good and had the game a month before release.

the weird thing is that many of the remade games would be successes if they just made them in new game engines and not change the mechanics at all. yet EVERY time they fuck it up. Many of us like the old games its just they've become dated graphically.
Bold takes. I think Blizzard will abandon D4 just like they did with WC3. Blizzard is not Project Red. They´ll just make D5.
You still supplying?

Everyone who play tested this game mentioned the stash tab.

Down 99% according to who. Where that guy even get the number

"This video is bias" said the pot to the kettle.
