Dude, you made my day, you're a godsend !
Cool! Thanks so much!
Saved me some time and money with the explanation. Thank you.
Thanks works like a charm!
This tip destroys the o rings. Thanks
Sorry to hear that but you definitely must have did something wrong, mine are sill working perfectly and I do it to a lot of shocks all the time with no problems.
I just did this trick to my mad van shocks after watching this video. So far so good. 👍
Great to hear! This works on most all RC shocks.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE INFO ON HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM FROM LEAKY ABSOVER NICE VIDEO SIR
I HAVE PROBLEM MY ABSOBER LEAK TOO I FOLLOW AT YOUR VIDEO BUT NOW ITS OK ALREADY THANKS AGAIN
Cool!!
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
Good tip Steve. I am gonna give this a try on the shocks from the caster racing s16b
Cool! if they are leaking by the shock shaft this can work.. try a thin washer first and then a thicker one if that don't work. see what happens hopefully it will work for ya.
Great tip Steve! I'll definitely try this next time! Nothing worse than a leaky shock. It makes such a mess and gets dirt covered in everything. Thanks for sharing the tip buddy! 👌
Your welcome! This is definitely worth giving a try if the shocks leak from the shock shaft part from the O rings.
Nice easy fix that costs nothing. Great idea, Steve! 👌😎👍
Thank you.
That's a good trick Steve 😀👍🏻🤘🏻😎
👍 Thanks bud!
That's an awesome tip, dude. Definitely trying to seal my cr-12 shocks now. Can't get them to stop leaking.
Thanks, Glad I could help.👍
Great tip 👍
You are genius
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent info and great job , very good video !!
thanks bud!
@@ShenRC 😊👍
Great advice Steve, I'll call you when mine need fixed lol
Thanks, most shocks are nice and don't leak but sometimes you get bad ones from certain models of RC cars.
Good idea Steve I'm going to have to try this on my Traxxas Stampede
Cool if it's the shock shaft o rings leaking it just may do the trick!
This is a great simple fix, did you also find the Tamiya 50597 orange silicone o-rings stopped the leaks 100% as well ?
Hi I did not try them but tamiya does make nice O rings, the little washer I show you use makes it compress the O rings a little more in the shock body and it makes them seal better around the shock shaft. Thanks for watching.
Great tip mate, I'll see if it works on my arrma blx 3s shocks as they leak more then any other shocks I've have seen or had in my collection
Hi yea those are bad but they may be leaking also from the shock body big O ring seal also...give it a go see what happens...I also have a fix for those arrma shocks my latest arrma shock fix video that I did ... I did a couple but my last one solved the leaky arrma shocks syndrome!
@@ShenRC hi mate, yeah I saw your video on using tamiya damper orings to stop the granite shocks leaking I was going to follow your video and try it and give you a shout out 👍
Good to see your tips here... the shocks on my 3S Typhon are really annoying! Will check out the other video. You already tried the Tamiya thing? :)
@@Musiquence👍 do this working great for me so far.ua-cam.com/video/FUhnuV6fhbc/v-deo.html
Outlaw's Workshop hi mate, yeah the stock shocks are definitely annoying, shens trick worked a treat, I tried the tamiya oring also with some after market main o rings and they worked a treat, no more leaking shocks, I did it all on video and I will add it soon too, but I’m behind at the moment due to buying a vinyl plotter decal machine so I’m able to make custom stickers now, I have been practicing the last few weeks, but I will post the video next week for sure 👍
Cool solution 👍
👍👍 Thank you man!
Fantastic Tip Steve and a great how to video 👍😁👍😎👍
Thanks bro!
Great info bro!!!
Thanks PC!
You're a Genius mate!

😁He he thanks for the great comment.
@@ShenRC
You're welcome mate! 😊
Keep the great video's coming 👌🦘🇦🇺
Great tip nice video
Thank you I RC D!
You have awesome tips man. I ordered the "new" suspension kit from CN for the Grasshopper. I'm told the front shocks leak but the rear does not. I'm hoping this will aid for a fix if mine leak as well. 🤞
COOL! hope it helps you out. Thanks very much for watching.
Nice, thanks bud👍
No problem 👍
Great tip. Having this problem on the Mad Van. Look like the same shocks. Thanks man.
Glad it helped, yea I did my mad van shocks and it works.
Doing it atm!
Excellent advice on a free potential fix, much appreciated. =)
Your welcome it worked like a charm on many shocks for me.
