He was signed 2 days ago. BC is 25 years old. He has a nice offensive game. Not physical nor athletic but highly skilled. Raps summer league team should be nice. Raptors Full Draft, UDFAs, SL Roster & SL Schedule:
SG: Ja'Kobe Walter (19 years old 6'4.25 barefoot - #19)
PF: Jonathan Mogbo (22 years old 6'6.25 barefoot - #31)
PG: Jamal Shead (21 years old 6'0.25 barefoot - #45)
CP: Ulrich Chomche (18 years old 6'11.50 barefoot - #57)
CP: Branden Carlson (25 years old 6'11.75 barefoot - 2 Way)
SF: Quincy Guerrier (25 years old 6'7.50 barefoot - Ex 10)
PF: Jamison Battle (23 years old 6'7.25 barefoot - SL Roster)
CP: Dylan Disu (23 years old 6'9 barefoot - SL Roster)
PG: Tylor Perry (23 years old 5'10 barefoot - SL Roster)
SG: Omari Moore (23 years old 6'5.25 barefoot -SL Roster)
SF: Ochai Agbaii (24 years old 6'4.50 barefoot - SL Roster)
PG: DJ Carton (23 years old 6'2.50 barefoot - 2 Way)
PG: Joe Girard III (23 years old 6'0 barefoot - SL Roster)
SF: Gradey Dick (20 years old 6'6.25 barefoot - SL Roster)
Summer League Schedule:
vs OKC (July 13th, 8:30 PM ET)
vs Denver (July 14th, 9:30 PM ET)
vs Utah (July 17th, 5 PM ET)
vs Miami (July 19th, 9 pm ET)
They also signed Joseph Girard aka Joe Girard to the Summer league roster.
I think Gradey could use another year of summer league… I guess they are using it more as a tryout for players rather than for development
@@mikeyjames Yes, I just added him.
@@davidpotter3773 GD will be on the SL team. The Raps are still adding players to their SL roster.
What about Markquis? He will probably be there I would assume… but this roster looks really good and promising.
I heard Carlson’s interview on ESPN Utah and it sounds like the Raptors really liked him after he worked out for us before the draft. He said he actually came here to do his workout for the team and really liked the coaching staff and how he felt like the workout went really well because he got good feedback from the Raptors who loved his size and ability to stretch the floor or play inside. He said the raptors called him even before the 2nd round was over and told him they wanted to sign him to a 2 way deal right away. Also he said he liked the city and got to see the facilities and how he’s coming back on June 31 to train with the team and get ready for summer league. Jonay’s downfall was this guy’s biggest opportunity. I think just signed a bunch of these guys because we really liked their game and just didn’t want to leave anything on the table without getting a look at them in our system. If you notice all these players are shooters or good defenders. Even the players we signed to our summer league like Joe Girard are shooters. This leads me to believe they’re looking to put a lot of shooters around Scottie and they’re trying to see who fits that style so they can keep them in the system on 905 and go back to developing players like the Norm Powell and Fred era.
On a 2-way means some time with the Raps and some 905. His long ball shot looks pro caliber. He is our first 2-way deal. We still have two 2-way spots and it will not be Mogbo or Shead. Summer league will produce those is my guess. JFL is on a standard contract if he makes the team. Davion Mitchell is going to help this team as role player. Not sure Vezenkov is anything to stress about.
They didn’t lie. They were facing the potential of having 4 draft picks 31st and below which would mean 4 rookies on the Raptors NBA team.
They clear all two way roster spots before the draft. Walter and Mogbo will be with the Raptors and Shead and Chomche will be two way players with Raptors 905.
That’s completely different than 4 new rookies in the NBA.
Kelly Iko @KellyIko (Jun 27)
Shead turned down over a dozen two-way offers to land a guaranteed contract, sources said.
Shead is signing a standard NBA contract not a two way contract. Shead's agent made that clear to any team that intended to draft him. Thus, is the reason why he was still available at #45 even though he was projected to be drafted before that.
Shead is getting a guaranteed deal or so says his college coach.
@@BennyGeseritThat's what I posted.
One of the most interesting summer leagues we've had in recent years. Lots for the fans to evaluate.
Raptors current roster:
CP: Poeltl/Olynyk/Chomche
PF: Barnes/Boucher/Mogbo
SF: Vezenkov/Dick
SG: RJ/Brown/Ogbaji/Freeman-Liberty/Walter
PG: IQ/Mitchell/Shead
Free Agents:
GTJ (UFA)
Nwora (UFA)
Temple (UFA)
Malik Williams (RFA)
Two Way Contracts:
G DJ Carton
C Branden Carlson
Exhibition 10:
F Quincy Guerrier
The writing is on the wall now, Poetl is going to be traded.
@@davidobrien3897 I don't think so unless the Raptors receive a starting center in return.
@@davidobrien3897 he is a liability with his 3pt and foul shooting he just helps the opponent clog up the middle as he is not a threat to shoot above the foul line so his man can hover around the paint. okc needs a skilled big and maybe they can pry some pick and player out them.
Where’s Ochai?
@@moolahmeech9299 Just added him 😉.
Masai & Bobby been on a heater since that OG trade. We got a whole reality show at Summer League of trying to make the team. I watched a few games of BC at Utah and I always liked his game. He reminds me of KO for real, his game is like him. I hope he makes the team since he can make 3s.