Great tip Steve! I’ll keep this gem in mind!👍😊
Cool! Thanks as always.
Great tip..thanks for sharing.. BEAUTY!!!
Your welcome and Beauty right back at ya man!
Great fix will definitely do this if i have that problem👍
Yea it worked on my mad van shock and some others I did in the past so it's worth giving it a try.
Nice fix buddy. Great video 👍👍
Thanks Kenny!
Good to know Steve. Nice video.
Thanks very much.
Thank you for de tip my friend steve, I had a problem like that, And thanks to you this will be done thanks to you my friend
Cool! try it out it may do the trick for ya!
good simple quick fix.
Thanks Model Nutty!
I use thick rubber bands, I cut them to the correct length and glue each end of the rubber together forming a rubber o ring, I made my own O rings because I purchased a China upgrade for my rc and it came with fillable shocks, those shocks are leaky and cannot be oil filled because they don't come with genuine o rings installed. Really cool tip for leaky shocks
Awesome tip my friend👊👍🇬🇧😎😊
Thank you very much.
Worked Like a charm #legend
Cool! Thanks for watching.
Very unique tip. Good stuff.😎🤘🏻
😁👍👍 Right on brotha!
Thanks!!
Your Welcome! 😁👍
Thank you for the tip Steve 😊👍👍
😁👍Your welcome.
My front left shock on the Mad Van is leaking too. Only about 4 packs through it!
O nooo!👍 Try this it worked on mine.
Shen RC Kyosho sent me a new shock. It leaks too. As do the other 3. Time to upgrade!
@@lektro808 Hi I would put a plastic washer or make your own like how I show and put one in each shock like how I did..It worked for mine it don't leak at all now.
Great, thanks!
👍 Your welcome.
great idea Steve, Thanks I'll have to try it
Your welcome 👍
Great how to video 👍
Thank you very much.
Nice job man! I got a lot of videos to catch up on!
Ha ha thank you so much.
That looks like it will work, I'm going to have to try that, great tip man👍
Cool give it a try. Thanks
Cool give it a try. Thanks
Thank you for the tip,beauty👍👍
Your welcome...Beauty back at ya! 😁👍
great job well done thanks for sharing
👍 Your welcome.
great idea. but why don't you just use some washers lying around..
Hi I did not have any thing plastic and that thin, they need to be plastic and super thin.
Pretty cool tip man
😁👍 Why thank you.
awesome tip man! I'll need to try this!
Worth trying out for sure if oils seeping from the shock shaft. Thank you
Thank you! It's worth a try!
Works like a charm 😁👍
Slick trick. One for the files. =)

😁👍👍Thanks
Thats a great tip bro
👍 Thank you
Is a good simple tip info ;-D
Thanks friend.
What o rings are there I think I need some
Hi try this trick first it works really well, as for O rings you will have to find what ones are needed from kyosho. Thanks for watching.
Thanks so much dude👌
dude this Kyosho Javelin is a nightmare haven't even been able to run it as the design of this shock is ridiculous, the black little plastic piece in the end keeps lifting back into the shock body letting all the oil out im seriously ready to just get rid of this system and replace with shocks that actually work and i have been building these rc cars since the 80's and this would have to be in the top 5 of bad shock designs i have seen any help would be great as i would like to stay with the OG shocks thanks
Hi I am not sure I built a kyosho Javelin and I had no issue at all with my shocks, it's been a while and I can't recall what they were like when I put mine together but I remember I had no problems with them, I would take them apart and look at the manual maybe you put a part in them wrong or missed something? Thanks for watching.
What that tool call u made the hole with? I need one of those.
Hi it's a RC body reamer. Thanks for watching.
what size do i use for shocks on 1/10 buggy? m2 or m3? i have no idea
Hi I am not sure I cut my own spacers of of a piece of flat clear plastic.
Thanks for the tip!
👍 Your welcome.
Nice tip Steve! I wonder if this technique would work with the leaky Arrma shocks? I'm guessing probably not since it all unscrews from the bottom on those shocks.
Hi Errl you should be able to add a spacer in the arrma shocks also it may work but if it's the outside rubber seal that it's leaking from the shock body it won't help. worth a try. Thanks.
Hey errl I got a fix for the leaking 3s shocks. I use a slightly bigger o ring from lowes that works great. Instead of sitting inside the shock body like the stock one it sticks out and you screw down onto it (not too tight) and I haven't had one leak on the ones I fixed. It is in the plumbing section of lowes. Brand name is "danco" #6 orings 7/16 od x 5/16 id x1/16 works great for me!
@@cwatson42785 Thanks Chris! I will definitely be looking into that for the arrma shocks as they're great shocks but they leak which is really the only issue with them. I appreciate the tip brother!
@@ShenRC Cool I will have to give it a try and see if it works on them. Thanks brother!
@@ErrlRC no problem bud! Yeah they sell them right at lowes. Just make sure to put them nice and snug but not too tight. You will see what I mean. It works good because it's not inside the body. The shock body screws down on top of the oring. Its kinda like you gotta hit a sweet spot of not too tight or too loose but I did 3 of them and haven't leaked yet...Knock on wood lol. Shen also made a video on how to fix it too if you can't find those orings or wanna check out his leaking shock video he said works well too 👌
Some things just work better under a little pressure. 😂💯👍🏻👍🏻
😁👍 Thanks!
Thanks for the reply, i thought that you had tried the Tamiya o-rings & that they stopped the leaks on your front shocks. Did you not pursue trying the Tamiya ones.
He he I did use tamiya ones on my arrma shocks to stop the leaks though and they worked.. a plastic washer works fine in these kyosho shocks though.
@@ShenRC Yes i was talking about the Granite shocks with the Tamiya 0-rings & not the Kyosho shocks.
@@gillian9178 O this is the kyosho shock fix video why I was wondering? Anyhow look at this video the tamiya O rings I used work better than the arrma ones. 👍 ua-cam.com/video/FUhnuV6fhbc/v-deo.html
While this may be a quick fix, for a leak. It is not how you actually fix the shock, this is binding the shock and increasing the tension. The proper way to fix the O-rings is with O-ring or shock grease. Dump the old oil remove the O-rings, wipe the inside of the shocks with a Q-Tip to remove debris, and coat the O-rings in the grease and put them back in. Then rebuild and replace the oil. That is the proper fix for a leaky shock.
Obviously you never watch my videos if you think I don't know how to rebuild a shock...I know how to fix a shock, this method is for shocks that you get that the O rings they have in them are not good and always leak even if you buy the new replacements they sell for them.
@@ShenRC And that was exactly what I said it is a quick fix for a leak, but you are not fixing it. I was not trying to call you out at all, but you may want to have a better description as it is not a fix, it is merely a stop gap that is extending the life of a shock that is simply no good as you describe since replacing the O-ring still wouldn't fix it. That means the casing is faulty, but by doing this you are also increasing the risk of a total blow out of some larger shocks since you are trying to block a gap by increasing pressure inside.
@@dustinbloomquist4494 I know what I am doing I had many many people thanks me telling me it worked for them, your the first person telling me something negative go figure.... can't please everyone.
@@ShenRC Again not trying to be negative but people should understand this is not fixing anything. And many of them probably just need a rebuild as they do not have faulty, casing or broken O-rings. Since you are not calling that out in the video or description, I decided to comment ... so sorry if it offended.
This is really Bodging Macgyver style 😜👍 making your own washer with scissors is not going to stop the shock from leaking 😄
O rings are very cheap and the best solution 👍👍😳
Hi adding that washer most certainly does help to make the rubber O rings seal better, the thickness of that washer compresses the O rings more in the shock chamber and makes them seal better. these are new shocks and they leaked with the washer trick they now work perfectly.
Gool
Thank you man!
@@ShenRC your welcome
Did this on merv vxl still leaks
Hi you must have did something wrong or had ruined O rings this always works for me i do it on many RC's even on my buddies.
Are you guarantee no leak again?
if done correctly it should work
@@ShenRC i was tried but still leak..
You cut the part out where you stabbed a hole in your thumb
😁 LOL!! smashed like a beauty!
Tried everything but shocks always leak
This works like a charm if done correctly. 👍
I tried extra o rings different shaft guides etc but then it feels to tight on my rc4wd rock krawler shocks
@@trevorcourt1403 HI You just add lexan custom made washers like I did or find very thin plastic ones with a large enough hole in them so they don't scrape the metal shock shaft. use all the stock parts and just add a very thin and washer it should work fine. if you add extra O rings or two thick of a washer it will deform the other O rings and make it to tight for the shaft to slide through and cause problems.
Thanks will give it a try 👍🏻