I hope we can use him! We’ll see what the boys have in summer league
Although it’s nice to have these type of players I still feel a big hole in the team is lack of athletic physical wings. I really hope we can get a few Laron Holmes type players. Need to get physical!
Isn't that Mike Dunleavy?
Finally! A 3pt shooting big. Lets hope the rest of his game is enough to earn him minutes. Finally.
He more than likely won't get minutes in the rotation unless injuries add up. Most likely the 905's starting center. I hope the Raps sign a free agent center like James Wiseman to back up Poeltl allowing Olynyk to be the back up PF.
@@IceManLikeGervinagree, if everything goes well, he will be the 3rd big in the roster, more like Porter last year, if he can shoot 3s, for some games he may earn some mins if scottie need more space. His skillset is ready for nba level.
@@yueshengliu592 💯
@@yueshengliu592you guys forget Porter was starting games on this team. There no telling who will get minutes on this team because we don’t know how good this team will actually be. DJ Carton popped up from G League and was getting back up minutes on this team. It all depends on how good we are and injuries.
@@mikeyjameshe’s not playing over Jakob/Kelly
Not really a lie. They didn't want to lock in too many rookies. Ie; guaranteed contracts via 1st round picks. Teams always have 8-10 rookies ready for summer camp and at least half of those make training camp with maybe 1-2 making the final squad.
Walter, Mogbo and Shead will all receive standard NBA contracts. Chomanche may be a draft and stash or 2 way. Carlson on a two way. Quincy Guerrier on a Ex 10.
@@IceManLikeGervin Only Walker will receive the full rookie deal.
@@MandoGuerrero2 Not true. Both Mogbo and Shead will receive standard guaranteed contracts. Shead's agent made that a requirement for any team drafting him that's why he fell to #45.
@@IceManLikeGervin You realize there's a massive difference between 1st round guaranteed contracts and 2nd round/FA contracts, right? 2nd and FA can be 1 year, 2-way and stashed in the G like Nowell and others were last year or dropped immediately.
1st rounders sign 4-year rookie scale contracts guaranteed for 2 years. 2nd rounders are not subject to rookie scale and are NOT guaranteed. Massive difference.
@@MandoGuerrero2 You are trying to move the goal post. Both Mogbo and Shead will receive standard NBA contracts with language that guarantees them. Will they contain team option guarantee dates? Most likely. But neither will be on a two way contract. All the best.
I think he is the replaced for Kelly Olynick. He should be ready in 2-3 years for that role.
or sooner if Kelly gets injured
@@davidobrien3897 sure but I prefer being realistic. I am not expecting I’m drafted player to hit a Homerun.
yOuR ViDeOs aRe cReAtiVe - not a bot
He looks like Spencer from ICarly.
Likely these signing will play summer league games only, if they’re good enough maybe they’ll get on a two-way contract
YEAH! YEAH! 🦖🇨🇦🦖
Ayeeee
Things evolve, so is life, if 1 or 2 forward pan out would be great. The guy from Africa is Bruno 2.0. Roster spot # 15 is open, I assume it will be left open unit Brown trade gets done. The default is Kelly O as C2
This guy could become peak Steve Novak by 30. On a Vet's Minimum. 🤞
Best Rookie that the raptors got. He just makes sense and is more Athletic than he looks. Need a shooting big around Scottie.
Raptors have 11 one way players signed already, assuming we get absolutely nothing for GTJ. Then we have free agency tomorrow so unless they sign absolutely no one, which won't happen since they need a Big/Bench big for when Poeltl isn't on the court. That means theres at max 1-2 spots left which one of those is already going to be taken by Jakobe Walter.
Just need to use ur brains a little to see there won't be any room for rookies on this roster even if they wanted to have a few rookies around.
Its called a 2 way for a reason 905 need a restock and if we have injury problems then we dont have to scramble to sign a guy to a terrible deal and him force a nba contract out of it
I donno if DJ Carton is needed. Including him, we have too may guards to develop at once
I thought the wording used was "not 3" and to that he was right, 4 is not 3.
Let’s go Raptors
Apparently Vezenkov is heading back to Europe!
The Raos are putting tigether a G league team. Will finish below 500😊
diamond in the rough. masai seem to find them
Why not he looks good. Similar play to ware which people wanted.
2 Cs on Two-ways Carlson and Chomche?
The Raptors are trying to replenish the 905.
what are you talking about....no pro sports gm lie....ever
Thank you, Ben, for being the one person who doesn't lie to us.
That man ain't gonna make it. Why waste a spot on him. Not even good enough for the Spanish ACB or any team that can qualify for Euroleague. Maybe Australia, China or Japan
Lied to? Teams have no obligation to tell the truth to the media.
Bro idk if you ever noticed but the 51% of people that you say that are “unsubscribed” are actually the ones that are subscribed. Just saying cuz you’ve haven’t noticed it for like a year now lmao
5 years in College ball, setting records, improving his game, and 7 foot, who can shoot etc. not a bad pick. 25 is not old at all. I agree that with Kelly mentoring him, plus the coaches, he can take his game further.
i could've told u that he lied
Sasquatch...find him and sign him
BRING BACK DEMAR DEROZAN PLEASE
Good move, Olynyk can tutor him. Shoring up the center position is always good.
